WCW era Vincent/Curly Bill/MIKE JONES has to be bottom 10 all time worst guys to work for a major promotion. Definitely somewhere with Col Mustafa, General Adnan, and pennyback era Nikolai Vokoff (sorry @Baby Shoes ). Idk even know what the hell he was trying to do here.

While he was never good, he at least seemed athletic and moved around the ring well during his WWF run. What the hell happened in the 2-3 years in between those runs that turned him into a completely uncoordinated goof!? Too much meat sauce?

It’s funny because I had been a mark for Virgil as a kid. He was one of the first Hasbro figures I wanted and I didn’t start watching wrestling until he was basically already a jobber. I remember being so confused when he was in WCW but not wrestling. Seeing this, I now fully understand why and also wonder what happened.

It may be rose colored goggles or Mandela Effect of something. I tried looking for a gif of Virgil doing something athletic and just found clips of a RAW match versus Razor where he moved better than the WCW clip but still wasn’t looking that athletic.

I remember that the old DVDMB crew/current Segunda Caida crew were always saying that Vincent/Mike Jones/Vince/Curly Bill was one of the more underrated workers on WCW Saturday Night in 98/99, and I would say "Yeah, okay" in my head when I read that.

With all the jobber tag teams that poured in late 89-91 I'm surprised Herd didn't just push it to life.

There was a hunchback "Quasimodo" wrestler in the 60s-ish.

It just depressed me realizing Vince Russo was almost 40 when he wrote for WCW. I assumed he was a good 5-10 years younger. I know the old clichés about all men being internally 12 years old but it is dispiriting knowing that the guy who thought "Hugh G. Rection" was an absolutely hilarious idea that should be put on national TV was 39 years old!

Fuck yeah, the entire TV title scene from April to July was epic. I think that was the first time in my young fandom that I "got" technical wrestling and how psychology worked from match to match.
