Front page article in Portland Press Herald this morning about how Maine is one of the states that doesn't have a shelter in place order. Which mildly surprised me cause Governor and State CDC Director did a huge press conference last week strongly advising all of the things involved in a shelter in place order. But I guess you don't need to do an executive order cause A. the State is so spread out anyway- population wise and B. You don't need to tell us Mainers twice to stay in our houses.

They did close down York Beach, a popular summer tourist spot cause of so many out of staters coming up here this weekend. Piss off, Massholes!

me and my girlfriend drove down Biddeford Pool, which is a smaller but still fairly popular beach on Sunday to look at the ocean and it was honestly more packed then than it was in late August as tourist season was winding down. A lot of out of staters staying at their summer homes too. Like some of them didn't bring their illnesses up with them from NY or MA. :-X

In probably the best news since this all started researchers have found the virus mutates slowly.

This means a vaccine isn't going to need to be a flu like vaccine, where every year you need a different one (and some years it isn't very effective). It's going to be more like the measles vaccine. Meaning, once they develop one, it's basically end game for this.
