I'm digging FF4 so far. It does seem Chrome inspired, but I've been using FireFox for years and Chrome never really hooked me, I just feel more comfortable with FF. I re-enabled the bar at the bottom because I like having stuff down there like ForecastFox, FoxyTunes and my video downloader.

This might be a dumb question (& show techology retarded i am) but im thinking of getting a hdtv & use it to double as a second monitor with a hdmi cable. Will the hdmi have the ability/ also transmit carry sound or will i need external speakers?

I know with my monitor, the HDMI cable carries sound to it. Yours should work as well.

You might need to do some tinkering with your computer so that the HDMI out signal carries sound, though. If you've got a standalone video card, there might be a small cable to run from the sound card/motherboard to the video card.

Or I could be way off; I've never done HDMI on a computer.

I think it just depends on the video card. I've heard people complain that there's won't do sound through HDMI, but both cards that I've run HDMI out to a TV with have done it without any problems.

I bit the bullet and got myself a 3D tv. The SAMSUNG LE40C750 to be exact. Its auto conversion of 2d to 3d actually works really quite well. Migranes running wild!

EA announced they're taking the year off from NBA games again. That will be two years in a row where the NHL is the only US sports league with competing games on all consoles. In this case it's just because EA can't figure out how to make a game, though.

2k took a year off because their game sucked.

EA took a year off (two years, technically) because their game sucked.

I didn't realize 2K had taken a year off from the hockey. It's not even that their game sucked really...it's that their competition took an evolutionary step forward a few years ago and only has to refine it every year to walk out the winner. 2K was still making last gen worthy hockey and EA was making awesome fucking games.

I was undecided about buying Portal 2, because as much as I love the first game, it's hard to imagine paying $60 for more of that. But, it's $55 on Amazon right now, and you get a $20 promotional credit towards future Amazon purchases. I spend that much on there pretty much every 8 days, so I'm sold.

My laptop has no sound on it, all of a sudden. Last night it worked fine, now windows doesn't even register a sound device at all. Is it just needing to find a driver to re-install or is it something more than that?

Mine does that all the time. Just restart it.

Thats just it, I restarted it and it still popped up with that issue. I'll try shutting down and starting back up to see if that clears it up.

I read the Game Informer story on Saints Row The Third today. I love how Volition just don't give a fuck how crazy their games are as long as they are fun to play. A luchador gang leader whose former tag team partner you join forces with? Every weapon having some sort of nutshot capability (even bazookas)? I'm on board with that. Can't wait to get next month's issue for the Mass Effect 3 story.
