The NL Central is trash. Now the Cubs seem to be the team absolutely struggling. They've lost 19 of their last 26 games and the bullpen is absolutely atrocious. David Ross' handling of said bullpen is also horrible and I'm tired of people making excuses for this guy because he's nice and was apart of the World Series team. He's a very bad manager and is still making the same mistakes he did in his first year.

That loss last night was a complete and total disaster. The Astros are a bad offensive team and that bullpen just served meatball after meatball in the late innings. Completely inexcusable.

From MVP Baseball 2004.

When was this game made? Cabrera had won a World Series and was in Rookie of the Year contention in ‘03!

Rays are at 90 HR in 47 games... crazy feat. Fun Fact: Pete Alonso is pacing the MLB with 17 HR while hitting just .233.

It's really a testament to the Padres that in 50+ years of existence no matter who they've brought in they have never managed to be the slightest bit interesting.

Oakland through 48 games has a -168 run differential, still the worst to start a season. The modern record is apparently the 1932 Red Sox at -349. I look at the Sox starting lineup that season and see one name I recognize (Smead Jolley). One name I know from the pitching staff, another in their bullpen, it's a rough team. It's amazing that people question if black players could make it in the majors when the bottom feeders have players like Rabbit Warster. It's one thing to compare players to the stars of the league. But the majors had a lot of bad players too, and there's no way Willie Wells or Dick Lundy weren't better than this.

He’s still no Kyle Schwarber.

Had a thought exercise. Who would you rather have. Schwarber or Dave Kingman?
Schwarber (only because he can get on base more) but if you had made me choose between Schwarber and Rob Deer, that'd have been a much tougher call.

‘98 team that got swept by the Yankees in the World Series was mildly interesting. They had a white guy named Khalil Greene in the ‘00s. That’s about it. Are their ‘80s brown and mustard yellow uniforms interesting?

From what I've seen of the Athletics, they don't look like, bumbling incompetant idiots on the field. They're just completely outmatched. Their record through fifty games is maybe tied for the worst in modern history (depending on how you count ties). Their team run differential through 50 is the worst in modern history. Their team runs allowed is fifth worse, this is the point of the season where the '96 Tigers built an insurmountable lead. It's perversely entertaining to watch because they're not just bad but you feel like you're watching something historic. It feels like a let down when they only lose by two runs or god forbid, actually win.

We all know about the Cleveland Spiders, so here's a note. The 1932 Red Sox have the modern record for worst run differential, -349. That's worse than the '62 Mets who lost 120 games or any other team you can throw out there. The 1899 Cleveland Spiders? -723. Incredible ineptitude. Interesting to look at the 1897-98 St. Louis Browns though and remember owners essentially flipped those rosters to Cleveland.

The Texas Rangers have the best run differential in the game. Better than the Rays. They are playing like an elite team. They def. seem for real.

The Cubs continue to completely freefall. Just got swept by The Reds and are currently the worst team in the National League. I wasn't expecting the team to contend this year, but I at least wanted some fun baseball to watch. This is just depressing.

They are still in the NLC. Give it another week and they can just as easily be in first place.

And Marcus Stroman throws a 1 hitter against the Rays today of course!
