I just got Crazy Taxi as it was on sale, no Offspring though :(

I remember that being an issue with the PSP version, though that version did support custom soundtracks.

Why wouldn't the PS3 version? Can any PS3 games do custom soundtracks?

Just press the PS menu button and choose music. You should be able to play your music from there. Works for me.

So..for $250 I can get a PS3 or a Vita.

Why would I get a Vita again?

My PS3 stopped reading any discs. I can still play downloaded games and anything else already on the PS3. Anyone experience this before? I don't want to have to replace the damn thing.

This happened to my launch 60GB PS3. The blu ray drive needs to be replaced.

How much is that? Is it better to just buy a new PS3?

The laser lens could just be dirty, or the blu ray drive needs to be replaced.

I am assuming your PS3 is out of warranty. If so, first step call Sony, get a quote. Then I would google local shops, see what they would replace it for, however make sure they are replacing the blu ray drive with a quality one, not just some piece of shit drive that they get on the cheap.

This happened to me before a couple years ago, a local shop replaced the blu ray drive and everything has been fine since. If you are savvy enough, there are plenty of video tutorials on youtube showing you how to open up the PS3 and do it yourself, but that is up to you.

Oh, and if you do go the local shop route, make sure they give you at least a 6 month warranty on their parts & labor. The guy who replaced my blu ray drive said a lot of times when you buy these types of drives in bulk, there is bound to be some duds in there that will work for a few days and crap out.

I was just going to post that. Make sure that your lens isn't just dirty before you go out and replace the drive or buy a new PS3. My girlfriend's cousin did that and spend $300 on a new PS3 for no reason when he found out that a simple lens cleaning fixed the other one up a-ok.

Has it already been mentioned that NFL Sunday Ticket can now be purchased via PS3 without owning Direct TV? This is pretty big, especially considering it came to PS3 before 360....when has that ever happened in the past few years (besides indie games of certain varities?)

Been watching a lot of gameplay of PayDay: The Heist, which comes out on the PSN later this year. It's a L4D clone, where you try to rob a bank/crackhouse, etc and get the money. You have a variety of objectives to complete before you are done. Levels take 15-30 minutes to complete. Looks like it may be fun, but something about the game has been a little pessimistic. I'll wait for the reviews before downloading it.

They've also gotten MLB.tv and NHL Center Ice, which I don't think XBL has. And there was a Netflix update a while back to allow 1080p, or 5.1, or something like that.

I downloaded the Resistance 3 Beta a little while ago. Can't say the multiplayer will sell me on that game. Then again, I didn't bother with R2 either.

Can't believe I never heard of this game. Same boat as you; sounds awesome, but so easy to screw up I'm not paying $20 until I know how it works outside the developer's office.

It actually supports both 1080p and 5.1 on select titles, which to my knowledge, is still a PS3 exclusive. No other console or browser supports as such.

Since I've hit a bit of a wall with games to play, I swung by GameStop yesterday and picked up both Ratchet & Clank PS3 games. I also have Quest for Booty, the downloadable game as well. Been enjoying the first game immensely. It's been a long time since I've played a game and not had to "worry" about getting all the trophies or anything. That said, Crack in Time does have Trophy support.

Well, Disgaea 4 is out next week, and I'm a sucker for Disgaea games, so I guess I'll pick it up.

In the article I linked to, Squenix finally acknowledged why they are shying against a FF7 remake. They said for a PSX game to look like anything other than absolute shit in HD, they would pretty much have to redo all of the graphics. A PS2 title is supposedly a simple up-convert on resolution. For what it would cost them to redo all of the FF7 graphics, they said they could just do FF15 instead. I'm not happy with the reasoning (I want a FF7 remake just as much as anyone else), but at least they've spit-out a reason.

FFX is my all-time favorite game, so to say I am pumped for this is the understatement of the year. It was already one of the best-looking PS2 games despite coming out a year after launch. I have a 60GB BC PS3 and the game looks fantastic played in 1080p, so I'm very excited for how much better it will look.

Well, Sony says that it's "thinking" about a solution that would accommodate PlayStation Portable owners who want to experience those games on the Vita, but it had no firm details to share at its Tokyo Game Show press conference.

Just like they thought about finding a solution for UMD owners when the PSPgo came out, and then they thought 'hey fuck them let's make more money!' Which I assume will be the same conclusion they reach with the Vita.
