Russia Invades Ukraine

Success can be measured in a number of different ways. Stine has also published 400+ books (many of which are carbon copies or recycled) and while he has had some on-screen success, it doesn't even compare to what King has accomplished as far as his work translating to another medium.

Like, Steel is obviously a beast, but no one's ever lined up outside the theater to watch an adaptation of one of her works like the do for King or Rowling (or Oda!).

well that's why I said "if we're just talking book sales" tbf. The dropoff for Rowling from HP to her other book series in sales is huge. She was doing 50 million for the HP books. Her best since then is 2 million.

Oda wins because his super fan is Minoru Suzuki and he could beat up the other authors super fans.

Excuse me....

RL Stine has sold more than King so he isn't even the master of horror.
I’m glad someone can recognize that when it comes to pop horror, stine>King

Oda gave us this.

More surprised to see Dean Koontz had outsold King... and he also has had movie adaptations! Stop snubbing this poor soul as a master of horror!

I didn't know Dean Koontz tried to remake Frankenstein (and it was adapted into a USA Network TV movie executive produced by Martin Scorsese).

STEPHEN KING WOULD NEVER TRY TO TINKER WITH THE WORKS OF A PREVIOUS GENERATION'S MASTER OF HORROR

Stephen King thinks Kubrick's version of The Shining is bad.

In ACTUAL Ukraine talk,

Biden slipped up (or did he?....he did) and called for Putin to be overthrown which is something the US has been going out of its way to avoid saying. So his people are scrambling to put the genie back in the bottle.

Yeah obviously everyone would LOVE for Putin to go but the problem is saying he needs to go, as the POTUS is a terrible idea. It instantly taints any effort as a US plot and anyone who does try or if they actually manage (unlikely) as a US STOOGE. It's an unforced error that gives Putin some internal help.

That said I don't think it hurts him with the AVERAGE AMERICAN that much considering they want NO FLY ZONES and to start world war 3. Tough Talk always scores well.

I was reading about the Brittney Griner situation and between that and what CWM is talking about it, it really is an infuriating reminder at how complicated and dumb diplomatic relations are. It's easy to see why people get riled up and just want to bomb crap!

Guessing this ends within a month:

He ended up adapting his idea for the show into a series of novels. Those five books are actually very good, surprisingly.

Stine wrote a He-man book back in the 80s so Stine > King.
