Help people please -

I'm looking for a good free DVD burner for Windows 7. Any one know any good ones?

And while I'm asking, is there anyway I can download a patch so I can watch region 1 dvds on my laptop?

I've used ImgBurn for disc-burning software, and it's alright. Not super straightforward like the Nero or Roxio software I've got kicking around on a disc somewhere, but it'll do the job.

And maybe see if VLC Player will play region-locked DVDs.

Started The Force Unleashed 2 yesterday. Also FINISHED Force Unleashed 2 yeasterday. Yeah, it's that short. Fun though, since Starkiller can kick ass from the beginning, making it feel like you're actually a Jedi. A couple of pretty epic boss fights, although the finally is kinda annoying and one spot that irritated me because it came out of nowhere and killed me a couple of times.

Plus, Juno Eclipse is still up there on the "Hot Video Game Characters" list, not that I have one or anything. Anyway, big sequel hook at the ending

That's pretty neat. Honestly, I didn't know it wasn't in the game already. Nice to have a piece of home included in a major videogame release.

The PS3 version of Portal 2 will have cross-platform play with PC & Mac, cloud saves, and if you link your PSN account with your Steam account, you'll get a PC/Mac version of the game for free.

That there's how you fuck with your competing console's game sales.

Well, my payment has been processed for the Collector's Edition of Dead Space 2, so hopefully it'll be in the mail on Monday. I'm actually pretty excited about it. They've upped the gore quotient based on the demo, and actually given Isaac some character and some more people to play off of directly, assuming he's not just insane after DS1. Played the crap out of the demo and they haven't really changed the controls, but I wish they'd add in a quick 180 button. Since they've added in more open areas to fight in they seem to have fallen in to the "Bad guy is right behind you and you never see him until he hits you" trap. Still though, it's gotten excellent previews so it, combined with the endgames of Fallout New Vegas and Fable 3, should keep me plenty busy until DA:O2 in early March.

If that doesn't work just "aquire" a program called 'DVD region free'. Even if you get a version a couple years old it should run fine on Win 7. I think i've been using the same one for about 7 year & it's never done me wrong.

Beat Vanquish. Super short, but good replay value. Love this game. Wish more people would buy it because at this rate a sequel is unlikely.

Finally got around to playing Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Not too far in it, but it's pretty good. I can understand why people are pissed about it because it really has little to do with the series, but it's just a solid game. I'll be moving back to Puerto Rico tomorrow and I won't be bringing my PS3 with me, and it's bumming me out, cause I'd really like to finish this game. Ughhhhhhhh.

At least I'll have my PSP. Probably going to use my Glyde credit to pick up Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep.

I can't help but want to play a new Pokemon game when it comes out. I'm too old for this.

I'll never understand people modding their systems to get achievements.. I mean do you get physical or monetary rewards for these things or are these people just the epitome of gaming losers?

Just watched Giant Bomb's quick look on You Don't Know Jack. 73 episodes on disc with promises of more via DLC? I'll take that. And Cookie hasn't lost a step it sounds like.

IIRC it was reviewed in Official Xbox Magazine this issue and they said it was really good.

If I wasn't unemployed right now I'd be ALL OVER that shit.

I think I'm gonna go look for my copy of The Ride and install that.

I had no idea they were even making a BC: Rearmed 2, but I saw it available this week. I quite enjoyed the first one, so I'll probably get this.

Actually, $29.99 is the standard price for the console versions. I think it's on Steam for $20.

Mine is coming tomorrow along with Rock Band 3 since that was on sale too.

Goddamn, both these games are fucking great. They made a few changes to the YDKJ formula and none are bad or take anything away from the game. Plus, the first DLC is already out and has 10 more episodes for $5. That's fucking insane. I hope this game sells like mad because these guys deserve it. We should get a TSM Trivia Night organized some time.
