First impressions:

I reloaded my mass effect 1 save during the Soverign fight to see what decisions i made and it seems my Paragon decided to kill the council and kayden. So thats the game im currently playing in ME2.

I dont like the new HUD, i liked having all 3 health/shield being down in the lower left corner, now its in the middle bottom. The combat is still the same, but i dont remember having to collect thermal clips aka bullets for the pistols. Perhaps i was just used to the recharging riffles.

All in all, im enjoying it.

As for those leaked DLCs that Microsoft F'd up on and gave away all the preorder and collector's edition bonuses without having to...you know preorder or buy the collector's edition...

I can confirm to Tong (and if anyone else got in on it...which I hope they did) that as soon as you can change your appearance all the downloaded armors are there. I thought at first it didn't work since when you unlock the cerberus network the only things that it said I had were the Blood Dragon Armor (which I would have gotten from Dragon Age) and the downloadable mission that was available for free at launch anyway.

But once I got through a bit of the game and was able to change my armor I had the options of Blood Dragon, Inferno, Collector Chitin and Terminus. If you choose to keep your regular armor the Sentry interface, Umbra visor and Recon hood are available under helmets.

I haven't gotten to the point where I've looked where to see if the extra weapons are unlocked...but since everything else is they must be.

So...SCORE.

Ive been hammering this home for my second day now, and an hour ago got the "insert disk 2" shit.

The game so far is go to "A" and locate potential team-mate. Only had one battle with the "collectors" who are this games reaper fuck buddies. Im hoping it all picks up soon, cause ive spend a day of just going planet to planet and recruiting.

I have an EA account on my Xbox, but I don't know what it is. How do I find out?

Im approaching the end of my mass effect 2 journey. 3 days of non stop playing and i feel like ive accomplished nothing. The entire game is indeed Recruit team mates, talk to them and then do their personal quest. The game feels like its setting up Mass Effect 3 more than anything.

Its a shame the game has been turned into a space Gears of War with some upgradeable abilitys.

Who is everyone using in their party? I like all the characters but can't seem to find the best fit. Spoilers only about party members below.

I'm playing as a soldier. I've been using Garrus since I got him. I've tried using Grunt, Jack, Miranda but the best fit seems to be Zaeed. That leave no biotics except for Garrus's overload, but it doesn't matter. Anyone else feel biotics just aren't as effective in this game?

Continuation of Angle-Plexs spoilers.

Ive been using a mix between Tali/Grunt/Miranda/Jack. Samara has some nice biotics, but i just dont like her character. Im still trying to upgrade everyone tho, because it all has reason when I hit the suicide mission.

More party member spoilers

Just like I suspected, once I got Thane, he's taken over a slot. He's fucking deadly with his sniper rifle, and his biotics make him just that much better. Garrus is taking my other slot because of his overload ability and out of loyalty since he was a companion throughout the first one.

Miranda needs to STFU and put Shepards dick in her mouth already. Getting laid in real life doesn't take this much effort. Where's the option for "have sex with me now of I push you out of an airlock".

Mining is so boring, you're pretty much forced to get that advanced mineral scanner upgrade. I literally probably spent an hour mining yesterday.

I found the mining strangely enthralling once I got the advanced scanner. Just took it a hemisphere at a time in a zig zag pattern and you can knock out a planet fairly quickly. Having trouble finding element zero, I hope the later upgrades don't cost a ton.

As a soldier, I'm using Jack and Miranda just so I've got a nice balance. Tali is the first of the second tier of recruits I've gotten though, so Samara or Thane might still change my mind.

Anyone else seen Mordin exhibit his special talent yet? Hilarious.

See to me mining is just there to artificially inflate the game time. It's like we've got 50 hours of gameplay, great too bad 5-10 hours is spent on boring stuff like mining. For me personally for the next game I think they should cut down on the number of planets and instead focus on actually having more stuff to do on the remaining planets. I want to shoot stuff and do sidequests not play Space Miner Simulation.

The problem is that would take away from the "huge, universe spanning threat" Shepard is supposed to be fighting. To me it would seem to lose some if it's foreboding if they limited it to Shepard fighting the Geth or the Collectors in one or two galaxies.

I accept space mining in principle because it makes sense that they'd have to find what they need to survive.

However you should be able to purchase this stuff on developed planets where they would surely be mined for profit.

I'm sure GameFaqs already has the chart from the back of the strat guide up that tells you which planets have which minerals and how rich or poor each is on the planet..

Well, just beat it on the Hardcore difficulty. Now to start up Insane difficulty with my level 30 guy. I think I might try a different class, I didn't even bother using the Soldier's powers. Maybe a Sentinel or whatever it is that has the extra shield boost. I think I might need it. As for the ending, despite the hype I didn't lose anyone, although I can see where the game designers would write them in if needed. All in all, a great game that I'll probably beat 4 or 5 times before getting tired of it (barring some kickass DLC) and start waiting for ME 3.

I fucking hate ME2 and I haven't played it yet.

Why? Because my mother now is playing the original and totally is hoarding it over. Dammit all.

I liked Tali in the first one and am liking her even more in this one and it seems by reading some of the boards I'm not the only one as most folks are going with her over the obvious babe of this game, Miranda. Also, even though she's a cliche I like the Jack character she amuses me with her comments as she sends people flying around.

Liara was with whom I hooked up in the first game and was expecting a lot more then I got when I finally met her again. It just feels like she used me this time around to do her bidding. No emotion and just didn't feel like the same character from the first game.

I gotta say, they're building up for a real epic battle in ME 3 if you set it up the right way in 1 and 2.

It looks like Wrex is going to unite the Krogan under his rule, and he'll follow Shepard anywhere. The Admirality Board of the Quarien seems to come around to Shepard if you defended Tali by calling them out in the Paragon conversation. Legion represents what may be a minority, but still at least a segment, of Geth. And, if you saved the Rachni queen in 1, the messenger on Illium makes it sound like they're going to jump in on the "heretic" Geth, Collectors, and Reapers if called upon by Shepard.

Sounds like they may have a real epic finale brewing.

Regarding the Quarians.

The email you recieve if you paragon the tali quest is that the Quarians are going to work towards controlling the geth and no one can stop them. It would an interesting swerve if they became one of the big bads in ME3.

I'm never going to get to play this series at this rate.

Holy good fuck the suicide mission is epic.

If you want the best outcome...
you better have EVERYONE loyal with you, and thats going to take some serious persuasion when it comes to choosing between tali and legion and mirranda and jack.

I think im nearing the end of it, ill post results when i finish.

Oh and I so nailed Tali, im hardcore.

FACK! The ending just begs for Mass Effect 3 to be played. Uber cliffhanger/10.

I managed to make everyone survive the mission, which gave me a great sence of accomplishment. Roll on Mass Effect 3 so i can save the galaxy... AGAIN!

I had one person die and no saves before the start of the mission. I have to beat it again anyway...but I don't know what I was thinking not saving.
