Solid blow to Penn State on the coaching side: "Clemson is expected to hire Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Allen to the same post for the Tigers, according to multiple reports Monday. ESPN reported a final decision is expected in the coming days, while CBS reported Allen has accepted the job."

Garrick McGee is leaving Louisville to be the WR Coach at North Carolina. Bounced around a lot but has experience going back to the early 00s coaching QBs, WRs, and being an OC.

Jason Jones is joining Alabama as Assistant DB Coach. Jones is a 2-time Alabama graduate who won the 1999 SEC championship as a defensive back for the Crimson Tide.

Andre Crenshaw is leaving Western Kentucky to be RB Coach at Coastal Carolina. A California native, Crenshaw played for Chip Kelly at Oregon and began his coaching career as a GA at Dakota Wesleyan. He also coached at Morehead State, Tennessee Tech, Missouri Western, and Southeast Missouri State.

Jovon Bouknight has been named Wyoming's receivers coach. He has previous stops at Marshall, Kentucky, Oregon, Texas Tech, and Utah State.

Pretty interesting scenario coming out after Wisconsin defensive back Xavier Lucas recently decided he wanted to transfer following his freshman season, but the Badgers refused to allow him to enter his name in the portal. He ended up unenrolling and going to Miami.

After some back-and-forth, the NCAA released a statement Friday saying that "NCAA rules do not prevent a student-athlete from unenrolling from an institution, enrolling at a new institution and competing immediately."

At the center of the controversy is the fact that Lucas and Wisconsin entered into a binding two-year NIL agreement back in December of 2024 that included "substantial financial compensation." He also entered an additional agreement with the Varsity Collective as well. Wisconsin is basically saying Lucas reneged on the contract and didn't honor it.

Then the Badgers note that they have "credible information indicating impermissible contact between Xavier and the University of Miami football program personnel prior to Xavier's request to enter the transfer portal. Direct interference with another institutions committed player and contractual interests is prohibited by NCAA tampering rules and the law."

Former Patriot player Ty Warren has been named the Defensive RGC/DL Coach at Rice. He was AHC/DL Coach at Stephen F. Austin last year. He joins former NFL player and longtime DB Coach Kerry Cooks on their staff (Cooks will be coaching the Safeties).
