So I started Tomb Raider Legend last night and I'm already stuck on the first major puzzle of the game (the room with the wire boxes and the stone seesaw).

That's not good.

Isnt that the one where you have to push the stone onto the seesaw and launch it onto a platform?

Yeah, I figured that out later. I originally thought you used that to stack them on top of each other.

Speaking of this game, I know it is from 2006 and was probably not made to fully utilize the 360, but man do some of these environments look bland as hell. I try not to be one of those graphics whores, but I couldn't completely ignore it.

I started playing Tomb Raider Anniversary, I really like the updated controls with the aspect of the game being the original Tomb Raider. Shame that the game suffers from non registered ledge grabs etc at times.

Continuing the Tomb Raider motif, I finished Legend today. It's decent and may be worth picking up if you are a fan of the series and can find it really cheap (its nearly 4 years old so that shouldn't be a problem) as there is some creativity in the level design and some decent puzzles.

They had a copy of NHL 94 for the Genesis at Goodwill and I was going to buy it (even though my Genesis is at my brother's friend's house a good 4-5 hours away from here) but when I opened the case, someone had stolen the game.

So, anyone have any thoughts on Dragon Age: Origins? Bioware can do RPG as we all know, although I'm not too sure what EA is doing in this arrangement. I'm always down for a good hack and slash game, Bioware's throwing in some more pixel sex, and Tim Muthafuckin' Curry is voicing the big bad! Sounds like a winner to me.

He's getting a tonne of video game work, with that, Brutal Legend and Command and Conquer.

With the little Asian kid? Insanely, cute, yes. It cracks us up everytime she tries to pronounce "responsive."

Not only is it cute, but they've used "The Final Countdown" and the newer commercial uses the A-Team theme. They know what music to use to push a product on this generation.

So I downloaded that new Microsoft Essentials antivirus program, and immediately I cannot open saved excel files because they're corrupted. I've been googling trying to find a way to fix this, but nothing is working. I made a spreadsheet of my entire wrestling collection and now I can't get to it. I was able to copy the spreadsheet to my jump drive and successfully open it on another computer. But I want to be able to access it on this computer. Is there any way to fix this that I haven't found on google or is it a lost cause?

Yeah... that's the other LADcast.

He talks about this Gran and earwax. He only did 4 shows.

There was also another LADcast with a group of northeners talking crap but only lasted one episode.

Hey guys. As a few of you know I'm now without PC. I was looking online at half decent deals and I see refurbished PC's going at a fairly decent rate for some pretty great specs.

Having no knowledge of Refurbished PC's myself, I throw myself at your mercy.

What are the ups and (more importantly) downs of getting a refurbished PC?

Depends on your definition of "fairly decent rate" and how long you expect it to last. Is it going to be your intended PC of use for years to come, or is it just a stopgap PC until enough savings accumulate to buy a non-refurb?

Well, i'd like it to last of course. I want about 750gig to 1tb of harddrive space and about 4gb of ram with a half great graphics card. I can get something along those lines for about £500 as a refurb (not that i've looked hard, with not having a PC and everything).

My friend suggests that whatever caused the PC to go wrong on the refurb will inevitably happen again. And that sounded like a logical thing to say.

Depends on what went wrong. Whatever broke was obviously repairable, at least, but beyond that it's really a crapshoot as to whether they fixed what was wrong or if it just hasn't repeated itself yet since the reconstruction.

So what do you think brother? Take a great refurb with a small (£6 a month) insurance (With a 'if we can't fix it, we'll replace it attitude) or just fork out more the following month?

6 pounds is like...$12 american, so I'd say go for it with the insurance, but make sure you back the vital stuff up every now & again just to be on the safe side.
