Having Megan Thee Stallion and Jack Harlow in back to back episodes as duel host/musical guest really, really reeks of desperately trying to appeal to Gen Zers.
Now of course, SNL is supposed to appeal to high schoolers but it doesn't seem like it's going to set up for good sketch comedy!

It’s a high bar to clear but this might be the most out of touch millennial angst comment you’ve made in awhile because those two don’t belong to the gen z audience but I get it, the youths are scary to you.

I don’t think that’s true at all, specifically wrt to Megan. She’s not Gen Z age and they play her music at target, the designated safe space for all millennials. She has a broad audience that spans out.

I actually listened to the Chevy show. The usual schtick although his wife outright saying he is having memory issues sorta explains stuff.

So, rumors are some SNL writers boycotted the show.
Problem is Dave is funnier than all of the writers on SNL put together so him writing his own stuff actually just makes the show better than shitty SNL writers writing shit for him. If they really wanted to hurt him they should've wrote some of their "jokes" for him to deliver.
He just killed it on his monologue.

Even Eddie Murphy, the biggest star in the history of the show, pleaded with the crowd to vote to let Andy stay! Dick Ebersol offered an out cause he knew the crowd would vote to kick Andy Kaufman off the show but Andy didn't want to kayfabe it and legitimately thought he was going to win. He definitely worked himself into a shoot, brother.

If Gary Kroger showed up to SNL five years later, he might have had a much different & better career.
How hapless he was on SNL was part of his charm though. I mean he survives the season 9 to 10 changeover somehow and ends up part of the best cast since the originals, gets cast as a Presidential candidate…and it's Walter Mondale.

I don’t get how Sherman featured in the main cast. Seemed like she was in every sketch last night, and her batting average is probably best on the show right now.
Really liked The Christmas Carol piece. The main problem with pretape is that they can’t pause at all for laughter.

It's weird that the rest of the cast (and Lionel Richie) are standing so far back until the end. Also weird that they didn't just ask Steve Martin (or Buck Henry) to host when Nick Nolte backed out. I'm thankful that this was only time a cast member has hosted but if you had to pick just one then current SNL cast member to host, it'd have to be Eddie.
