Meant to post this last night:

Darksiders: Pretty much Zelda. After I figured that out, all the bosses were simple. Get new weapon, use new weapon to beat boss. Check. Was getting a little tedious at the end until I got to the final battle... Having to duel the Destroyer on your horse was fun and then a nice sword battle to end the game. So that was awesome. Then we get to the ending...

"How do you plan to do all this alone." "No, not alone." Cut to the other three Horsemen zooming in from the sky. End game.

I marked the fuck out, instantly. Might have been one of the best endings to any video game I ever played.

I got that N64 I mentioned before working (actually, I have 2 now), so what are some games worth getting?

I have Mario 64, Ocarina, Goldeneye, DK64, Revenge, Starfox, Spider-Man, and some Formula 1 game so far and Resident Evil 2 coming in the mail. I want Majora's Mask if I can find it cheap. I don't really care for Mario Kart 64, so I'm not going to pick it up unless I find it cheap at Goodwill or something. The only other games I can think of are Perfect Dark and maybe WM2000 and/or No Mercy, but maybe there are some more I'm unaware of.

Paper Mario comes to mind. I also highly recommend Ogre Battle 64 if you like RPGs, though copies are pretty darn expensive.

I like Blast Corps. It's kind of short though.

^this. Very fun game

Star Fox 64 is a game that no matter how long I go in between playing it I can pick it up and crush it every time.

Sadly Goldeneye has aged worse than any other game from that time. It's just so ugly to look at now.

For games that haven't been mentioned:

If you want to play with 3 or 4 people I strongly suggest Smash Brothers and the Mario Party games.
Killer Instinct Gold is a great fighter.
Mario Golf and Tennis are both a lot of fun.
Waverace and 1080 are alright titles as well

And don't let the name fool you. Avoid the Castlevania titles.

Got Blur for $10 at Best Buy. Was excited, and got it for PS3 for the steering wheel support (Have a wheel for PS3). I get home and discover the game does not support steering wheels. I could have just as easily gotten it for 360.

Castlevania reminded me of one title: Goemon: The Legend of Mystical Ninja (or something titled similarly). I loved that game.

If I knew anything about hockey back then I could have appreciated it better. I did rent it. I liked NBA Hangtime and NFL Blitz.

I might pick this up when it's cheap. The demo was pretty cool, and it was the first time I can remember a demo being a big portion of a game. It took me several hours to finish.

I don't know if it should get its own thread, but Transformers: War for Cybertron came out today, and it's actually pretty decent. Got a 9 from IGN, among others. I'm not really a Transformers guy, or a shooter guy for the most part, but I kinda like it so far. I imagine fans should really dig it. I picked up a copy for my bud, who's the collect the action figures type, and he seems to be loving it.

Manhunt with Teddy Bears is out. I was going to give it a play then I remembered how bad a game manhunt was and changed my mind.

I have been playing Shadow Complex the last few days and I gotta say, its pretty freakin awesome.

So I see Steam is having another one of their insane sales up until July 4th. The 2K Pack, which includes 11 games like both BioShocks, Borderlands and all it's expansions and Civ IV and all it's expansions is only $90 (down from $359). You basically get every 2K game that's on Steam.

Valve complete pack's on sale for $67 as well. Was a heck of a deal when it was $75 over the holidays, even crazier now.

Someone gave a bunch of their systems to Goodwill, so I picked up an N64, SNES, PS1, and Dreamcast for around $30 this afternoon.

I already have each of those systems, so I'll probably re-sell a couple of them on eBay.

The only problem is the Dreamcast. I think it might be a problem with the GD-ROM drive, since it won't read any discs (games or music CDs), but the boot-up screen is different (doesn't play the little jingle and draw the swirl, the swirl just shows up on the screen for a second before it goes into the menu). I can't seem to find anything about this specific problem on-line, does anyone know anything about it?

My fear after playing the demo that Crackdown 2 was going to be disappointing has apparently come to fruition; pretty much every review I've read says there's barely any changes from the first game. So I'll just go to Gamestop and get the first one again for $15.

As a Best Buy Gamer Rewards memberthingy, I got their new magazine in the mail. Their reviews are on a scale of 1 to 5.

No single game got less than 3. That includes Naughty Bear.

Get the fuck out of here.
