Biden up 3.8 in Top Battleground States

Worth noting the consistency from last year as well. Trump got close in March & April then squandered it massively before climbing back a bit but the COVID stuff could dramatically change that.

Biden being up by 5-6 points in PA, Michigan, and Wisconsin is big though. Even with a margin of say 4% that still gives Biden a slight edge.

Democrats are far, far from being out of the woods and I'm still tentatively in "I'll believe it when I see it" mode RE: them winning BUT I am getting more optimistic for that reason, Snuffy. I'm starting to think not just a win but a blow out. We know who Trump is. He's had countless Access Hollywood moments since 2016 and we're being battered by GOD DAMN GLOBAL PANDEMIC, which he's botched U.S. response's response to horribly to the extent that he GOT THE VIRUS HIMSELF!

It *should* be an easy win but lord knows the Democrats could trip in front of the finish line and Trump can barrel roll ahead of them somehow.

I'm not sure the Democrats tripping over the finish line is a thing grounded in much reality. What tends to happen, imo, is that voters fuck it up all too often. That has been the story of way too many Novembers in our lifetimes.

My favorite part about America is how much of it has rotted away and how many people have been completely left behind by the economy the past three decades.

Just wait until automation takes away service sector jobs (which will probably happen within 50 years). There is a reckoning coming. As bad as right now seems, it's going to be nothing compared to when that happens. What comes out of it will either be a better, more equal country or the complete destruction of the USA.

Wisconsin voted for Scott Walker thrice in 4 years. That was not because Hillary Clinton didn't visit the state in 2016. You're welcome to make whatever excuses for voters you choose but I don't partake. I'm not sure if I'd put Clinton's campaign in the top 5 reasons she lost the electoral vote. 1st and 2nd place are evangelical voters and the media normalizing Trump. And, to be clear, there is no law, no statute, no commandment, that requires any voter to believe everything they hear on the TV, radio, or internet. That so many fell for so much, and knowingly voted against their own interests, their own families' interests, not just in 2016 but in Novembers over the past many decades, is on those voters.

Love to keep saying "America is Already Great" to people who will never recover from the 2008 financial crisis.

Wasn't she a senator from NY when that happened? I'm not entirely sure what you guys are going for here so I'll just pick back up in this thread when the topic changes.

...no????????????????

She also spoke favorably about it until 2008 or so. And she was a big supporter of TPP until around the same time everyone gave up on it. Whether fair or not, popular consensus among the working class was that it was just a new NAFTA.

She was First Lady but she was vocal supporter of it. She hemmed and hawed about it when Obama attacked her on it '08 and Trump attacked her on it in 2016.

There's probably no worse candidate suited for the Rust Belt than her.

I work a lowly scum job and every year see the erosion of jobs due to tech. Walmart's are not only prepping robots to scrub the floors, but also to scan outs on the sales floor. Plus they are working on a system of cameras to track fresh produce from selling down/rotting instead of having warm bodies check things. They gladly update of these things in our company wide magazine/propaganda.

The newer Walmarts have 20+ self checks and like 6 live cashier registers.

I worked a warehouse job years ago and even back in 2011 they were bringing in automated picking let alone what must be happening now.

Depends on the type of warehouse and how long something stays on the shelf. Anything tied to construction is going to keep as much manpower as possible because what's ordered isn't always what's needed, and field alterations are common.

any huge technological change sees a shift in where the workforce is. It will cause a lot of hardship and suffering but it will also lead to a lot of opportunity. It isn't a one or the other situation. This has happened many times throughout history. It doesn't make it any easier for the people going through it obviously but we can try and remember that mankind despite how fucking awful we are somehow always muddles through. We'll even make it through Trump.

Maybe.
