I just saw a bunch of unreleased stuff related to Rock Band 3.

This game is going to rock ten bells and a gong.

I was pretty pissed they only included one track from Insomniac, which I have fond memories of as a young teenager. Fuck their recent stuff.

Their recent stuff = what the potential purchasers of Rock Band are listening to from a marketing POV.

Yea, I understand that. I'm just saying.

I really dunno where guitar hero/Rockband can go from here, there is NOTHING more to bring to the table besides a proper storymode, and even then its just a track update really.

When we get Guitar Hero: Nickelback, that will be when the time is officially up on these games.

It's going head to head releases with Rock Band: Creed.

I dunno... the video game folder has spawned a lot of lawsuits this month already...

Heh. I'm surprised I don't hear more bitching in the RAW threads every week about having to hear Nickelback for 2 hours.

We have Raw threads?

You mean WWF is still in business?

Deadly Premonition has become quite the popular game; Giant Bomb just finished up dueling Endurance Runs of it and now Spoony has come to Greenvale.

I just noticed that the metacritic scores for the game have improved a lot since the initial ones. IGN comes out of this looking like the morons they are.

awesome interview about the game: http://www.gamepro.com/article/features/215173/the-story-of-deadly-premonition/

"When I saw that two out of ten review, I drank coffee with milk," recalls Swery, who was busy monitoring the game's critical reception from overseas. "And when I saw the ten out of ten review, I had sake."

"I think people who enjoyed the game, whether ironically or genuinely, have made it a point to talk about it, and that has caught other people's interest," says Chance, aspiring cartoonist and founder of #FKintheCoffee, a Deadly Premonition-themed DeviantArt fan group. "There was just so much genuine enjoyment that went into the game that I felt like I owed it something. [My] little DeviantArt fan group is my way of saying, 'Thank you, Deadly Premonition, for existing!'"

I just bought an N64 at Goodwill for $15. Came with StarFox 64 and F1 World Grand Prix, but it doesn't work. It powers on and I know its not the AV cables because they work fine with my SNES, so I'm going to have to take it apart to see what's wrong. It's pretty filthy on the outside, so hopefully it just needs a good cleaning. Is there anything else that's usually a problem that I should look at?

The cartridge connector can be a problem. Also make sure the RAM pack is snuggly inserted at the front.

Well there ya go. Any old school gaming stores in your area? You should be able to get one for less than $2 or about $3 for the expanded RAM pack.

The Toys 'R Us flyer in the paper had a special 50% off certain 360 games all this week. I managed to get Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for only $29.99.

You know, I'm half tempted to start a thread of what games you would recommend to others, but I have no idea how that would work. I'd assume we'd have the main post which says who gives a recommendation to what games, but other than that, I'm kinda blanking.

Besides, I don't know how realistic it would be for everyone to actually well, do something with it.

It would start with an early flurry of games we finished god-knows-when and turn into another "what game did you just finish" thread.

I'd be up for weekly/monthly "Discuss Game Series/Genre X" thread, though.

I'd recommend a monthly game club for those who have Gamefly or rent games, but I know (still) how tough it is to get new releases from them. And I don't know exactly how many of us have Gamefly.
