I lost to 1-5 UCLA. I don't know what happened. Couldn't run, threw three interceptions, and gave up two long touchdown passes.

Ask Cartman for advice, he layed 117 on Auburn, for god's sake. I'd suspect him of exploiting the CPU if he hadn't, y'know, rolled me by 30 the one time I had to play him.

Texas A&M survives a scare and gets through Texas Tech 42-19.

Sorry to hear that Bored. Looks like it'll be Cartman vs oldskool for the NC baring me playing an upset in the SEC game.

oldskool, how was a 42-19 win a scare? That doesn't make any sense?

Also can I please get feedback on the settings I posted a post ago? I'm likely implementing them next season.

The Auburn game was insane, 4 picks and 4 fumble recoveries with 5 of those resulting in touchdowns. Never had that dominant of a defensive game before and it just felt really easy. Alabama, on the other hand, was a pain in my ass. I ended up getting some seperation in the 4th finally as it was 55-24 I think when it froze.

Yeah Cartman. Alabama is a bitch to play year in and year out. I never have an easy game with them.

Here's how my offline dynasty is going using the AI Sliders that Flik posted. I'm using Western Michigan who are pretty much D overall. For the most part, I've gotten blown out by B rated teams and have had tough as hell games against good C rated teams and in rivalry games.

Again, I'm playing in the MAC conference. Not exactly the toughest conference in the game and yet I'm lucky to be 7-3 at the moment as opposed to 5-5 or even 4-6.

Michigan State: L 35-13
Baylor: L 21-16
Toledo: W 34-7
Idaho: W 35-21
Ball State: W 28-6
Notre Dame: L 49-30 (Had to resort to passing to make the score semi-respectable)
Akron: W 31-24 (A comeback win)
Northern Illinois: W 38-35 (Another comeback win)
Central Michigan: W 28-25 (Yep, 3rd straight comeback win)
Eastern Michigan: W 45-16 (First real win that felt like a blowout)

Defensively I've allowed an average of 205 yards passing and 98 yards rushing a game for a total of 303 yards. That's including the less than stellar competition I've faced. So if you're playing in a tougher conference ala the Pac-10, Big 12, or SEC, expect to have a tough as hell time winning games throughout the season.

It was quickly 7-0 Tech, and then 13-7 (they shanked an extra point, the influx of shitty kickers because of when we started continues to pay dividends). It was 21-19 late in the first half (they blew a 2pt conversion try), and at that point I hadn't stopped them once. Hence, a scare.

Second half I just ran all over them though. My #3 pass defense rating is going way, way down, though :( Stupid air raid. How dare they continue to mix run and pass to befuddle my poor defenders.

Man, its like the week of everyone struggling. I just beat Florida 35-31, after I was down 21-7 heading into the final quarter. Two offense, one defense, and a special teams defense TD later, I'm getting out of this game with the W. Totally stole it.

My offense played like crap today. While I might've had a good day playing QB, I practically had to use every trick in the book to get those passing yards. As for rushing, I was totally stuffed by Florida, with Chase getting repeatedly hit in the backfield.

My defense though, damn did they come to play. Only allowed 22 yards rushing, and while we did give up 440 yards passing, I take the blame for that as I blew a 35 yard TD tackle, and a 90 yard TD tackle. However, they did the job in the fourth quarter when I needed them, getting 3 fumbles, and 7 sacks. I think they deserve the hugest praise.

Well with LSU's thrashing of 'Bama 77-37, I think its time we move onto Week 11. Since I know no one bothers with the main post, here's the remaining schedules of the season:

Week 14
Army @ Navy
Michigan @ LSU
Stanford @ Cal
Texas A&M @ Utah

Week 13
Army @ Baylor
Georgia @ Georgia Tech
Arkansas @ LSU
Notre Dame @ Stanford
Texas @ Texas A&M

Week 12
Notre Dame @ Army
Auburn @ Georgia
LSU @ Ole Miss
Stanford - Bye Week
Baylor @ Texas A&M

Week 11
#1 LSU @ #13 Army
#5 Miami @ #6 Georgia
Washington State @ #16 Stanford
#3 Texas A&M @ Oklahoma

Highly improbable, but it looks like that Georgia still has a chance to make it to the big dance again this year as a two loss team, and also do it with a 100+ bad defense (no really, its that bad).

Looks like the remainder of the season will be interesting to watch unfold. Also, looks like we might have a user vs user game if Texas A&M doesn't screw up.

I'm winning ugly right now, but I'm still winning. With a 100th+ worst defense, I improve my record to 8-2 this week, beating Miami with a hail mary TD in the final minutes to go.

What's really hilarious about my last two games is that I've scored 45 points in the 4th quarter, compared to the 17 points in the other quarter. Now if only I could get my team to play like that the rest of the time.

Hey, Cartman. I'm good anytime tomorrow from 4 PM ET on and Sunday preferably anytime before or after the Colts/Pats game.

Been battling a cold for the past week so hopefully I'll be feeling better by the weekend.

I have also had the bug recently, not good times. Not sure if I will be able to get the game in tomorrow but definitely could sunday morning or after the Pats game.

Hey, whoa, I'm #3? Quite the jump.

Flew right over Georgia with Stanford & Utah (damn Utes I needed you highly ranked for the jump over Ohio State!) plummeting this week. Might still make it with what appears to be 5 top 25 games in a row, including a conference title game. Or maybe I'll get real lucky and Cartman will falter ahahahaha yeah right cartman never falters.

HarleyQuinn will probably give you at least a fit Cartman. I'm not sure if he'll beat you though.

God, I need some good corners. My team's secondary sucks.

A&M rumbles through Oklahoma 34-7. Starting QB & HB both suffered rib injuries that cost them most of the game but the backups did well enough to hold out (including a clutch handoff by the punter subbing as the #3 QB when the backup went out with a temporary injury!).

LSU Steam Rolls Army 63-31

Had a more than respectable showing considering I couldn't run the ball and really couldn't defend the pass. Basically ate Cartman up with the Air Raid, getting a few big plays early on, before having to resort to "dink and dunk" drives for a TD and FG. Fun experience overall though. Uploaded several highlights as well.

QB Frank Wright: 36/56 (64.3%) for 481 yards and 4 TD vs. 3 INT
RB Edwin Baker: 6 carries for 32 yards. 8 catches for 70 yards.
WR Marcus Jackson: 12 catches for 159 yards and 2 TD.
WR Geoff Bacon: 6 catches for 168 yards and 1 TD.

Defensively I had sacks by LB Joel Williams and SS Hampton Hughes.

Army Lands Lots of Recruits
** = C Dwayne Clark, G Jon Nixon, DT Jonathan Lambert, OLB Lance Mackey
* = T Corey Pruitt, OLB Marcus Garrett, CB Jason Jackson, FS Joe Hill, FS Wes Sullivan

Good game sir. I really need to work on my defense vs. humans as I can't stop anyone with exception of a few lucky turnovers.

Okay, I don't know why nor how, but suddenly my defense shows up huge against Auburn, winning 30-7, and allowed only 19 for 85 and 11 of 19 for 167 and 1 TD.

What the hell is going on? Oh well, hopefully I impressed a ton of my possible recruits.

Notre Dame Stomps Army 50-38

Yeah... B rated squad vs. D rated squad? You do the math. Their RB literally ran all over me at will and basically wrecked me. He ran for 325 on 16 carries and 5 TD.

QB Frank Wright: 42/73 (57.5%) for 503 yards with 3 TD vs. 2 INT
RB Edwin Baker: 13 carries for 82 yards and 1 TD. 8 catches for 55 yards and 2 TD.
WR Lonnie Liggins: 7 catches for 81 yards.
WR Geoff Bacon: 7 catches for 79 yards.
TE Brandon Wesley: 6 catches for 85 yards.
WR Aaron Armstrong: 5 catches for 68 yards.
WR Marcus Jackson: 3 catches for 57 yards.

Defensively I had a sack by DE Marlon Lemon. SS Thomas Hurst had 2 INT including one returned for a TD.

Ripped Baylor something fierce. Next ones are the big ones though, Texas & @Utah, with a Big XII title game should I get by UT.

I gotta say for a guy who had 4 turn overs, you still managed that. Kinda impressive considering 3 of those were INTs.

Holding them to sub-20% 3rd down conversions and 1 yard per carry helped tremendously. Also helpful: all the INTs were on downfield passes so I wasn't giving up tons of field position in the process. But damn if I didn't have a case of forget-how-to-pass last night, I threw 3 in my new offline dynasty as well.

Congrats on that oldskool, you probably won't lose than when you make it to the NC. Assuming you find a way to jump Ohio State.

Heh... Well, when the new settings are in, you'll probably throw a pick every time you are stupid. Its amazing how less stupid with passing I've become on the new settings.

Now if only Pistol's run offense wasn't fucking broken due to EA slapping on a stiffer animation that buggers up run plays (due to everyone just eating up yards because its shorter to the line). I'm finding a lot of success passing with it offline and I would've loved to switch to it, but that stiffer animation delays the handoff by a whole freaking second or two and then everyone's in the backfield. Stupid EA.

The issue with the handoffs in the Pistol formation is due to the QB keeping the exact same animation on normal Pro style handoffs. This is more noticeable on Slams, Dives, etc.

On outside runs (e.g. Stretch plays), the QB actually turns and takes a step towards the RB (despite the RB being CLOSER to the QB), probably in an effort to help give time for the blockers to get to their defenders. On HB Counters, the QB literally turns around before handing off to the RB, again taking up time. What's worse is the QB basically does a 360 opposite of the HB's direction.

From under center, the QB tends to keep both hands on the ball then "jams" it into the gut of the RB. The issue is that the dropback of the QB is just too damn slow so by the time you've taken the handoff, the DL is already on top of the RB.

Tried testing with a 95 Acceleration QB. Same deal. For whatever reason, everything in the Pistol is slow when it comes to handing the ball off. From what I've seen of the videos though, it's drawn up exactly how Nevada does it so... it's probably slower just to give time for blockers to get their blocks setup. Unfortunately this doesn't carry over to the game very well.

Since I'm up, I advanced us to Week THIRTEEN! And what a week. We've got the now unranked Army taking on Baylor and trying to regain their top 25 ranking. We've got #7 Texas at 10-1 (7-1) taking on #3 Texas A&M 10-0 (7-0) and if Texas A&M loses, they ain't making the Big XII championship game!

And we've also got LSU and Stanford beating on some scrubs; while Georgia probably some how makes a miracle come back. Seriously, that defense will probably not show up for a full game again.

And with my last game of this regular season, I may try pulling out my new playbook one year earlier than I planned.

The Week 13 Schedule

Game of the Week: Texas (10-1) @ Texas A&M (10-0)
Georgia 31, Georgia Tech 24 - Looks like Flik got lucky in this game. Gave up 192 on the ground and threw 2 INT. Worth noting is Flik won thanks to an insane kick return TD with 0:38 left.
Baylor (6-5) @ Army (6-4)
Notre Dame (4-5) @ Stanford (9-1)
Arkansas (3-7) @ LSU (10-0)

Army Lands Several Recruits
*** G Jake Lopez - 6'6" 297
** CB Erik Owens - 6'2" 187
** QB James Johnson - 6'1" 209
** CB Arthur Scott - 5'11" 170
* CB Chase Harrell - 6'1" 187

That currently puts Army at 85 on the signings list. I have 18 players signed total thus far.
