Like I've said a gazillion times. We had a proto Trump in Maine in Governor LePage and this presidency is like a terrible low budget indy movie being remade as a terrible blockbuster. DNC is making almost same mistakes that Maine Democratic Party did in 2014. Big difference is third parties are much bigger in Maine than they are nationwide.

It seems like Howie Hawkins and Jo Jorgensen seem like they're getting much less media attention than Jill Stein and Gary Johnson did.

Jorgensen seems like a moonbat even by Libertarian standards btw.

If your dream is to get a pilot's license and you have to be a 1000 miles away tomorrow, the first step should be to buy a ticket. The big dream can wait until it's viable. Take care of the most important thing first.

“Now we sent in the US marshals for the killer, the man that killed the young man in the street,” Trump told Judge Jeanine. “Two and a half days went by, and I put out [on Twitter], ‘When are you going to go get him?’ And the US marshals went in to get in, and in a short period of time, they ended in a gunfight. This guy was a violent criminal, and the US marshals killed him. And I’ll tell you something — that’s the way it has to be. There has to be retribution when you have crime like this.”

During his rally on Saturday night in Minden, Nevada, Trump alluded to Reinoehl’s killing and lauded US marshals for doing a “great job,” adding, darkly, “you know what I mean.”

Then, on Sunday night in Henderson, Trump brought up the incident again and said, “as you know, in Portland the other day, we had to send in the US Marshals. A man, who’s a bad guy, bad guy, shot somebody right in the middle of the street, who they say was a very fine young man. Shot him, killed him. Just shot him like, it was on television. Two and a half days, nothing happened, I said, ‘What’s going on?’ We sent in the US marshals, it was taken care of in 15 minutes, okay?”

Trump straight up promoting death squads. Surely THIS will be the thing that turns people against him. (LOL nope).

Personal correspondence with Debbie Wassermann Schultz, actually. She sure does love stamping out progressive voices in favor of corporatists.

Howie Hawkins would be a good name for an old time baseball player.

I think that the last several posts in this thread just reminded me why I went from, like, February to August, without even bothering to click on it.

This is really, flagrantly obviously wrong when it comes to environmental shit.

This is all in the last four years. I did copy this and am not trying to pass it off as my own. A lot of Republicans have accepted that climate change is real regardless of what they say in public. They are literally attempting to kill the planet while getting rich so they can afford to protect themselves unlike the poors they don't care about.

Some notable regulations removed:
- Clean Power Plan
- Methane Rule
- Clear Air Act: Emissions Standards
- Oil and Natural Gas Emissions Standards
- Coal Ash Rule
- Waters of the U.S. Rule
- Endangered Species Act: Rule Revisions
- Penalties for Violations of Fuel Efficiency Standards
- Commercial and Industrial Solid Waste Incineration Standards and Emissions
- Sage Grouse Protections
- Emissions Limits for Coal Power Plants
- Methane and Waste Prevention Rule
- Endangered Species Act: Mitigation Policy
- Lowering Renewable Fuel Standards for 2018
- Greenhouse Gas Emissions Measure
- Scientific Transparency Rule
- Oil and Gas Fracking Rule

...And too many more to list.

He has removed humongous swaths of federally-protected land in the interests of fossil fuel entities.

He is extremely critical of renewable energy, even promoting false conspiracy theories against them.

He's notoriously skeptical of climate change, once claiming it was a "Chinese Hoax.".

He has a dubious track record with natural disasters, including increased hurricanes and wildfires - largely passing blame rather than solutions or unity.

The U.S. withdrew from the Paris Accord, making America the only country apart from Syria to break ranks.

His de-regulation agenda is further evidenced by his cabinet picks:

Rick Perry - The Secretary of Energy. Rick Perry is a longtime proponent of corporate deregulation and tax breaks, and once said he wanted to abolish the Department of Energy.

In a CNBC interview on June 19, 2017, he downplayed the role of human activity in the recent rise of the Earth's temperature, saying natural causes are likely the main driver of climate change.
The head of the DoE is now a former lobbyist for Ford Motors.

Scott Pruitt - Former Head of The Environmental Protection Agency - An oil lobbyist who had personally sued and fought the EPA for years in the interest of fossil fuel entities. He resigned in shame, and under multiple investigations.

Andrew Wheeler - Pruitt's successor at the EPA - Worked for a coal magnate and frequent lobbyist against Obama's regulations.

Ryan Zinke - Former Secretary of the Interior. A fervent deregulation proponent. Zinke opened more federal lands for oil, gas and mineral exploration and extraction than any previous secretary. He resigned in disgrace, and under many investigations.

David Bernhardt - Zinke's successor at the Interior. An oil industry lobbyist who was under investigation only days after his confirmation. Bernhardt, when asked about climate change (something that directly affects the lands he is in charge of) dismissively quipped "It doesn't keep me up at night."

Bridenstine, head of NASA, was appointed after a career of climate denialism. Only recently (and thankfully) did he change his views on the matter.

• Now the head of NOAA is a "virulent climate change denier"

I'm seeing way too many Trump signs here in Wisconsin. I know it's not a good barometer but each one sickens me. And this state doesn't have a good reputation for voting over the past decade.

On the bright side, you can count how many people in your area are voting for Trump by those yard signs. There is literally not a single person who would vote for him who would not have some kind of Trump gear. I know speaking for myself that I don't put out any political stuff because I'm worried some Trump loving nutcase would slash my tires. I think there are a lot of people in that category.

It is good to know who thinks veterans are "losers." It is good to know who thinks it's ok for a celebrity to "grab em by the pussy" and spread conspiracy lies like today's 'Biden is a pedo' bullshit. It's good to know who is a spoiled bitchmade brat that has never had to work a day in their life. It's goo to know who to avoid, who to not waste time or energy trying to have respect for.

But it still turns my stomach each time I see it and learn those things about people.

I have found that Trump supporters are more likely to show outward signs of support than people have for other political figures in the past and present.

Guys, it'll be a crushing blow for the Democrats, if @Laz votes for Howie Hawkins in the crucial swing state of Massachusetts.

Also, to this point, that isn't the problem. I don't care what someone in Massachusetts is going to vote for. It's that a lot of people in swing states actually are influenced by that kind of rhetoric in the face of giant lists of differences such as the one I posted. It's easily proven untrue as long as people are willing to listen. The difference between the Dems and the Republicans is most of the shit that has happened in the last four years. There's such an absolutely massive amount of stuff to list, and the list I posted is not remotely comprehensive.

I actually identify with the Green Party more, but that's irrelevant here. If I lived in another country with a Green Party, I would definitely vote for it. Right now we have a choice of a centrist coalition with some liberals and the Nazis. The difference between the two is absolutely enormous. You can get to the left from the center, but if the Nazis win again, we ain't ever getting there. They have already destroyed circuit courts and another election would allow them to do that to SCOTUS. Every nutcase Trump has talked about nominating will live for at least thirty years. Maybe you guys think that we can get to the left when the SCOTUS bench is full of Scalia worshippers, a rapist, Ted Cruz, and Tom Cotton. And while the entire federal district court is full of Trump nuthuggers. Swerve me with that logic please.

all countries polled have terrible opinions and 6 of the 13 hit record lows.
As for Trump himself, only 20 per cent of the poll’s 1,037 Canadian respondents expressed confidence in the president, the lowest rating Pew has ever recorded in Canada and a precipitous drop from the 83 per cent support for Barack Obama they found in 2016.

That's really amazing. I know we've talked about it somewhat and Biden has too but one of the most challenging things for future administrations is going to be rebuilding confidence in other nations in America. Far more difficult than after the Bush Presidency.

If the Nazis win again in a few weeks, the United States will never be able to recover.
