LOL...well I am pretty sure the SS sacks will be down a bit this season. The only reason the rushing stats are so gaudy is because the HB's are amazing and the O-Line makes it easy. I'm not all that good with the passing game, which is what screwed me in the week 1 loss last season.

The game really was close in the first quarter, I was only up 14-7. Then I remembered that I wasn't doing something against SMU. Something that I should've done at the start of the game, but I figured, oh its only a C team.

Its called playing defense. After that first quarter, I finally went to work defensively and shut them down pretty well. Crossed the 50 a few times, but I made sure no more than that.

Aaron Murray played like he was going to be drafted 1st overall. 16 of 21 for 438 yards and 7 TDs with 0 sacks. And it wasn't because SMU wasn't trying. Oh no, they brought the heat early and oft-all the time really. He really stepped up over last season, with only one errant pass. The rest were because I was stupid and threw it late or just threw it at the wrong time.

At first I was going to split the time share between my 3 HBs that are currently on my roster, but after this game, I think I'm giving the job to Thomas. He made 17 carries go for 206 yards and 3 TDs. At an insane 12.1 average its his job to lose. Though Malcome will serve as a great replacement since he went 14 for 86. Even Quinn on his two carries did nicely with 2 for 10.

And here I was worried that with the loss of my #1 and #2 wideouts I'd be screwed. More like the #3 and #5 from last season get to prove they should've been starting. Wooten had 7 catches for an insane 237 yards and Lanier had 5 for 141. The Sophomore I said was shitty, Michael Bennett (hahaha) had a single catch and got smacked around 7 times before getting dragged out at the 9 yard line for a 72 yard carry.

My defense is totally lead by my new starting DE TJ Stripling. And boy did he live up to his name. 8 tackles (5 solos), 4 for losses, and 3 for sacks. But the man lived up to his name in causing 3 fumbles (only credited for one, stupid game) and even recovered 1 (not his, funny enough). The rest of the defense was stellar too, I could go on, but I think you've heard enough.

Yeah, so I don't know why exactly I was worried. Seems like this team rocks!

We'll be moving onto week 2 since we were waiting on me. Remember to check the thread topic, I'm no longer using up a post to update we're onto the next week.

At first I was going to cry bullshit on me trouncing these teams till I realized I've done a few things differently in these two games. I've scaled back tossing the ball. You'll notice in my first game I only threw 25 times. This game I threw 16 times. Seems I'm not a good passer if I throw more than I run. I'm not sure how that works but it works for me.

What I don't understand though is how I'm beating the ever loving shit out of teams on the ground. I guess I'm just good, but when you practically run all 3rd and 4th quarter and you gain 300+ two games in a row, you really wonder about that.

I'm also wondering if my team is a lot better than last season, because this is quite unusual.

Also, UL's punter is only 47 power and can't kick worth a damn (10-20 yards at best). A certain team in our league may want to take notice of that, because you might as well go for it on 4th down in those cases.

I'm curious though to see how everyone else does this Week 2, just to see if its me or not. From what I heard testing wise, it was fine, so I'm just wondering if I had like the two bad teams of the season or something.

Army Rolls Over Ball State 52-16 - Surprised my offense now grades out at a C although my defense is still a D

QB Trent Steelman: 5/11 for 182 yards and 2 TD vs. 1 INT. 13 carries for 78 yards.
FB David Collins: 6 carries for 93 yards and 1 TD.
FB Aaron Armstrong: 6 carries for 58 yards and 1 TD.
HB Malcolm Brown: 4 carries for 39 yards and 1 TD.
HB Brady Earnhardt: 4 carries for 35 yards and 1 TD.
HB Edwin Baker: 4 carries for 20 yards and 1 TD. 2 catches for 63 yards and 1 TD.
WR Jamar Wells: 1 catch for 49 yards.
TE Patrick Laird: 1 catch for 42 yards and 1 TD.
WR Marcus Jackson: 1 catch for 28 yards.

So 6 different Army players scored a TD offensively. My kicker seems to max out at around 35 yards, making scoring TDs even more imperative. Defensively I had 3 sacks and CB Luke Shumacher dropped 4 would be interceptions.

Ball State ran for 57 yards and threw for 183 on me, including a meaningless late TD.

Haha... I figured out my kickoffs alone land at the 18 yard line if I'm lucky, 20 more often than not. Field Goal range is 19-35 yards although I haven't had to punt yet so I'm not sure how bad that'll be.

I can scale the sliders while in the season. If people think facemasks are being called too much, I can scale it back from 60 to 55. I'd like to say though that the only time I've seen it called is when its an actual face mask.

The problem is that EA really F'd up penalties. A lot of the face masks/holdings get called on kick offs so if you kick off a handful of times, you'll likely get a penalty called in at least half of those.

I wouldn't mind scaling them back either. I've also found the CPU gets penalties called on them far more than my team so it seems to hurt the CPU more than me anyway (which can result in easier wins).

To Oldskool: That was the first thing I did and unfortunately, my K/P are the two "best" with their upper 40's numbers.

Temple had 19 penalties for 179 yards! Army only had 2 penalties for 30 yards.

Army attempted just 3 passes all game, going for 63 yards.
