Good to hear. Maybe have your parents/extended family get tested if possible just in case?
Every morning I'm asking my mom if she's gotten tested or if she's got symptoms. She works in a doctor's office and the doc she's got the best friendship with said not to panic. Mom's still quarantined since March in a back office due to her lung problems, so any sort of symptom will raise the panic alarms. Meanwhile, Mom's reverse stressing over me because of my heart issues. Neither one of us seem to be stressing over our own selves.

I really don't think I'm getting to Florida any time soon. 9000 cases yesterday. That's basically what Ontario has had total since May 1 (we had 111 yesterday). What are you guys doing down there? Trudeau better keep the borders closed for a long time.

Contact Tracing Not Going Well per Fauci

"Rather than developing a coordinated national tracing plan, which some countries, such as Germany, have done, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has sought instead to support local efforts.

Earlier this week, CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield testified that about 27,000 or 28,000 people are doing contact tracing work across the country. He later acknowledged that he estimates the necessary workforce to be about 100,000 tracers. Former CDC Director Dr. Tom Frieden thinks the country will need even more, up to 300,000."

Apparently nothing. Florida and Texas are shutting down bars again. I wish someone would've been around to tell them this as a horrible idea in the first place to reopen bars.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

We just opened outdoor patios like a week ago. Indoors are still closed and have been since March.

We did get a call from the state version of CDC asking us for names and numbers (if possible) of any and all contact the days before finding out about the positive. Which, we'd already done our own notifications, but there's some form of regulatory agency here making some sort of an attempt.

LOL. Does he not realize that before a vaccine polio crippled the world for years and killed millions upon millions? It wasn't building up an immune response that stopped it dipshit.

MA announced 373 positive cases today, the most since June 9th or thereabouts. Obviously this is probably post-protests but it's still fairly worrisome considering the numbers prior were in the mid to high 100s.

"Cases are growing by 5% or more based on a seven-day average in 34 states across the U.S., including Arizona, Texas, California, Florida and Nevada.

There were 45,255 additional Covid-19 cases reported across the nation on Friday, bringing the total to more than 2.46 million cases, according to Johns Hopkins data. As of Friday, the U.S. seven-day average of new cases increased more than 41% compared with a week ago. It was still above 40% on Saturday."

I was shocked that no one was talking about Low-KI in the wrestling folder. I should’ve known Low-Ki’s beliefs are hard hitting enough to make CURRENT EVENTS in 2020.

I think Dax Harwood (Scott Dawson) had one of what was the best responses to these kind of posts.

Divorces in Saudi Arabia have risen by 30 per cent in the month of February after the quarantine during the coronavirus pandemic caused many wives to discover that their husbands had other wives and families, cording to the Dubai-based news site Gulf News.

There's always another side to COVID

good news everybody!

A new strain of flu that has the potential to become a pandemic has been identified in China by scientists.

It emerged recently and is carried by pigs, but can infect humans, they say.

The researchers are concerned that it could mutate further so that it can spread easily from person to person, and trigger a global outbreak.

While it is not an immediate problem, they say, it has "all the hallmarks" of being highly adapted to infect humans and needs close monitoring.

As it's new, people could have little or no immunity to the virus.

The scientists write in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that measures to control the virus in pigs, and the close monitoring of swine industry workers, should be swiftly implemented.

Jefferson Parish (basically New Orleans metro area but not the city limits) instituted mandatory masks today. Luckily everyone I know in that area is sensible and not MAGA-holes.

States Slowing Re-Openings, Covid May Be Hard to Control Now

"They're trying to see if they can do this surgically, meaning just close bars or 50% restaurants and encourage use of masks or in some cases mandate masks and stop short of that full lockdown," said Dr. Peter Hotez, dean for the national school of tropical medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. "What's the evidence that that will work?"

"The number of hospital beds could become inadequate in the next few weeks," Ghaly said. The county has only enough ventilators to last four weeks, and projections show a marked increase in mortality rates, Ghaly said. In Southern California's Riverside County, about 96% of all intensive care unit beds are in use, officials said Monday."
