They're selling 3DS games at Future Shop already.

None of the games they had there (or any of the launch titles, really) excite me all that much. I originally planned on holding off for a while before picking one up, but I think if I see one around launch day, I'll probably buy it.
Apparently yesterday was the official release day for seven titles. Sadly none of them are ones I was considering buying, because I like the idea of releasing some games a couple of days ahead of the system.

I'm getting mine from Amazon so I don't expect to see it until Wednesday/Thursday-ish next week, but I plan to pick up probably two games on Sunday. Not sure which two games yet as I'm kind of waiting to see some reviews, but SFIV and Pilotwings are the leaders in the club house right now.

Yeah, I'll probably buy Street Fighter IV and get bored with it after a few days like I do most fighting games.

I should just wait until June when Ocarina comes out, but I don't have the willpower.

Ended up buying Rayman because Zellers didn't have Street Fighter.

I'm having trouble getting the proper viewing angle down. When I do get it, its impressive, but then I end up shifting a bit and lose it.

Of course because I ordered my through Amazon I was able to find them in store today, but that's ok. I'll get a $25 credit towards a 3DS game when it ships, so I'll take it at the price of having to wait a couple of days. I did get my games though. Bought Street Fighter IV and Pilotwings this morning, and my wife insisted on getting me some games as a birthday gift so I also got Ghost Recon and Ridge Racer. I read that the 3D effect on Ridge Racer is really good, but I imagine it'll be hard to maintain the sweet spot when I keep shaking the device and yelling RIDDDGGGEEEE RAAACCCEERRRRRR.

I played a demo unit at Wal-Mart last night. They had Pilotwings on demo. At first, I was underwhelmed because all I thought was "OK, this is a prettier DS game". Then, I found the 3D slider and saw that it was turned all the way down. I moved it about halfway up and was quite impressed by the depth the screen showed. I noticed though the slightest move up, down, left or right, and it wrecked the 3D, and the screen became blurry. I'll probably be waiting on this one, but I think there's definitely potential.

I got Pilotwings on the VC recently and like it enough to consider wanting it for the 3DS. I also liked it for the N64 back when it was the only thing to play when you wanted a break from Mario.

Oh, but I suck at it, so that's kind of not fun.

I'm waiting for the 3DSi, or whatever update they'll put out in a year.

I'm confused with how this works without glasses. Is this something that can scale upward, creating visor-less home entertainment, or does it only work on a small screen?

I know some company (Sony?) in Japan was going to release a 13 inch and a 20 inch (I think those were the sizes) glasses free 3D TV. They may already exist, but they were also going to be pricey as fuck.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer beware: won't work on the DSi, March 28, 2011
By C. Jones "Software Developer" (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Nintendogs + Cats: Golden Retriever and New Friends (Video Game)
Beware! Your less than a year old DSi won't play this game. The cartridges are tabbed so they won't fit.

This may be a great version of Nintendogs but you won't know unless you shell out another $250 for a new 3DS.

I now totally want to start down voting games and bitching that they won't work on a system they weren't intended for.

Chrono Trigger - Zero stars. Won't play on my Virtual Boy!!!

Mine shipped yesterday. I used my $15 credit from Kingdom Hearts to pay for 2 day shipping so I hope to have it tomorrow or Thursday, and I've already got games. Amazon also threw in a $25 credit towards a 3DS game so I was hoping to use it for Zelda, but it looks like it's launch titles only, so I'm debating between using it towards Rayman, or maybe Nintendogs for Ms. Smues.

I wish I paid more attention to these things - I was a bit bummed about the web browser being a late May addition, but this was apparently announced ages ago.

I was explaining Face Raiders to my co-workers and suddenly realized the whole experience of fighting off my own face breaking through the space time continuum of my own living room in 3D is now ingrained in my mind and possibly my nightmares tonight. It's kind of intense if you let it get to you.

I've been bumming my roommates 3DS. I find I can't play it on the max 3D, leaving it somewhere between 1/3 & 1/2 the way on the slide. I just find it instantly starts to make my eyes blur/ water.

3D hangliding in Pilotwings is amazing. It really looks like the feet are coming out of the screen sometimes. That's some sweet technology.

I had a few of my co-workers play Face Raiders this evening and they loved it.

I took a friend's picture for Face Raiders. He didn't know why at first and then I showed him. He freaked out because the face was just too disturbing, and said he wished I hadn't taken the photo. Now no one will let me take their picture for Face Raiders, not even my girlfriend.

Incidentally, the game identified him as an Adult Female.

My complaint with FR is the constant need to take a picture. I don't want 100 bad photos of me or objects I took a photo of instead just to try and show someone how the game works. Why can't I just pick from the face gallery?

What's the consensus best game so far? Street Fighter? I'm going to pick something else up this weekend to play before Ocarina comes out and this thing doesn't gather too much dust.

I just feel like I own Street Fighter IV already. Is this not the thinking I'm supposed to have regarding a portable 3D conversion?

I'm leaning towards getting something else because I always get bored of fighting games quickly. I haven't touched Marvel vs. Capcom 3 in weeks.

Pilotwings and Street Fighter are standouts. I got Samurai Warriors because I like the franchise. Ridge Racer is supposed to be good as well.

I've only played each for about half an hour but I enjoyed both Street Fighter and Ridge Racer. The 3d on the character select screen of SF is impressive and really shows that the glasses free thing works, at least as far as depth is concerned.

On a walk today, I got a StreetPass hit! A real one! I don't know who you are, P.K. Slime, but bless you.

I notice everyone playing with their iPhones, but who is gonna carry a 3DS around? How many owners actually know that their 3DS has StreetPass? Most people are just gonna turn the damn thing off.

I had a great time using Pictochat at a midnight premiere for a movie in 2007. Apparently it was determined I may not be a real doctor. Perhaps movie theatres and such locations are where we can meet Street Miis.

I'm not expecting to have a StreetPass hit anytime soon, but next time I go to BestBuy I'll take mine with me and see if their demo unit is set up for that!

I'm also thinking airports might be a StreetPass hotspot.
