AW YEAH FINALLY

Donkey Kong Country Returns is at 4.2 million in (worldwide?) sales. Nintendo is about to just make badass cartoony platform games all the time I hope.

Personally I love the fact that Nintendo has started to move away from motion controls as soon as the other 2 companies started to invest in them.

What was the original concept on the Factory?

A bunch of retro themed levels, including a Virtual Boy tribute red and black silhouette level. Check the link I posted a page or two back.

Forgot to mention on the New Super Mario Bros. discussion: Does anyone else find some parts of the DS version harder than the Wii version? I especially noticed this when I got to World 8.

The DS version is harder in some parts because shaking it just makes you feel like you're gonna break the DS instead of getting an extra split second of hang time.

Having yet to play the Wii version...

Can you still store items?

That's how I plowed through the DS version...except for the two parts to get the other paths by having a mini mushroom on hand, I always kept a Mega Mushroom in storage, then let it loose on boss fights for one hit kills.

The Wii version is Mario 3 style with an inventory on the map screen.

Answer: Don't play Madden on Wii.

So true...I gave Madden 10 a shot, the first version to introduce the cartoony players...super underwhelming, the control scheme sucked (I'm pretty sure there wasn't an option to use the CC), couldn't create or edit players, no weather, just a bad game.

Yeah, Madden 11 on the Wii is horrible. I was visiting my brother for 2 weeks in November and he has a PS3, so we played A LOT of Madden on that. So after my GF and I got a free Wii from her Mother (house warming gift) I decided to get Madden for the Wii. And boy was it bad. The fact I CAN NOT do a fantasy draft turned me off right away. It took out all of the fun.

Nintendo should make a version of Mario Paint for the Wii. I loved playing it for the SNES. My custom stamps I made had roads and train tracks and I spent a lot time smashing those gnats.

Considering the popularity of Mario Paint songs on YouTube they could probably include an updated version people would like.

That fly swatting minigame was what made me want Mario Paint in the first place. Who knows how many hours I killed on it.

I played so much Killer Instinct, Street Fighter, and Ken Griffey Jr Baseball with the XBand.

At least whenever it could actually find someone to play with.

Been playing a lot of Okami, which I picked up about a month back.

Love it, but that's pretty much a given with any Zelda style game. A shame it didn't sell that well and won't likely get a non portable sequel.

What is this xband you speak of, and why am I just now hearing of it?

That sounded a bit sarcastic but I can't really tell.

We had about 12 people in our local area, but it got old quickly. I signed up for Nationwide service though, and that was fun as hell. Played it until the end.

3DS launch titles:
Pilotwings Resort
Steel Diver
Nintendogs + Cats
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (Capcom)
The Sims 3 (Electronic Arts)
Madden NFL Football (Electronic Arts)
Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (Konami)
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts)
Ridge Racer 3D (Namco Bandai)
Super Monkey Ball 3D (Sega)
Bust-A-Move Universe (Square Enix)
Samurai Warriors: Chronicles (Tecmo Koei)
Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft)
Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft)
Rayman 3D (Ubisoft)
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Shadow Wars (Ubisoft)

And Nintendo has promised at least 30 games will be available by E3, so I'm hoping Ocarina of Time is one of them.

As for that launch list it doesn't look great, but there's at least a few that I have interest in, so I'll be able to get something at launch. I'll probably wait to read some reviews, but I'm thinking I might snag Street Fighter IV and Nintendogs + cats (uhh...for my wife of course!) on launch day.

I'm interested in the VC launch titles. I'll be all over it if, say, Mario Land 2 or 3 are up for grabs.

MLB 2K11 seems like my only baseball video game option this year. Has it been any good?
I haven't actually played the Wii version, but the review have been awful. 2k9 was awful on every system, but they took a decent step forward with the 360 version of 2k10 to the point where it was actually worth trying out. Based on everything I've heard, the Wii version somehow managed to get worse.
