The state reported 599 new known COVID-19 cases on Wednesday with 22 known deaths, according to Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services, the highest recorded daily rise since the pandemic began there. As of Wednesday, the state had more than 16,460 known cases and 539 known deaths, according to the department.

The previous record in new coronavirus cases was 528 the week prior.

Keeping this brief: Wife got a swab on Thursday in advance of tumor removal surgery. They called today to let her know she tested positive. Neither of us are symptomatic. Surgery is postponed (it HAD to be this week based on the tumor medicine she was being zapped with once a month) and she's on a 2 week quarantine. I went to urgent care to get a swab and am awaiting results. I can't go to my parents' house b/c my mom is lung compromised and my niece just moved into my grandparents' empty house for the next 3 months, so I kinda don't have a place to quarantine w/o putting people really out.

I was cognizant enough to not hug any of the older people at the funeral but blankly hugged my mom, not even thinking. Been following every protocol, sanitizer, mask, only going out for essential shit. She's literally been in a hospital working masked 100% of the time, purell entering and leaving rooms, protocol, protocol, protocol. I'm starting to wonder if my doctor's visit last week for my getting winded was Covid and not "CO2" in my blood.

I tested negative, results just popped up in my email. Trying to square away what is next with work and quarantine stuff.

NY, NJ, and CT Requiring 2 Week Quarantines

This is fine in theory but how is it going to be enforceable? What if a person is coming in for something that's lasting 2-3 days and is supposed to fly back home in 6 days or a family on vacation for 4 days? No way the front desk/hotel employees are gonna be like, "Hey, you have to quarantine for 2 weeks first before you do anything in our state."
