Chris Klieman and Matt Campbell but honestly that's about it. Thing is Penn State is still gonna cruise into the playoff but as a lower seed.

10 years of "just not good enough", how many more years is this guy gonna get at what is supposed to be a top football program? Watching the end of their game against Ohio State today, they had a chance to tie the game inside Ohio State's 5, I said to myself "well here comes 3 runs into the middle of the line", guess what happened? The same play each time! What are we doing???
Who's out there better? Don't care, but something needs to be done because the program is going to be in an eternal holding pattern as long as he's there, being good but just not good enough.

It's kinda the same thing as Mack Brown. Or like how Florida State fans were sick of Jimbo Fisher. You fire him and you are risking 8-10 years of purgatory. It's not guaranteed but maybe that's what'll happen. There's only a handful of programs where one of these kinds of teams didn't collapse for a while. I'm a fan of one!
Now all this being said. If the playoffs were expanded, not counting this season, Franklin would have gotten Penn State to the playoff 5 or 6 times. They're the Ole Miss of the Big Ten. Obviously I'm not saying 'be happy with that,' but they're gonna make the playoff this season. I don't know if anyone who achieves that is gonna get fired.

Louisiana is now notably 8-1 as is Boise State (Ashton Jeanty ran for 180+ and 3 TD. He'd get my Heisman vote tbh. Travis Hunter's impressive but he's pretty bleh as a WR from a statistics standpoint and needs to show out more there IMO as there's a lot of WRs having better years with bigger YPR numbers. What made somebody like an Ohtani incredible was he was being elite in both sides). Both #3 Georgia (who are now 7-2) and #4 Miami got knocked off. #17 Iowa State suffered their 2nd loss to Kansas. Michigan's completely falling apart sitting at 5-5 after losing to Indiana.

Amid speculation he might be primed to move elsewhere after this season, Colorado's Deion Sanders said he's got "a kickstand down" and the Buffs "ain't going nowhere."
He took a program that was 1-11 and now they’re in the AP top 25 less than two years later. The amount of people shitting on him during that time was crazy, people don’t have a concept of what it means to rebuild. This is a success by any standard.

Jim McElwain is set to retire at the end of the season, opening up Central Michigan after being their HC since 2019.
Wisconsin also has let go OC Phil Longo.
Florida Atlantic is moving on from Tom Herman and Umass has let Don Brown go. A couple interesting names as both were very highly sought after when they were OC and DC respectively.

I'll also be curious if he can keep that dominance going without Shedeur at QB and Travis Hunter playing both ways. Talent usually trumps X's/O's for coaches so a true test of coaching ability (to me) is trying to raise up players into stars and keeping that winning train going.
That's usually why teams that do really well as mid-level programs (think a Boise State) are more impressive coaching jobs to me personally because it's harder to get premium talent there and a lot of the "stars" are homegrown/developed through the program rather than just portal transfer snatches.

Georgia/Georgia Tech was insanity going 8 OT. Memphis quietly(?) upset #17 Tulane earlier in the week by the way, ruining their outside playoff hopes.

Syracuse did its job and gave #6 Miami their 2nd loss of the season. #15 South Carolina gave #12 Clemson their 3rd loss of the year. Louisiana won and are 10-2 on the year (7-1 in conference). Army won its 10th game of the year as well. Wyoming upset Washington State, winning only their 3rd game of the season. Florida State lost and finished an astonishing 2-10 this year. Hawai'i may've found its QB starting Micah Alejado who went 37/57 for 469 and 5 TD in a win over New Mexico 38-30.

Jeanty is a beast, busted out 200+ against UNLV in the Mountain West Title Game. Army steamrolled Tulane and Bryson Daily has been an absolute beast for Army at QB rushing wise... brings to mind years like Keenan Reynolds for Navy if not more dominant TD wise (IIRC he's around 30 rushing on the year).
