if you're not running for pres and you're not talking about someone running for pres, there's no reason to take shots at another dem like this. Saying it about the young non-white women who are trying to change America, even if you don't care about how insulting and SUSPECT it sounds, is really fucking dumb when you think about how important their base is to the future of the democratic party.

Beyond that? It reminds me of when the Tea Party types took control of the GOP by and large. The established politicians that don't care about anything but their paycheck are going to either need to play along with the younger, more hardlined base or get left in the fucking dust.

And when it comes to Pelosi? Good. She's a piece of shit and always has been.

Should you really be looking to the fucking Tea Party for inspiration?
In the sense of how a younger, angrier, and more idealistic portion of a political party forces the career politicians to either move aside or actually work for the will of their constituents? Yes. Absolutely. Pelosi is garbage, Biden is shit, and establishment Dems that "play ball" by compromising focal points in exchange for the word of open liars need to either keep up with the times or cash in. Pelosi talking down to one of the only well-known members of her party that actually has the guts to follow through on her convictions is, flat out, completely fucking stupid.

Why wouldn't you take a page from a winning playbook? Because you don't like the author? That's silly and counter productive when your team, in this case people who actually value the "liberty and justice for all" thing, are barely hanging in. Playing the long game isn't good enough when the result is a Band-Aid on a broken leg.

I know this will really bother the crowd who was going to vote for him.

Gravel didn't make it to the debate but he's out too.

It's really hard to handicap this race right now. Biden's shifts to the left are eroding his former positions in the center, Harris keeps flip flopping after public appearances (e.g her stumbles on Medicare for All and then the busing issue), and Warren/Sanders are occupying the far-left lane but splitting the vote with that constituency. I don't see anyone else in the field moving into that top four barring some kind of breakout moment/event and it'll be a three-way race (or maybe even down to two) after South Carolina. Mayor Pete polls poorly among black voters, so that really takes him out of consideration.

I also don't know what the DNC is thinking with some of these debates. Putting opinion commentators on debate panels is just not a wise choice. Rachel Maddow on the MSNBC one wasn't great (it'd be like having Sean Hannity moderate a GOP debate) but when I read the DON LEMON is one of the moderators for the CNN one I couldn't believe it. The guy whose show ranks 35th or whatever in primetime + thinks the Malaysian Airliner flew into a black hole is moderating a presidential debate?

I can see Sanders conceding to Warren as far as the "far" left candidate goes and maybe even joining her campaign if she gets the nod. That's a huge IF, though, because I can easily see the DNC either playing it safe with Biden (which will give us Trump 2020) or hammering home identity politics with Harris.

I never cease to be amazed by the cognitive dissonance of people who talk about "identity politics," while not acknowledging their own identity, because they simply see themselves as the default. There's this massive disconnect where people think that politicians who speak on things they can't identify with are "shoving identity politics down our throats," but that politicians who speak on things they can identify with are talking to/about everyone, when that's usually not true, and has rarely ever been true.

Like, you know that all that "working class Americans" noise, and whatever other descriptors that your man Sanders uses during his speeches is an "identity," too, right?

Point to where I complained about shoving identity politics down my throat, please, as my allusion was from disenfranchisement with the Dems more than "person no look like me." Harris would be a great choice and one who'd get my vote. I just don't have faith in the Dems to push her the right way.

Well, the almost half of the country that voted for Trump and trusts FOXNEWS to be fair and balanced. I think all of us here knew the Seth Rich thing was right wing conspiracy bullshit. They've been trying to pin bodies on the Clintons forever, F'n Roger Stone and Steve Bannon came right out and said it looked like a professional hit!!!! and tried to tie him to wikileaks and Hilary's e-mails (he wasn't, like at all, that was actually the Russians too)

It doesn't matter though. FOX, Limbaugh et. all parroted it long enough that their audience will believe it even when proven false, and if they even see/listen to this Yahoo podcast series they'll declare it FAKE NEWS

I view the phrases "hammering home" and "shoving down my throat" as a difference that lacks a distinction. YMMV.

Same cast except no Swallwell and Bullock made it. CNN is doing a LIVE DRAW on Thursday to determine who goes what night.

Sanders and Warren won the night, in different ways. Sanders got a lot of time in the first 1/2-2/3 of the debate but Warren was allowed to dominate the rest. Even in the time where Warren was getting little time in the midst of Sanders scoring vivid points on the scrubs, she optimized her chances. I'm still happy with either as the nominee, though it's likely clear I'm a hardcore Sanders mark.

Buttigieg needs to run for Senate from Indiana in 2022, or governor. He's got it, but another decade or so will need to pass.

solid debate and i agree that sanders and warren were the winners. Delaney and Bullock were the big losers. Delaney was everyones punching back and Bullock saying that he was for nuclear proliferation was just....dumbfounding.

I love how Delaney ignored the history Warren has had with the healthcare industry, and how Ryan is trying to argue against creating new jobs because of "blue collar issues."

Fuck you, Timmy. I'm blue collar. I want clean energy and new jobs to apply for. Go home.
