Not sure. I only tried the brother but I couldn't remember where he was exactly. Never found him.

So...I guess
Dutch jumping off the cliff
isn't the ending after all? The mission sure seems to set itself up like one.

I just can't really get into the story because it seems like Marston is just an errand boy for all these dishonorable characters (par for the course for a Rockstar game). It doesn't feel like he's the focal point of the narrative until late in the game (where I am now).

Marston is a tool. I mean who couldn't see that the Mexican government officials were going to screw him. Guy's dumber than dog shit.

Yeah, but how is that supposed to make me care about his hunt for his old gang or getting his wife and son back? The whole Mexico thing was kind of pointless because you have no control over which side wins and you really don't get anything out of it. My "honor" bar is nearly full because I'm just playing through the story missions like normal and really have no desire to just go shooting up a town. I guess what I'm saying is that the story is way too linear to have something like a morality system.

And put me in the "Fuck cougars" group; I was slicing up a grizzly and one of those fuckers took me out in two hits.

Just finished it. If they put the last two or so hours at the beginning of the game, it would have had a much better story.

He never really was much besides an errand boy, just an outlaw. He saw the opportunity to catch the guys he needed to in Mexico and was pretty naive about them wanting to help him. That thing in Chuparosa with De Santa in the church? I saw that coming about 5 missions before it happened.

I looked at it as John had a pretty narrow way of looking at things, if you said you could help him he helped you. If you couldn't help him, he killed you.

Liked the game world a lot, but I agree that the main character was a real wuss when it came down to it. The guy is very obviously a take on William Munney from Unforgiven, but watered down. He needed to talk less and be more threatening; stare someone down when they try to give you more bullshit work. Beat the shit out of someone who keeps leading you on (Anyone in Mexico, really). I also agree that things fall apart in Mexico; you should have taken one side and stuck with it. That would have made things more bearable.

I just captured Javier. I kinda just want to end this game already. I'm enjoying the game play just fine, but the story is wearing on me. I kinda realized early on that no one in the game is going to help the main character get what he wants. I hope I'm at least close.

Anyone having trouble getting the Army Uniform? I've done all the prerequisites other than purchasing the scrap from the tailor, yet when I go to do so it says not available.

Have you completed "The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed" yet? My cousin had the same problem, he couldn't buy the scrap until he beat that mission.

They're right near the town where you're doing the set of missions up north. Head out of town and there's a lake, you'll hear them.

Been playing this game for the past month and it's been awesome. Finished it last night. It started to drag a little bit story-wise, but I still consider it one of the best games in the past 10 years. It's highly addictive. Haven't played any multiplayer yet, but I'll probably check it out.

It seems like you guys run into cougars a lot. I've only come across a few. The first time I ran into one was in the mountains much later in the game, when you're looking for Dutch's hideout. It killed me almost instantly.

My favorite part of the game was probably the relationship between John and Bonnie. I felt there should have been more of that in the game. I really liked her character.

So yesterday on Attack of the Show on G4, they announced 4 mission-based expansion packs will be released sometime this year, for $10 each but the best new of all..........

One of them will be ZOMBIE-RELATED!

FUCK YES!

The Undead Nightmare pack is the best one for me. Not so much because of zombies, but because it's the only pack out of the 4 that has new single player quests. That's a draw itself for me. The zombie thing is definitely a plus though.

I ran into the exact same cougar as my first. I went to skin the bighorn it had killed and as I bent to start cutting I heard this little growl...went "wha?" and then the cougar came out of nowhere & mowed me down while I was stuck in the skinning animation.

That's the only cougar I've seen, actually.

Agreed with KingPK, if the last few missions were at the beginning it would've been a better story.
As it was all you do is hear about what a shitty guy you used to be, then you do everything they ask of you (personally I had max honor halfway through the game, so I was even righting wrongs!), you get your freedom...only to get executed.

I think it'd have worked better if it was 1912, Abigail was being held hostage by the feds & Jack had to go after Bill & Javier & Dutch, and then finish off Ross after his mother dies.

Did we ever find out how Abigail died?

Someone on the RDR wiki suggested that she may have contracted tuberculosis as apparently if you follow her around, she coughs a lot. I figured she got some shitty illness and died since it was 1914 and while it had changed, medicine wasn't really advanced at the time.

I liked how the game ended. Even though you did "right wrongs" (I played the same way) at the end of the day, John was really no better than Bill or Dutch. He still killed and robbed and all that, he just happened to get Abigail pregnant and stop what he was doing after he was badly hurt. Dutch said it pretty well in his last monologue. "When I'm gone, they'll just find another monster. They have to, they have to justify their wages." Right then and there, I knew John was next. He was the last member of the gang and by helping them kill Escuela, Williamson and Dutch, he basically put the target on himself.

Is the mission where Irish is parked outside of the Fort the last mission before you get your guy? I went to knock out all the Seth, Nigel, and other missions before I go to that.

I just saved Bonnie from hanging. Didn't love the game at first, but it's getting way more fun as I go along.

If you just saved Bonnie you have a couple things left before the Fort Mercer showdown. I can think of at least 2 things (Irish in Thieves' Landing and HORSE RACING~!) that you do before the assault on Fort Mercer.

I downloaded the most recent DLC and the explosive rifle is just beyond crazy. You liquidate people.

Man, Zombies sounded cool. Zombie Bears sounded awesome. Zombie cougars tells me this game will make me shit myself when one of them attacks at night. Regular cougars are bad enough but ZOMBIE cougars? Man, fuck.

I think I'm doomed to not get 100%... my "Wronged Woman" quest glitched and the dude never came out into the street to duel me. Now it's not on the map anymore. UGH!

Yeah I'm in for this DLC for sure. I was almost done with this game ready to trade it in. I froze when I read... that there was a zombie DLC coming out. 8) ;)

New outfits were released.

Savvy Merchant, which gets you discounts at gunsmiths and Expert Hunter which gets you more money for animal parts.

Savvy Merchant:

- Win $1000 total in gambling
- Buy or sell item at every gunsmith
- Gather $200 worth of herbs
- Execute 20 people
- Complete "The Prohibitionist" stranger task

I only need the first two for this. I'm not sure what the second task entails since I've bought and sold at all of the gunsmiths in the game.

Expert Hunter:

- Harvest 5000 lb of meat
- Kill a cougar with a stick of dynamite
- Kill and skin 8 snakes
- Kill the legendary Jackalope
- Complete the "Deadalus and Son" stranger task.

I need the middle 3. I spent about an hour and a half searching for cougars in The Wreck of the Serendipity area but didn't find but a one. He took off before I could do anything though.
