Nothing stings more than hearing that games that I once owned are now super rare collector's items that go for big bucks on Ebay. I was probably one of maybe five people who bought Tron Bonne new when it was first released.

I used to own Valkyrie Profile, and I never saw justification for it's ridiculous price. I still wonder how Suikoden 2 became a $100+ game also. It doesn't add up to me. Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition is also skyrocketing. Of the current console generation, SWFU: USE and Metroid Trilogy are looking like the first truly "rare" games.

A few weeks ago I found a copy of Tomba! at Goodwill for $2. It doesn't even have a manual, but I just sold it on eBay for $50.

Man, I was just thinking about Tomba and how I really wish that becomes a PSN game soon. I spent like $30 bucks on Alundra last year, and it just came out on PSN for $5. :( :( :( :(

EDIT: Actually, now that I think about it, Alundra was free! Haha, it freezes on my PS3 so I emailed the seller, and he paypal'd me my money back. Then I checked it on my PS2 and it worked perfectly. Never sent it back. Haha! What a jerk I am.

So I got my dad the ps3 and ended up buying 21 games for it. We haven't even opened most of them. My favourites are Def Jam Rapstar and Singstar Dance which makes you look like a dick dancing with the move controller. Words cannot accurately describe the look on my face when I saw the Def Jam game had "Crush on You" by Lil Kim on it.

I got my dad a bunch of shooter games and sports games but he is still trying to figure out Madden and/or the NCAA college football game. So the phrase I've mostly heard is "the computer cheats".

A friend of mine has a Japanese PS3, and boy is it annoying hitting "O" to confirm and "X" to cancel. I kept almost exiting the menu screen when we were watching Futurama on Blu-Ray.

That said, the logic of X being cancel and O being select makes a lot of sense. I'm just not used to it.

Just bought Pacman championship edition DX....it is pretty awesome and addicting. Pretty simple game as you would guess, but it is definitely a time killer...and one you don't want to put down.

I think when I get paid again, I might go for Mega Man 9/10 combo pack....only $15.00

I have a question for Guitar Hero users here. This should probably go in the proper GH thread but I'm too lazy to look it up.

I recently did the Guitar Hero: Metallica import for my GH5 game. Since I don't own that Metallica game a friend of mine was kind enough to give me his Owner's ID code for free to do the 2.1GB import ($5.99 cost.) I know it's more common to do this for GH: Warriors of Rock but I don't own that game yet. Anyways, I was wondering, in order to play those Metallica songs online with friends and stuff do these online friends need to also have that same download done or does it work if they have the Metallica game disc? I hope I'm being quite clear with the question. The thing is, what the import does is that it treats the Metallica songs as DLC for GH5 (or GH:WoR whatever the case may be), not as a new game altogether so that's why the question came to my head. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Another question: Is GH:WoR DLC compatible with GH5 or is it WoR exclusive? I want to get Tesla's "Love Song" and that new KISS-Mas Track Pack with "Detroit Rock City" and "Calling Dr. Love" but I don't know if they'll work.

Playstation Phone is getting closer! I was going to get an iPhone 4 to replace my Blackberry.. but screw that.. if I could wait this long, I'll wait a little longer for one of these.

ps-phone-leak-2011-01-0619-32-43-rm-eng.jpg

Well, that was quick. It was just two days ago when the elusive PlayStation Phone popped up on a Hong Kong forum, and now it's back again in full exposure thanks to Chinese website IT168. It's now confirmed that said Xperia-branded device is powered by a Qualcomm Adreno 205 GPU, along with what's likely to be a 1GHz Snapdragon QSD8255 as featured on the HTC Desire HD. Interestingly, Neocore is reporting an impressive 59.1fps benchmark, which is a huge improvement from our exclusive look back in early December. Quadrant also reports a high score of 1,733, but hey, there's no saying that this is the final build, so the graphics performance may get even better.

Other tidbits found in the latest leak include the generous battery capacity of 1,500mAh, the 854 x 480 resolution on a 4-inch LCD, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash sans 720p video recording (although it's probably just that the leaksters didn't look in all the submenu in the camera app), 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a microSD slot, SIM slot, micro-USB, and a second mic on the back for active noise cancellation à la Nexus One. Interestingly, the still-empty game launcher app is now called "PlayStation Pocket." We're still unclear just what the app will run; will it be PSOne games (the company has written an emulator before), PSP games, or an entirely new lineup? (In contrast, the PSP Go has a 333MHz processor, 64MB RAM, and a 3.8-inch 480 x 272 display -- albeit on different, not-quite-comparable architecture.) Hopefully we'll know soon enough, eh Kaz? Anyhow, you can peruse some pictures and videos below, and definitely check out IT168 for the full skinny on this (somewhat tick) device.

Videos at the link above..

If you're wondering if you can play online between different titles, I'm almost certain the answer is no. They'd be different game engines; not to mention you'd be missing quite a few songs from the Metallica disc.

I don't think the DLC is backwards-compatible. It's largely forward-compatible, though not as much as on the Rock Band side. I've always been confused about this. I don't have any of the games, so I'm going by the Xbox 360 music store app, Xbox.com, and GuitarHero.com.

Through the app, it looks like, for example, the newest KISS songs are available for GH:WoR (in addition to an older 3-song pack), but when I switch over to GH5, it only shows the previous 3 songs. The Xbox.com page indicates it only works with WoR (and VIP Pass, which is the app).

The song "Panic Switch" was released for GHWT, and it shows up for all games forward, and on Xbox.com, but GuitarHero.com omits WoR. Could be they just haven't updated it, I guess.

Then there's a Jimi Hendrix track pack, which I've read does not carry forward beyond GHWT; GuitarHero.com and Xbox.com say the same, but I can't even find it in the app.

Safe bet is to assume WoR stuff doesn't work in GH5. Maybe check out the in-game store, and hopefully it'll reflect that.

Thanks, AnonymousBroccoli. The forward-compatibility issue I kinda figured out myself like you said, thru the game store. The newer WoR songs and packs do not show up. Feel a little bit dumb that I asked the question when I should've figured it out at least by browsing the game itself.

Now I have another Guitar Hero question that I don't feel dumb asking 'cause I've looked it up and tried to figure out myself with no luck so far. The GuitarHero.com FAQ states that with imported songs all platforms are allowed to delete unwanted songs. This is after you import the whole packs from World Tour, Band Hero, Smash Hits and what have you, theoretically you should be able to delete whatever songs you do not want. I've searched thruout the game and no such option is found. Aditionally, I should also be able to delete songs I've purchased and I can't seem to find how to do this either. GuitarHero.com Forums kinda give a solution but for Wii mostly and of course I'm talking about PS3 so those doesn't work. I'm thinking about accessing my PS3's HDD directly and delete but I have no idea how to do this. Anybody can shed any light on this?

I think the PS3 stores all DLC for a single game as a single file, which is kinda poor. As a result, if you want to delete one thing, you have to delete everything. That sort of thing is under the Game main menu/XMB, scroll up to Game Data Utility. I don't honestly know how it's organized. I've got a LittleBigPlanet Profile entry (which you'd think would be save data, but anyways), a single LittleBigPlanet Downloadable content entry, in spite of the many things I've downloaded... and then there's two ambiguous LittleBigPlanet entries beyond that. I don't know what they are, frankly. Could be one's for install data, and one's for patches. Uncharted 2 has 2 entries--one with a suffix of 1.09, which I assume is the patch. It'd be nice if things were more consistent.

It's a mix of both. I've had some game's DLC come up as a separate file.. but then others get integrated into the original game install data.

Megaman 9 is kicking my ass all over the house. How the hell was I beating these games when I was 12? Seriously, WTF?

9 is 10x harder than any of the other games in my experience. I think that's the whole reason they added an "easy" mode to 10.

Yes, that single file for all DLC on each game really puzzled me so that's why I was asking the question. I suppose if I were next to import Band Hero for GH5 then I'd have to settle with having Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and all those kiddie acts listed alongside my Metallica and KISS songs unless somehow I figure out how to delete them from my PS3 like GuitarHero.com says I should be able to.
I just registered on their Forums just to see if this specific question could get answered. Sometimes some Guitar Hero inside info guy posts answers so hopefully one way or another I'll get some info. I'll post here whatever answers I get, if any.

In Rock Band 3, there's an in-game option to delete songs, though all it really does is save you the trouble of deleting the file from the Xbox 360 Dashboard. If the song is part of a pack, it'll delete that whole pack; no way to remove a single song, unless it's stored on the hard drive as a single.

Is there anything worthwhile to do at home? I spent a lot of time in the LittleBigPlanet room and that was pretty cool. Most of the other rooms seem like a launching platform for retail games.

Do games like Tekken or Street Fighter unlock addition features in the rooms or add stuff to your avatar?

Supposedly the PSP2 will be revealed this week. Despite the disaster that was the first PSP I've found myself getting mildly excited about it. A PS2/3 powerful portable has potential, especially if the hackers come through and find ways to play my PS2 collection on it like I can play my PS1 games on the original PSP. But the more I think about it the more I expect games to be download only, and if that's the case then Sony can fuck RIGHT off.

FUUUUUUUUUUUCK, the final fight against
SATAN
in Castlevania Lords of Shadow is a pain in my ass! I got to the half-way point, and was on the receiving end of the PS3 crash glitch. I haven't gotten the patch yet, so that's the first time I've had that issue.
