I have complete faith the Kindle Fire will be rooted and running custom firmware within months, maybe weeks. I might just wait until that happens before I spend my money, though.

That's what I thought about my HP Touchpad but I'm still waiting on that.

Well the amazon tablet is running android so that's a different beast.

I can't wait until it happens on the touchpad so all the I WANT ANDROID guys can get the fuck out of my forums. I still don't completely understand what drives then fanboy of anything, but when I want to do something in webOS(which I personally prefer over any android version) I don't need to see 100 post about "OMG WEBOS TOTALLY SUCKS AND HAS NO APPS ANDROID FTW!!! Can't wait to get it on my Touchpad"

Android for the TouchPad is just about finished...

http://liliputing.com/2011/10/this-is-how-to-install-android-on-the-hp-touchpad.html

And while I'm certainly not an Android fanboy, I am among those looking forward to being able to put it on my TouchPad.

WebOS is serviceable, but it's been my least favorite mobile operating system to use. For a device that supposedly has pretty decent hardware, I've found the TouchPad to be really sluggish, and I'm not a fan of the browser at all. The fact that it's a dead OS with no development on the horizon doesn't help either.

I have a android tablet and I honestly think the people saying honeycomb or gingerbread isn't laggy are smoking something or are just seeing what they want to see. Sure I had to tweak the touchpad but now its definately the smoother of the two.

As for the dead os part, in the past two weeks there have been numerous apps released, taking the total touchpad app count to 1000, which is still more than what's on Android(although Android scales its phone apps better). There are more webos tabs than android tablets out there in use so if a developer doesn't release a app for it, they are just mildly retarded.

For some reason the installed dictionary in Firefox kept telling me several words I typed were spelled wrong (most commonly, words ending in "s" were suggested to be "word s"). I re-installed it and everything is fine now, but man that was a stupid time period.

I don't like this trend of add-ons for apps costing money, especially when the app itself wasn't free. I know developers gotta make money, but if the app is 8 bucks I shouldn't have to deal with multiple add-ons at 99 cents each.

Tech support. I know there isn't some magic answer (in most cases) to a question, but it's fucking annoying when in my question (submitted online) I included as much information as I could think might help, and then in their response they ask for a bunch of stuff I already told them.

"I have installed the latest drivers (version x.xx), and I installed the update number x.xx.xx.xx." "Make sure you have driver version installed. The latest version is x.xx, please install that and see if it fixes the problem. Also, you need to have the update x.xx.xx.xx installed. Here is a link to install this." AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I got a Nook from my parents fir Christmas. Of course the books I downloaded with iBooks don't work on it due to DRM. Fuck you Apple, I already paid for the goddamn things. It's only two books, but one isn't even available for the Nook.

The Nook is pretty sweet at least.

Something is wrong with my computer. It's crashed while playing Team Fortress 2 and Fallout: NV a couple times this week. The game will turn off, my monitor will turn to black, and the sound stutters on the speakers. I checked the RAM with Memtest and it passed. The CPU could be overheating but it's been cool here or the video card is failing. I think it's the video card.

Mine used to do the exact same thing & it was the video card. I'd be playing along & suddenly the screen would freeze up & the sound would start stuttering, then the screen would go black & it wouldn't do anything until I rebooted.

I need a new case too because I lost some of the drive covers and dust gets in. I'll get a case first then later on a new card. I have a NVidia 9500GT, while not top of the line, has suited my needs well for the last two years.

I'm trying to upgrade the graphics card on my pc, but im kinda unsure if it is even possible. I have a sony vaio desktop model vgc-js210j (if that helps), and hoping someone here has some knowledge to help me figure this out as far as if it's possible, and what kind of video card to upgrade to. Thanks!

I did some Google searching and I wasn't able to find anything about upgrading the graphics card. According to Sony, your system came with Mobile Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD.

Essentially, you have a laptop's video card in the machine in order to save space.

Intel Integrated Graphics means it comes on the motherboard and it ain't coming out. Unless you have a PCIe 16x slot on that thing, you are stuck.

I am busy atm, can someone find out if that model has... well, any PCIe slots at all? PCIe, e for express. Plain PCI wouldn't cut it.

Or just learn how to build a computer, which is no more difficult than inserting one part into another compatible part. If you're able to fit a square peg into a square hole, you can build a computer, don't let the technical jargon fool you. Get a barebone system and throw in a hard drive, OS, and video card to your heart's content and revel in the fact you spent half as much to get twice or thrice the computer you have now.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

I've found that everyone knows at least 1 person who can sort out the parts for you.

I've built two computers. It's really not that hard as long you buy the appropriate RAM, video card, and processor for your motherboard. Then just follow the instructions in the motherboard manual.

Yeah, I figured that was the case. It only sucks cause I bought Skyrim on steam, and to hear that I can't upgrade the video card really has me bummed. FUCK!!!! My fault for not checking before.

I always figured I could build a pc cause I've taken a few cisco classes, but I just bought this comp. off my brother cause his wife got a new one. Oh well, maybe I can seriously look into it now.

My friends and I got into a Nintendo bitch-fest last night about how it sucks that we can't play games like Mario and Zelda without having to use shitty motion controls.
I then did some counting and in the 5 years that I've had the Wii I've played exactly 8 Wii games:
-Mario Galaxy (hated it, i hate holding the joystick in one hand, it's too wild and he zig zags right off ledges)
-Donkey Kong Country Returns
-Wii Fit
-Zelda Twilight Princess
-Zelda Skyward Sword
-Super Paper Mario
-Fire Emblem
-Smash Brothers Brawl

That's it. I use it for virtual console and netflix. I hated the N64 and Gamecube too and I kept telling myself I wouldn't let Nintendo trick me again and I did. Well fuck the Wii U. I'm not buying that shit. Nintendo you won't trick me again.

I really wish Nintendo would go the way of Sega. That way I can play Mario or Zelda on a normal controller in HD.

Don't a lot of those games have options for no-motion or are they all mandatory now?

Why did you hate N64 & Gamecube?

Waiting for AMD to announce the Radeon 7870, a video card in my price budget, and a card that exists in every way possible except in a press release and on store shelves. Odd that I want to give a company money, but I cannot.

Best video game purchase I've made in the last five years.

You couldn't turn it off on Mario or Zelda. And I hate the nunchuck. It's hard to stabilize the joystiq with just one hand and so in Mario Galaxy I'd just zig zag everywhere and then fall off the map. It sucked. I hate the Wii so god damn much. And Nintenod's whole "We have to be quirky and do something different or we won't be able to compete" attitude. Again I hope after the Wii U they become a 3rd party developer. But probably no chance of that.

I hated the 64 and GC because aside from the first party Nintendo games I could never find anything I wanted to play on it. Everything seemed better on the Playstation, PS2 and X-Box. If I had a choice between the systems I damn sure wasn't picking those.

Yeah that looks awesome Saints Fan H but where would I get the cartridges for a decent price?

Emulation is great. I think there's a handful of games that are balls on it but otherwise I love the shit out of it. You can either use their provided wireless controllers are plug in NES/SNES/Genesis controllers.

As far as finding games: Ebay, flea markets, game trader shops, pawn shops, amazon, garage sales. Shit man I live in Podunkville and have decent access to old games.

Cleaning up my computer and uninstalling shit I don't use. Uninstalling Steam games takes more effort then it should as I have to log in to my account, meaning either I wouldn't be able to do it without internet access, or it would take 2-3 minutes to time out first. Annoying. Now I can't uninstall Oblivion without putting the fucking disc in? FUCK OFF...umm...somebody! So annoying.
