Crazy Taxi is on Xbox Live. It doesn't have the original soundtrack or the product placement but it's still fun. The soundtrack is kind of upbeat like the original.

Both Alan Wake expansions are on sale for 200MSP today. I don't understand that decision, given that quite a few more Canadians are likely to have the game come Sunday (Boxing Day sale for $20). Unless they're hoping people will pay the points now, not knowing whether or not they even like the game, or being aware of the free code for "The Signal" (assuming they didn't pull an Activision with the freebie, of course).

Does anyone get kicked from FPS games more than me? I know I am not that good and I make dumb mistakes but it isn't always my fault that the team lost.

You just have to practice! You're playing with seasoned neck-beards who take their gaming very seriously. God forbid you fuck up once in a while.

Seriously though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. From what I've seen, online gamers are a very fickle bunch, but you'll eventually find some people who just want to play for fun.

This has nothing to do with an FPS, but just a story about the obsessive nature of some online gamers. I have a friend who lives and breathes Warcraft, and is a tank for a guild. He wasn't able to raid one night, because the internet lines in our area were being serviced. The following night he logged back in for the raid and was verbally destroyed by the "guild leader" for not finding another way to participate, and "letting the team down". Of course, he sat there, took it like a bitch, and for his "punishment" he had to send apologies to all the other guild members for not being there for them. Fuck that.

Bah, I watched a dude cry because somebody he knew was going to kill off their online character in some sort of suicide. Now, far as I could tell the person controlling said online character was not committing suicide, but this kid cried like a bitch for like two hours, mostly over the phone to someone (who I do not think was the person committing such an apparently horrible act).

I am not sure how exactly that evening turned out for him or that other guy.

A lot of people got Alan Wake as a digital download with the Xbox 360 Holiday bundle, which doesn't come with The Signal.

That was a great price for the two DLCs. I enjoyed the game a lot, only the frustration of trying to beat the Writer without dying or reloading was an annoyance. Any platforming that has to be done is so awkward that falling to your death just before the end makes bps21 very angry.

That's true. Though now I'm confused all the more, because the people who got that bundle as a Christmas present would've missed out on the deal on Christmas Eve.

I believe the deals are still up on Xbox Live till the end of the year. I picked up Hydro Thunder a couple days ago and it's okay. I think the original was better on the Dreamcast.

Nope. The deals are ONE ONE ONE day only.

I think, based on the clues they give, Limbo will be on sale on Friday. Might check it out.

It's been 800 for at least a week. I bought it this morning actually.

Finished LIMBO. I think in the end I could have done without it. Cool visuals and some fun puzzle solving, but too annoying at times.

I've got about 3400 XBL points and I'm not sure what to spend them on. I was thinking Castlevania SOTN since my PS1 is wrecked, and maybe the Scott Pilgrim game, played the demo and it has a great River City Ransom feel. I'm open for suggestions.

I'm pretty sure one of the songs in that game is an attempt at a Cheetahmen remix, btw.

Yes, get it.

I just like to sit at the level select screen and enjoy that theme. The soundtrack is available on iTunes.

Super Meat Boy is great. Also if you like pinball I love the Marvel tables on Pinball FX2.

I saw the Marvel tables in Game Informer recently but looking at the article quickly, I thought it was its own game, not an add-on for Pinball FX2. I'll have to look more into them now.

I have to agree on the Super Meat Boy, frustrating but addicting. I started playing that and South Park Tower Defense recently. I downloaded them both on sale awhile back and never played and both kept me playing way longer than I realized.

Microsoft today announced Avatar Kinect a program where a bunch of avatars basically go sit in a lounge or tailgate setting and talk. The cool thing is the Kinect monitors your mouth moving and other facial movements and makes the Avatar talk, move their eyebrows, wave their hands, basically perform the movement your face makes.

It kinda makes me want to get a Kinect. Not gonna lie.

Apparently you can auto-upload the talks to YouTube. Easy to make a show or whatever.

I can't wait for the transformation of the Kinect into Skynet. We're all doomed.
