TSM Madden NFL 10 League- Season 2, Week 11

Bills improve to 11-0 with a 24-0 defeat of the Bears. Chicago had something like 50 total yards going into the third quarter.

Edwards went 11/18 for 143 yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT. Evans and Parrish both only caught one pass each, but they were both for scores. McIntyre had a 1 yard run for the other TD of the game.

Bills D had 4 sacks and forced 2 turnovers.

yo, so I started my game over because I had picked the wrong playbook twice. Anyways I eeked out a win over the Rams playing a different version of the 3-4 I switched over from and I have to say it's working really well for my run defense. My pass defense started getting burnt later (which usually happens when you shut down the run and you take a big lead) and I was playing with a different offensive playbook and finally got Hasselbeck on track after last week's disaster in Oakland. Girley had a bit of a disappointing game by his standards, but he did what needed to be done to win.

Also, am I like the only one who can run the ball? I'm totally owning the league in rushing yards by a good 300-400 yards. I think my nearest human opponent is half my total.

I don't think the stats tell the whole story of how good someone is at passing or not in this league. I'm a pretty efficient passer (well, until this year anyways) and a decent runner, but I also use up clock sometimes and play to win instead of just try to rack up stats like fazzle and Broward do. I have way more fun having a dominant defense then racking up 3000 yards or whatever.

Fuck you talkin' bout? I'm the fuckin Texans..do you not notice how all they do is throw the ball? I'm not the best runner anyway so I'd rather just air it out and give myself a comfortable lead so I can tweak certain things with my D.

If you want me to play for stats, I can do that.

TSM Madden NFL 10 League- Season 2, Week 11

Had a hell of a game yesterday. My defense is stepping up great, I haven't given up a defensive touchdown in the last 2-3 games but I have no idea what's going on with me offensively. Basically I switched to a more dink and dunk, ball-hogging early 00's Patriots offense to complement my defense but then I'm not putting up huge numbers and blowouts over crappy teams like I was before. Last night I was doing well in the Carolina game until my running back fumbled and they returned it for a touchdown and then gave up a punt return TD as well with about 2 minutes left and they were able to tie the game at 17 with about a minute left. Then I come back down the field and with 15 seconds left, hit Deion Branch for like a 65 yard touchdown to seal the deal. Super exciting game in the second half.

edit: Holy shit, I was just looking something over here. Dating back to Week 4, I have only given up 3 offensive touchdowns. In eight games. God damn. Just gotta work on my offense now...

TSM Madden NFL 10 League- Season 2, Week 11

So I tried changing up my offense and defense to see if I could improve my team somewhat.

First of all, I switched Harry Douglas and Jamarion Bellows to new positions. Douglas went to slot receiver, Bellows went to #2 wideout. That actually did some good for Harry as he had 97 yards receiving. The bad news? White was totally double teamed which caused two INTs, and Bellows was a total non-factor. So yeah, I'm not screwing with my offense after this game.

Turner was as Turner does, 19 touches, 194 yards, 2 TDs. I swear I just know how to run the ball at this point. I mean really, I'm averaging like 180 yards on the ground a game, I'm sure. I'll check on that stat when I get out of the game.

The second switch I made was defensively. I've got all these wonderful DTs, so I decided to try playing the 43 defense, since that's originally how the Falcons are built. Surprisingly we did very well. However, I noticed that I've got some players who can play a 34 defense and some that can play a 43 defense. But I think I'll go back to 34 since I like playing that defense more than 43.

BTW after this game, Turner is up to 1903 yards rushing on 216 touches, with 19 scores for the season, a yards per carry of 8.8 and averaging exactly 173 yards per game. I don't think you can tell me that there's a more deserving MVP out there.

I'll admit that if it wasn't for Turner averaging nearly 9 yards a carry, it would be Mario's MVP to lose. I think the YPC is the only thing that puts Turner ahead.

Man, I lost connection with fazzle at the beginning of our game, but it worked fine when we restarted. I did have the game freeze 2 other times against different people, though. Fucking Madden.

TSM Madden NFL 10 League- Season 2, Week 11

I played my game with Minnesota. After a scoreless first half by both teams, I scored 14 in the 3rd on a TD pass to Driver and an awesome 67 yard run by Ryan Grant. I generally get jack shit with him in the running game, so that was a nice surprise.

The Vikings got me with a 95 yard kickoff return for a TD and converted for 2, but those were their only points of the game. I put up another touchdown and a field goal and won easily.

Only bps has yet to play, and he's doing that later today. I know I said the deadline would be midnight Eastern time, but it will be more like 1 A.M. Eastern when I advance, most likely, since I'll be watching the Kings' playoff game.

EDIT: Apparently, I'm the first one to clinch a playoff sport. I have clinched the NFC North.

Yeah, it does suck. I wish Loaded Glove was still in as Minnesota. That dude became a recluse. He posted about a breakup with a girl, and then he disappeared. He did respond to an XBL message I sent him months ago, but these days, he has his XBL set to show him as offline all the time. The only reason I know he's been on is because I looked at his profile and saw recent achievements for MLB 2K10.

Was ugly early on but all the momentum seemed to shift Houston's way when at the end of the 1st half, Houston tied it up when Schaub hit Owen Daniels for a TD. After that, Houston began to work the aerial game as Schaub had over 450yds passing. Mario continued on his run for league MVP with a 4 sack, 6 sack, 1 INT game..next week, Houston takes on Jacksonville and Steve Slaton will return to the active roster while Andre Johnson looks to hopfully return by Wk. 17..
