PlayStation Plus subscription prices are increasing starting Sep 22. $60 USD / $70 CAD for 1 year, up from $50 USD/CAD. They stuck this news in a month-old blog post for some reason.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2016/07/27/playstation-plus-free-games-for-august-2016/

Edit: It was posted on Twitter as well, but as "An important update" anti-clickbait.

I have never partook in the humble bundle thing but those prices are ridiculous. How exactly does it work?

I'm assuming for this they give you a PSN store code to redeem after you choose your payment tier. Definitely going in on this.

On the WiiU/3DS humble bundle they gave you a Nintendo network code for each game, I assume you'd get a separate code for each of the PSN games as well.

/Mad that I just bought Resident Evil and Resident Evil 0 re-master for PC this fucking weekend.

I've only got the low tier right now, but it's individual PSN codes for each game. Redeem them as you usually would, on a console, or the Sony website.

If you bought them on Steam, and played less than 2 hours, you could request a refund.

Last year on Black Friday Walmart had 3 month cards for $10 each. Kinda hoping for something similar this year.

Holy shit! Online or in-store? Even with the shitty CAD I would still go all in on a deal like that.

It was in store. Could have been online as well. They're usually one in the same. My brother got me a ps4 last year and I couldn't understand why he was stocking up on 3 month cards.

If the same thing happens this year I'll likely overbuy.

I got UFC 2....it's really hard.
I've been watching the tourney that Xavier Woods has been running on YouTube and it has really made me want to check the game out. The controls do look like they have a steep learning curve though. Lots of weird stick spinning and shit like that?

Yeah pretty much. The tutorials are really shitty and I've just learned by trial and error. You literally use every damn button on the controller and in a ton of different combinations.

I got it because I loved the EA Fight Night games and I love starting out as a nobody and building them up.

I created a wrestler name named Bobby Hodge (Bobby sounded close enough to Danny) and have been winning a lot of my fights by ground and pound by taking mount but holy shit if I don't start transitioning immediately the other guy wiggles out from under me and puts me in a bad position. For a supposed wrestler my guy sure is shitty at wrestling.

My punches are really slow and don't have a ton of power on my feet (because you pick a style and as a wrestler it gave me shitty standup stats to start) but I sometimes think it'd be easier to start as a striker than a grappler because the learning curve on your feet is nowhere near what it is on the ground. But then I'd probably just get taken down and be unable to transition to anything.

I also downloaded Gat Out Of Hell from the PS Plus store last month. It was a fun little romp around hell. I love the Saints Row games but I've had my fill of the Saints Row 3 engine and story. I'm ready for something new.

My intro was SR4, one of the first games I bought when I got my PS4, and I've replayed it and still had a blast. Gave GOOH a shot and got bored quick since it lacked the humor and variety of the main game.

Has there been any word on SR5? I remember reading something about it being a time travel-themed entry, but then I've also read that it would be a return to the initial "lower budget GTA" vibe of the first one.

I started with SR3 and loved the hell out of it. Never got deep into 4. Still bitter that they took dlc and made it into a retail prices game.

So apparently it's a game called Agents of Mayhem that follows the ending from Gat Out Of Hell where you let God recreate the Earth and retcon the Saints Row universe.

SR3 had the best story and was the most fun of them all.

New PS4 Slim on the left, effectively replacing the original model. PS4 Neo's release name is PS4 Pro.

Didn't seem like there was much new announced beyond the leaks from months back. All PS4 games will play on PS4 Pro. Games going forward will support both models. Some older games will be patched to support PS4 Pro features. (Shadow of Mordor, Uncharted 4, Infamous First Light, CoD: Black Ops III, and probably a few others were mentioned.)

Main features for Pro are increased processing power to potentially enable 4K rendering, HDR, and increased detail on 1080p TVs. Increased frame rate was not really mentioned. Pro will start at a 1 TB HDD, but no mention made about faster hard drives. That's gonna be a sticking point for me; what I've seen from this console gen seems really slow.

One big thing was that all PS4s will receive a firmware update to support HDR. Whereas I think only Xbox One S and forward support it on that side. The footage of Mass Effect: Andromeda might be the most they've shown of that game to date.

So I already own a regular PS4. My TV is a regular 1080p TV. I guess there's really no reason to invest in a pro.
