Cici's is a nationwide chain, not a regional one. And they're terrible.

In 8th grade, we had a history teacher who organized all these field trips for students who maintained a B average. No matter where in the world we were, he would by god find a CiCi's. I'll never forget the bus driver pointing out all the fast food places up ahead and the teacher getting visibly agitated as he said, "No, there's a CiCi's five blocks over."

Fuckin' frozen Totino's Party Pizzas are better than Cici's.

Totino's was a staple of my diet when I was poor. Sometimes when I pass the frozen pizza section at the store and see Totino's on sale for like $1.25 I think of buying one for old time's sake.

My in-laws insist on going to Cici's every time they are in town since the town they live doesn't have one.

I got a $15 Papa John's gift card for Christmas. I haven't had it in years other than people ordering pepperoni and cheese at parties, school functions, etc. I've been going to Domino's (a two minute walk from my house) and Little Caesar (cheap as fuck) for mediocre chain pizza for a while now. What's good there for specialty pizzas? Anything or should I stick with the basics?

That six cheese pizza they have is great. I get it well done and could eat it forever.

When the snow melts, I'm going to the grocery store and buy me a Newman's Own Cheese Pizza.

I've talked about that pizza since October of last year, and I feel like today is the day that I will eat a Newman's Own Pizza.

Bumping this because I made my own pizza yesterday. It was pretty good, used some fancy italian salami, the name of which escapes me, sun dried tomatoes and blue cheese. Standard mozzarella covering. Thing is, it was store bought pre packaged bread and tomato sauce. Next time I'm going to try making my own dough and sauce. Pointers and creative tips more than welcome.

What I loved most was how much better it tasted than a chain pie, and how much cheaper it is, especially when I used comparatively gourmet ingredients. Unless I'm in Brooklyn or Italy or in some kind of group setting where a bunch of people have already made the decision for me, I honestly don't see myself ordering pizza again.

Oh man, had the best pizza ever this weekend at a little Italian grocery that has a little a brick oven in the back. So simple (they only serve cheese pizza) and so good. Only downside is they only serve it for lunch and they only have it till it sells out. So they might only be serving it up for like an hour.

Is that olive oil, cheese grease, or italian pizza seasoning that melted into liquid? Looks good either way.

Any of you have a a pizza shop with a few locations where there seems to be a big difference in quality between locations?

Out here we have this joint Rico's Pizza. The original one which is right by my house is fantastic, probably my favorite mini-chain of all time. Then there happens to be one about 20 miles in the next 'burb over where I used to work, and one day we got it in the office from that locations and while it wasn't bad, it was completely generic. I was almost embarrassed to have recommend it to the office after I had talked it up.

Italian/pizza sausage isn't always easy to get here but I really do like it - putting on normal sausage meat never seems to have the same effect. Tried this recipe the other day : http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2010/12/fennel-spiked-pizza-sausage-a-la-pizza-a-casa.html and it is really quite awesomeo.

Also went to a pop up (temporary) pizza restauraunt last week were I had a Taleggio, Fontina, herbed thinly sliced potato and white onions on a sourdough base. It was fantastic - one of those times where a bunch of ingrediants you wouldn't necessarily think would work became something much more than the sum of their parts.

The one closest to home is awesome, will always get a Mushroom and either a Hawaiian or a Seafood and they are done perfectly. Whenever I've gone to one in the city the attention to detail and basic quality suffers a lot. I'd be devastated if the local one ever left.

A few years back, me and my buddies used to get pizzas from this place called G's - there was a few of the around, but we'd go to a particular one most of the time, because even though their pizzas weren't as good as the other places, they had a non-stop half-off sale. It's like their knew their quality wasn't up to par, so they made it way cheaper. Which was awesome for us, because when you're stoned, you don't give a fuck how good the pizza is, you just want a lot of it.

I made a pizza at home yesterday with some people too. It was awesome...we cooked a package of bacon and used that as the main topic. Delicious with red peppers.

Dominos is advertising a new line of pizzas that they won't let you add or remove toppings from because they're perfect as they are. No seriously that's how they're marketing them.

And if you don't like it, you can check the "DIDNT LIKE IT" square on your pizza box before you throw it away.

Remember that conversation about/with people at Subway that can't pick out toppings out of fear or something? This is the pizza for them
