Toys R Us has Rayman Origins for just $20. Heard a ton of good things about it, so can't beat it at that price.

EDIT: Best $20 I've spent on a game in a long time. I only played for 45 minutes and I probably would put in my top 10 (top 5 even) for last year. The platforming stages were fun enough, but then the game decides to throw in a R-Type like side scrolling shooter stage. Awesome.

That Aliens game is one I'd love to have on PSN. That and the old Simpsons and TMNT arcade games.

Simpsons arcade game achievements just leaked. I didn't see the trophies listed on the PS3 sister site but I have to imagine it will soon. So it is actually finally coming out. Sometime.

From the achievements list it looks like X-men where there will be a US and Japanese version that are both playable from the menu screen. Don't know if there's any significance to that.

Has anyone else had a problem with watching videos and/or listening to files where all or part of the audio can't be heard? Sometimes, I'll be able to hear background music or whatever, but no dialogue. Occasionally I'll play a song file and notice something like a backing vocal track muted. This can happen even if I have the file saved on my pc and it's worked fine in the past. Luckily this doesn't seem to be a permanent condition, but it's still annoying.

I don't know who cares, but Visual Studio just got an optional plug-in that adds achievements. Some gems:

Use of the goto keyword. Um, I heard it was a best practice that you weren't supposed to do that anymore.

Lonely (5 points)
Code on a Friday or Saturday night. Coding? Tonight? Ouch.

Potty Mouth (5 points)
Use 5 different curse words in a file. Wash that mouth out with soap!

Time For An Upgrade (10 points)
A solution takes 10 minutes to compile. Dag, that's one enormous solution!

I've never cared much about achievements on games, but if Office were to get achievements I would be a total achievement whore and pwn the rest of my office!

They did a plugin for MS Office achievements 2 or 3 years ago.

Edit: Not only that, but it uses the built in MS Office infrastructure to let everyone else in your office who installed the achievements plugin know that you got an achievement, so shit pops up on THEIR screens when YOU get achievements.

I have a friend who was coming under some financial hardship, and has been selling his games and systems to Gamestop for cash. When I found out about this, I asked him if he would let me know before he decides to do a cash trade again and I would see if he had anything I wanted. I stopped by his house yesterday evening and he had a small stack of things that he was going to take, and received an over-the-phone quote for $27, which I felt was a major ripoff. Here is what he had:

Nintendo Wii - complete but tobacco smoke-stained. The stains cleaned off nicely with some Windex.
Wii Sports
Wavebird Gamecube Controller
Nintendo brand Gamecube Memory Card
Soul Calibur II for PS2
Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence for PS2
Metal Gear Solid 4

Thrown in as a "bonus"
Pokemon Fire Red for the GBA with box and instructions
Mortal Kombat 3 for PSX (tall case version)
WWE World's Greatest Tag Teams DVD Set

He wanted $50 for everything, but I ended up giving him $60. I told him if when he got back on his feet, if he wanted the items back, I would sell them back to him for what I paid. I already have a Wii, which I don't play often, but I wanted to help him out. Plus, it will be nice to finally have a chance to play MGS4.

The Wavebird and the Pokemon fire red alone go for about $30 a piece easy in stores. Maybe just softmod his wii. That way you can leave yours in one piece and play shit off his?

I guess it'd be fun for online play/ achievements, but I still remember being disappointed with it when I played it on an emulator a few years ago. It was the arcade game I was dying to play, but it became so monotonous by world 3.

Zero. That game was pulled from the Xbox due to licensing issues, IIRC.

This. I would think that WWE has to have the rights to all of those characters, still, no? Also given their recent foray into Legends based games, WrestleFest would be a perfect fit for a $10 release via the gaming networks.

There was a small story a few weeks back about WWE filing a trademark for WrestleFest. Maybe Joe Gagne got people talking.

There was a follow-up story that WWE only filed the trademark to stop an outside party from using the name, but I just read that 2 minutes ago.
