Also wanted to note that people who are going to stick around begin to drop people they no longer want / need (or are thinking of replacing thru the draft) into the FA pool before the draft. If not, the game will just drop random people off of your team to make room for who you pick up. In one league, I ended up having Jerious Norwood and a few others fall into the FA pool.
PS: Hey Matt, can we add anyone right now or are we waiting for the draft to take place before we sign anyone?

I'd like to hold the draft this weekend if possible. Tomorrow or Saturday night is best, since there's a TNA PPV on Sunday and I'd imagine some people such as Vitamin X will have Valentine's Day plans. If this weekend doesn't work, Monday would be okay.

The draft board is currently viewable. The highest rated rookie is an 85 overall quarterback. There's also a halfback named Leron James.

Looking ahead to the 2010 draft, here's how things break down.
Without question, consensus #1 overall selection is Jack English, the top-rated quarterback on my board; cannon for an arm, shows good mobility and decision making, projects very well to the next level. Another first-round selection at quarterback is Kelly James; not quite the mobility of English but he'll get the job done in a more pocket-passing-oriented system. Same goes for Dane Morrow, same basic quarterback, not a lot of mobility but good decision-making, patient in the pocket, nice size, stands in there & delivers the football. James & Morrow most likely 1st round selections but there's no way they get past early round 2.
Another potential top 5 selection is defensive back Jawan Williams. There's no questioning his ability on the field, but he broke his leg & missed most of his senior year so durability is a factor. That hurts his draft stock a little bit, will probably cost him a year or two on his rookie contract, but he looked ready to go at the combine, doesn't appear he's lost a step of that trademark speed.
We go now to Alain Jackson, the man-mountain at defensive tackle. He's most likely going to end up as a 3-4 defensive end just based on his pass rusher ability; also a bit undersized for the 3-4 defensive tackle slot, but look for a 3-4 defensive squad to snatch this guy up with their top pick.
The most stable pick available in the top 5 would have to be Javon Jackson at left tackle, a classic Jon Ogden/Tony Boselli mold, draft this kid, slot him at left tackle & watch him rack up the Pro Bowl nominations. This kid's the Ronco Rotisserie of the draft boards, you set it & forget it, if he's there and you haven't already got a franchise tackle, well, you take Javon Jackson & then you've got one.
Last but not least, somewhat of a sleeper, Jackson Hailes at defensive end. Doesn't really have the size you're looking for at defensive end these days but he's got a lot of speed; questions about his durability after tearing his pectoral muscle in the bowl game, but still on talent alone a solid top-5 selection. Projects very well at the next level, some might question his work ethic, but from what I've seen that won't be a problem for this kid.

Curious Matt, but how exactly are roster hold overs going to work? Do we get a set amount like say 35? And then fill in 20 spots or what?
Also: Anytime is fine as long as I know it before hand.
Futhermore: The league is currently telling me that I'm banned. WTF? Its TSM Football League right?

Also, Sunday is out of the question as it's probably going to be for anyone here with a girlfriend.

Okay. I'll re-invite you. Just make sure you join ASAP. Why, you ask? Because, in the interest of not wasting anymore time, the draft will begin at 8:30 P.M. Pacific time/11:30 Eastern time Monday night since that will be shortly after Raw ends. If you can't make it, the CPU will draft automatically based on the best player available. To be honest, I find the draft tedious and will likely let the CPU draft my team, even though I will be available to do it manually.
But Broward (and others), wait till I give the go-ahead before signing free agents. I don't want them all to be scooped up by one team. If anyone has a suggestion as far as how to make free agency fair to all, please let me know.

Just a heads up to those of us like myself who have access to the internet but not an Xbox at that time, if you can log in to the Online Madden Franchise thing, you can do the draft from there I believe. I will have access to my 360 in the later rounds of the draft (i.e. after 9:15 or so) and for those who may not have much more added incentive to stick around for those, I'll be on voice chat! If we're not done before then, anyways.

Ok, I'm a little upset that I had like 15 seconds to react to the draft and didn't draft exactly whom I wanted.
But I got to draft Julian Craft in the FIFTH round. ^_^ I can't complain too much.

Sorry I fucked up the first round. The way the option was worded made it sound like I was choosing how long before the draft started, not the pick time. I fixed it and set it to the longest for the remaining rounds.
All in all, it took maybe 20 minutes. I'm not totally sure who was there, but I think it was just VX, Broward, and Flik with me. Fazzle and CanadianGuitarist said they'd be there, but I don't think they were.
Anyway, you can play your week 1 matchups starting now. The only user vs. user game is fazzle vs. Kinsey.

I forgot one thing- each team may sign 1 free agent for right now. Also, you may want to check your depth charts since the game automatically releases the 7 lowest rated guys on your team to make room for rookies. In addition to your 1 free agent, you are allowed to re-sign your players who got cut as long as you release one of your newly drafted players.
EDIT: Broward, you read my mind. I had no backup QBs besides my kicker and punter, so I signed Billy Volek. I hope he never has to play a down.
