Neither of you are wrong.

The things he's talking about are why I considered LowKi the best wrestler in the US back in 2002, and why early ROH was so great before it devolved into spotty sprints. It was a connection to that more grounded, realistic style that Brad Armstrong displayed and the modern lucha-influenced athleticism.

Great stuff here. Raven vs. Stevie after Sandman gets taken out, Dreamer & Beulah vs. Shane Douglas & Francine, Sabu & RVD vs. Eliminators in a Tables & Ladders Match

I’m not sure if this is sarcasm but I think veterans (even MARINES) are pretty likely to experience substance abuse issues.
Those 2 and Pvt Terry Daniels are the only 3 Wrasslin' marines I know of off the top of my head. I really wasn't going too deep with this take regardless.

Stolen Valor Slaughter's Vietnam experience be damned!!!

Well yeah. He doesn’t to numb the pain of the horrors he went through in the military cause he was never actually in the military.

I feel like Sarge does have very, very little sleaze on him by ‘80s/‘90s wrestler standards. He was a peripheral part of Marty Jannetty’s “drugging and assaulting rowdy college kids on an airplane” story but that’s about it. Well that and the stolen valor!

Helped that he was largely MIA (pun intended) from mid 86 until 89 as the Hasbro money rolled in.

Hard to get in trouble on the road when you are sitting in your living room.

Which late era ECW midcarder would Triple H have had a random 15 minute match with?

Realistically though, you'd have to do Triple H Vs Tommy Dreamer IO. Invading bully Vs inspirational leader of the ECW locker room...plus it gives Triple H the best chance to do his Ric Flair cosplay.

HHH/Nova would've ruled if HHH was in any way interested in it. But there's no way he puts in effort.

It was weird that show being advertised with zero card, and way to promote it. I don’t think Paul really thought it was going to happen, but had to pretend like he was still trying.

ECW PPVs seemed to usually just have a match or two announced, and everything else was booked like it was happening on the fly. It made for some fun shows.

I also liked ECW having a PPV every other month as opposed to once a month. They started moving away from there at the very end but having a PPV in between November to Remember and Guilty As Charged in 2000 (Massacre on 34th Street. Great name, not gonna lie).

Anarchy Rulz 1999 holds a special place in my heart.

If Living Dangerously '01 had happened, based on what I remember of the stories at the end, likely matches from booking patterns, and the rumor of Vince sending HHH down...

ECW World Heavyweight championship
Rhino (c) vs. Rob Van Dam
*Sandman likely interferes and forces a Three Way Dance

ECW World Tag Team championship
Danny Doring & Roadkill (c) vs. The New Impact Players (Justin Credible & Steve Corino, w/ Francine and Jack Victory) vs. Simon Diamond & Johnny Swinger

Tommy Dreamer vs. Triple H

Unholy Alliance (Mikey Whipwreck & Yoshihiro Tajiri, w/ the Sinister Minister) vs. Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido & Tony Mamaluks, w/ Sal Graziano)

Kd Kash vs. Super Crazy

Balls Mahoney vs. Angel (w/ DeVito)
*Breaks down into chaos and then New Jack makes the save

Things that wouldn't have surprised me? If Vince also sends the Dudley Boyz there to have a match, Jerry Lynn is booked but refuses because it isn't the main event and that leads to him vs. Nova (since Nova was becoming the "do the run-in and save the day" face toward the end that Heyman loved to use), maybe an appearance from Masato Tanaka,

In 2006 he ends up on Velocity as a bumbling martial artist or something, but puts on great stuff with randos like Holly.

Original ECW era, if he jumped, we get some great hardcore division stuff at least. Tanaka/Blackman really does it for me.

Arezzi already aired the unedited version during an off week a year or two back but I am gonna relisten to hear his 2023 thoughts.

It’s his radio show from the week (day?) after Shane Douglas threw down the NWA World Title with interviews from Shane, Paul Heyman, Tod Gordon and Dennis Coralluzzo. Just an incredible document of a historical night.

Sleazy Ronnie Milsap is the most honest look.
