If I could get them on the cheap, I think I'd like to try and own all of the Nintendo Power issues from the NES to N64 era. This thought just hit me today.
I'm pretty sure I've got issues 26 to 99 in a box in my closet, and am unlikely to ever look at them again.

It's the kinda thing where once I got them I could see going "Now why did you go and do that? You're a grown man."

I'm watching some old E3 press conferences on Youtube. RIIIIIIIIIDGE RACERR will never get old.

We should fire up the E3 2011 thread pretty soon. It's like three weeks away, right?

So they brought back Bald Bull... they... um brought back Bald Bull... that's a good thing, that's not a bad thing they brought back Bald Bull.

Oh man... that is terrible. I watched his little intro song and skipped to just before the five minute mark like Brody suggested, and still only lasted about a minute and a half.

Awful, awful stuff.

You know, to present a show or a game review show, you need to have a certain level of charimsa and be able to hold your appearance on camera. This guy has neither of those qualities. He wasn't even looking into the lens! He was reading his script off camera!

Not only that.. but he seems overly nervous. I mean I could understand being a novice presenter and feeling nervous in front of a room full of crew and cameras for a legit tv show.. but this guy is in his kitchen, alone, with a digital camera..

The Bald Bull thing was just nonsensical in a hilarious way.

"With four knockouts...well with four wins...without any loses"

I don't even...wow. I watched the opening and about two minutes starting at the five minute mark and...wow.

I intend to watch the whole thing at some point, but I'm just not sure I can make it. Even his theme music is painful to listen to.

I watched the whole thing. He can't be serious right? Like this is some kind of elaborate joke or something? Because otherwise...wow. There is just so much that is wrong with that video I don't even know where to start. Hey maybe I can be like Blue Luigi and just say how it sucks without giving reasons! Yeah this guy sucks, I didn't like this guy because...he sucks! I'm not sure what my favorite part was as there is just SO much awfulness packed into that 13 minutes, but it's probably the theme song. That, or the fact for not really liking the game a screenshot at the end showed that he had played over THREE HUNDRED fights, and lost a lot more than he won. How is that even possible?

So what did you Canadians that actually played this game think about Bear Hugger? Were you offended by that guy? Because seriously Bear Hugger gives Canada a bad name.

I love how in Punch Out Wii when you smack Bear Hugger around shit like fish and beavers and maple leaves fly out of him.

A stealth video game murder sim based on Child's Play was announced. Part of me thinks it will never be finished.

Six words you never thought you would hear:
Duke Nukem Forever Has Gone Gold

The rapture actually happening last week would have been less surprising than DNF actually coming out. Am I crazy for actually considering buying it? Amazon has the PC version for $49.99 plus a $10 promotional credit if you pre-order.

Does anybody run Ubuntu? I'm about to download it and use it, on the recommendation of my computer literate friends.

I just hope I can still go to the Express website....free shipping this week!

I try it out every so often. I had it installed on my newest hard drive for a few days. I always end up with little problems here and there, and not being familiar with Linux, I don't really know what to do about it. It's possible they'd be solved by using the 32-bit versions, but for whatever reason, I default to 64.

The Flash plugins I've used suck, so watching videos ends up being a bit of a chore. This is also the case on my mom's old off-lease POS system, which is running 32-bit Kubuntu.

If you don't want to jump in head-first, having to re-partition drives and whatnot, you can essentially install Ubuntu as a Windows application and try it that way. I think they used to call it Wubi, but now it's just a Windows installer.

I only just now heard about the new tales game for PS3 coming out later this year. I wish I knew how much chance there was of it getting an English version.

Ubuntu is good. I have it on a dual boot on my eee pc with wondows xp (just so I can run some stuff with the OS it was built for). I'd say do a google search to make sure your pc runs well with it, as I had issues/ had to get some extra drivers.

I just noticed that rapidshare is really trying to get people to switch to their premium service. It's now a 5min wait for the initial download of a 75mb file?
FAKE EDIT: Hmmm, I did end up getting uncapped speeds though, at about 1mb/sec so I guess it evened out.

Capcom has since changed it's mind and will release a patch to fix this, but apparently the original plan for SSFIV Arcade Edition for PC was to DRM the thing to the point where if you were offline you could only use 15 of the 39 characters. Fuck these fucking companies. Piracy is bad. I GET IT. I'm a legal beagle and I spend money and legally purchase games that I could easily pirate. I don't support piracy. But game companies treating the legal buyers like we are fucking pirates is almost enough to get me to just pirate this shit instead. Internet connection went out for awhile? YOU MUST BE A THIEF FUCK YOU.

If a player's Internet connection should fail in the middle of a game or session, the game will continue until a "logical break point" such as exiting to a menu, and the player will then be asked to sign in again. If that's not possible, the game will exit and restart in the limited offline mode.
Un-fucking-believable.

And even when they announce they'll remove that bullshit they have to be assholes about it.
Last week, when I put up a blog about all of the great new features and thoughtful PC-specific design considerations that were added to Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition PC, many folks ignored the goodness therein and zeroed in on the implementation of the offline mode and its limitations.

How dare we ignore the goodness.

About a week into it, and I'm loving ubuntu. I deleted windows so now my laptop is fully ubuntu and it runs perfectly. The only pain so far is syncing everything that I put into my dropbox.

Yeah, that whole concept is total bullshit. They did the same thing with the Final Fight release on PSN. You HAVE to be signed into the PSN to play the game. No internet? No game. Period.

This is exactly how I felt in the summer of 2003 when movie theatres would run spots about the evils of internet movie piracy... to the paying customers already sitting in the theatre.

Were those the ones that would have crew people talking about how piracy hurts them and they aren't millionaire movie stars they're normal people just like us? Yeah those were awful. Since they claimed to be just like us, the movie going public, maybe they should have lectured themselves about piracy?

Also awful are the anti-piracy ads on DVDs and Blu-ray that are unskippable, and yet would be skippable if you were watching on a pirated disc!
