Hey man, I like black comedy. I just watched Richard Pryor: In Concert two days ago, good sir! I own three out of four House Party on DVD. In fact, I sort of like what I've seen of Katt Williams. I'm just stating facts! Nigga, motherfucker, and white people jokes are the foundation that black stand up comedy is built on just as bad relationship and witty observations about trivial things are the foundation for our comedy!

You're a woman?

Seinfeld, Dane Cook...Same for the men as it is for the ladies.

I didn't say I personally found it funny! Frankly, I'll take a bad black comedian over a bad white comedian any day of the week, so long as I'm not the target of his white people jokes.

With MJ's funeral today, I thought I would post my favorite scene with a Michael Jackson (technically Jackson 5) song in it:

.

Wasn't too bad, but depressing when Paris spoke at the end. That is just sad to see. I really don't care what people say who the biological father is, Michael was her dad. And she looked a mess trying to just simply say "I love you dad".

I thought the memorial service was really well done. I feel really bad for his kids though, they're going to be hounded by the media for pretty much the rest of their lives. Was interesting to finally see what they looked like though.

As a tribute, I watched the South Park episode 'The Jeffersons' today...

Who was the hot blonde singing in the large group on stage?

Funny seeing Al Sharpton on stage during the group song just standing there until he saw himself on camera and then put his hands in the air like everyone else.

Hopefully they pull a Culkin and recluse from crazy Hollywood.

I never understood how people who aren't from Hollywood bitch about the media in Hollywood, and then continue to live in Hollywood. If you don't want the media hounding you all day then go to Kansas somewhere.

That's some Aussie guitar prodigy named Orianthi, she was supposed to be MJ's guitarist for the London concerts.

I didn't know she could sing too.

MJ really liked having women guitarists, I think on the Dangerous and HIStory tours the lead guitarist were women too.

Don't forget the chick with the massive hair in the "Dirty Diana" video! I don't know if she actually played guitar for him though since Billy Idol's guitarist actually played it for the song.

I was never a huge Michael Jackson fan. I can't tell you what date is his birthday, the release dates for all of his albums, the tour dates for every tour that he did, etc., but like everyone else on the planet, I've heard all of his singles, and I like pretty much all of them. The man knew how to make a catchy song. I was born in 1987, but I have quite a few Michael Jackson-related memories from my childhood too. So, it's not just those who were alive when Thriller came out who can feel nostalgic when listening to Michael Jackson songs.

Out of all of his singles, "Human Nature" is probably my favourite of his. I'm not gonna lie. I got choked up when John Mayer played it yesterday at the Memorial. Really nice, underrated song. And it's been sampled by other artists for other great songs ("Right Here", "It Ain't Hard To Tell"). "Smooth Criminal" is really, really good too. And no, the Alien Ant Farm version is NOT better than MJ's original version.

And he made some classic music videos, obviously. He has the best record when it comes to more great music videos than any other artist ever. His music videos were events. I remember both "Black Or White" and "Remember The Time" having their world premieres on prime time simulcast on Fox, MTV, VH1 and BET. I don't think that has happened for any other artist. Oh, for the days when music video premieres were treated like a big deal, and not dumped onto MTV Hits or MTV2 in the middle of the afternoon.

You know what music video of his I've always liked? "Rock With You". I know that it's a cheap looking, low budget music video, made before MJ realized that he could do something different and special with his music videos, but I've always liked it BECAUSE of its cheapness. It's just MJ standing in front of a black background with a green light behind him wearing a silver shirt, pants and boots. It's so simple it's enjoyable. It's like the anti-Michael Jackson music video. That's why it's always been a favourite of mine.

And I think you can make the case that Michael Jackson is the biggest musical icon of all-time. Bigger than Elvis Presley or The Beatles. One of the main reasons is because, as we've seen over the past two weeks, his fanbase transcends race, religion, nationality, ethnicity, sex, age. EVERYONE, young and old, knows ATLEAST *1* Michael Jackson song, and I'm pretty sure that everyone in the world likes atleast *1* song of his, which I don't think you can say for Elvis or The Beatles. Hell, how many kids today can even name one Beatles song? How many kids today even know the names of The Beatles? Yet, I'm sure every kid has heard "Bad", "Thriller", "Black Or White".

He's influenced tons of artists. Hell, every R&B singer that's come out since 1983 has been trying to imitate him, with varying degrees of success. Justin Timberlake, Ne-Yo, Usher, Chris Brown, they all wanna be Michael Jackson so badly. And it's not just music either. He's influenced countless dancers with his moves. His music videos showed how far you can go with the format. And his scandals and controversies helped in a way too. He'll probably become a bigger icon in death.

He's gotta be the biggest musical icon of all-time because his impact and influence on pop culture goes beyond music.

I don't think you can make that comparison yet. Michael Jackson was an entire generation after The Beatles so his music WOULD be more well known amongst today's youth. If you want to use the "kids today" thing, we might need to wait 20 years to see how many kids know Michael Jackson's music.

Bad is ridiculously underrated Dirty Diana, Another Part of Me and Leave Me Alone never get the love they deserve.

Paris: 'Daddy Has Been the Best Father'

I don't know why it bothers me when they're messing with the microphone.

Agreed. Seemed forced. People shoving the mic in her face and telling her to talk. Bio father or not, to her he was daddy and she shouldn't have been forced to do that, which she appeared to be. The Jackson family has not looked good in most of this.

I don't know if she was forced but the adjusting of the mic is cause she couldn't be heard when she started talking. Big deal.
How have the Jackson family not looked good in most of this? Besides Joe, of course.

It's been quite the opposite as far as that is concerned. Paris has been getting praise for being courageous and the media has been using that as proof that the Jackson kids have a relationship with the Jackson family. The Jacksons are looking like an actual family unit instead of a feuding mess because of this.

It wasn't they put the mic in front of her, she jumped onto the mic and they helped her speak. Big difference. Anyone who says the family looks bad is looking for a (slight, unrealistic)reason to hate right now.

I'm listening to the album now and you're right. I always liked the video for Leave Me Alone too. It is strange, but the message is easy to get.
