Just got an e-mail that RUN-DMC are reuniting (I think their last show was last year?) for a "final" show at Yankee Stadium this summer with Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube and a plethora of other hip-hop artists. Tickets are starting at $50.

I hope DMC's heart is into it this time around.

GF and I saw The Cure last night at MSG - awesome show! Robert Smith sounds great. She's the big fan (I know mostly just the hits), this was actually the first time she's seen them in concert. She swore off big arena/stadium shows a while back, and now she's kicking herself for not seeing them previously. We did have a bit of an issue getting in, as we bought tix off this newer (?) app Gametime.co really close to show time, it took a bit before the seller transferred the tix to her, so we missed out on the first 4 or 5 songs, including "Pictures of You".

We went up in the morning and made a day of it. This was my first visit to NYC other than seeing a Phillies/Yankees game at Yankee Stadium, so I got to check off a handful of tourist things - went to the Museum of Natural History, spent time in Central Park, saw Times Square, rode on the subway. Saw a Sbarro, so did the Michael Scott "favorite New York pizza joint" bit, to her consternation.

Anyone remember Keanu Reeves' band Dogstar? They had minor success in the early 2000s but broke up when Keanu was blowing up as an actor. They recently reunited and they're touring with a show in NYC in December. Wasn't a fan of their work but a chance to see Keanu live can't be missed!

I ran into Zakk in the casino some time after the show, and I wanted to break my rule about not bothering famous people but ultimately I didn't tell him shit. He looked at me with the 'please don't' look so I left him alone. That was a tough one tbh.

Question: Is Joan Jett the only Rock and Roll Hall of Famer who isn't a particular draw on her own? The last few years for her contained nothing but supporting slots on tours with Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Bryan Adams, Heart etc.

Cheap Trick is always an opening act or second from the bottom on big classic rock package tours. They play 1k person venues if they’re headlining. They’re not struggling to make a living but definitely not a huge draw.

Also too many pre 1970 bands to mention but a lot of those guys are dead.
