I enjoyed the last three fights, but I can see how lewis stans would be disappointed. Gane is the real deal.

Years back when I saw the line "Derrick Lewis is the best bad fighter" I haven't been able to shake it because it's basically true. He has some good wins but even in those wins he's never looked flawless or skilled which I understand is part of his appeal. Whenever he's been at a talent deficit against somebody he loses 9 times out of 10. Fighting him will always be scary because of the danger if you get hit but the gameplan is out on how to beat him and has been for a while now.

I don’t think it’s fair to say he’s a bad fighter. He’s limited in skills but he has great IQ, which is the most important thing in fighting. He didn’t finish guys like Blaydes and Volkov by a fluke.

Well he finished Volkov because Volkov was a dunce and kept throwing naked leg kicks. The read on Blaydes was good though.

But I stand by my point. The Volkov fight was ten seconds away from a UD, the splits to Nelson, Latifi and Ivanov all could have gone the other way. Even early on he got waxed by Mitrione and Jordan and I don't rate either of those dudes too highly as well.

He was green in those fights. I understand what you’re saying, but he has a 16-6 record in the UFC with two of those losses being early in his tenure. I don’t see how someone with that record at the highest level who has faced the killers he has can be bad.

Sneaky good Bellator card tonight. John Salter's UFC run was incredibly forgettable but he's gone on a really good run since and finished quality guys and he has the kind of skillset to give Mousasi problems so hopefully we see Motivated Gegard on display tonight. Andrei Koreshkov vs Sabah Homasi is guaranteed violence and Magomed Magomedov vs Raufeon Stots is a fantastic BW fight with the winner likely getting a title shot against Sergio Pettis.

Rory is broken down as fuck. Even though he accomplished a lot, it feels like he underachieved.

He was dealt a band hand I think in that he has a mean streak and enjoyed the violence but was never able to take it as good as he dished it out. It's actually incredible that he lasted until the fifth round against Lawler with his face and nose being as messed up as it was.

I think that’s a result of him turning pro too young. If he had turned pro at 21 instead and was fine tuning his skills the whole time he would be a GOAT and probably still elite.

Oh, I know that: Pacheco's sole claim to fame appears to be that she's the only opponent that Kayla hasn't stopped, even though she lost to her, twice, and was gonna lose a third time. My thing is more like, her Wikipedia entry indicates that she's a puffed-up bantamweight, so you'd think that making weight at 156 would be something that she could handle.

I put a small bet on Brunson. He always seems to get good value. I cleaned up on him when he fought Holland.

Paddy was fun to see, but damn that dude gets hit easily. Seems like he’s trying the Conor formula with the talk, and flashy fighting. I don’t see near the same success.

My guess is that they cared less about Punk losing than Steveson because they see the latter as more of a commodity.
