I've been meaning to pick up Assassin's Creed 2 for a while, and the PSN has it, plus the 2 DLC packs for $9.99. Downloading it now!

Yeah, $9.99 total for the whole package. Also, I didn't get charged taxes at the checkout either, so it got even better! Looks like it will only be on during E3 though.

Yeah, went and snagged it too. That's a cool deal.

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/35133/Report_PlayStation_Vita_Will_Be_Region_Free.php

At an E3 PlayStation Vita session, Sony said that the upcoming handheld console will be region free, according to media reports.

Talking during the session, and reported by games site IGN, SCEE vice president Michael Denny noted that, as far as he was aware, the console is going to be region free, allowing games from any region to be played on any Vita console.

Sony unveiled the PSVita earlier this week at E3, noting a partnership with AT&T for the device’s optional 3G functionality in North America.

The device will come in two models, one with Wifi and another with Wifi and 3G connectivity, and Sony announced that the device will cost $249.99 for Wifi-only models and $299.99 for 3G models. The device will be released this year.

PSVita's rival console, Nintendo's 3DS, is region-locked. Nintendo said that this was in place so that it could offer "network services specifically tailored for each region," and that it "wants to ensure the best possible gaming experience for our users."

After saying I was going to do it for years, I finally upgraded my PS3's Hard Drive from 80 GB to 500GB. Took like 10 minutes, tops.

Yep - I did the same thing a few months ago. Surprising how easy it is.

Welcome Back ends in early July, so if you haven't snagged your 30 days of Plus & 2 free games, do it now. You can get in the Uncharted 3 beta if you have Plus, which is a nice bonus.

Yeah it'd be a nice bonus if it didn't freeze and crash every time I try to get into a game..

Finally reunited with my PS3 after being separated for 5 months. I honestly didn't expect Sony to be as generous as they were with the Welcome Back stuff. Not that they shouldn't have been generous though. Having 4 new games is pretty sweet, although I can't seem to get Wipeout to work.

If I knew the Uncharted 3 beta was a Plus feature, I would have tried to sell the beta code I got from buying InFamous 2. Anyway, I'm about to try this beta out!

Aaaaaaaand I can't get it to work. Keeps saying "Error initializing session manager". :(

I got into two games. One co-op which was slightly laggy. One team death match which was so laggy it was impossible for me to play. The game mechanics itself I like. If they can fix the server stuff for the beta I'm sure it'll be a great experience. I love that they've added customization to the character models.

I played about 3 rounds of team deathmatch this morning. Took forever for my first match to start. But no lag in either round. At least, nothing too noticeable. Everything ran smoothly, although I wasn't very good. Loved multiplayer in Uncharted 2, but I guess I'm hella rusty.

They extended the Welcome Back program one more day because people are incredibly stupid and can't read. If you can't redeem this shit in 30 days it's your own damn fault.

I'm kind of unimpressed with Playstation Plus. So far there is just nothing I want to even download for free and the games that have the discount, I'm just not even interested in.

I took "expires July 3" and "available through July 3" to mean "You can still get it July 3". I couldn't get it last night.

Granted, I accepted that I was dumb for waiting 'til the last hour and a half, and obviously didn't care all that much if I hadn't redeemed it yet. "9am Pacific on Tuesday July 5th" is specific enough that people shouldn't complain if they still miss it (if they were complaining).

I'm an extra double dummy. I went and got the free Welcome Back games with the extra time, but figured I'd leave the PS+ redemption until after midnight Pacific, and then forgot about it before I went to bed.

The free PS+ stuff gets auto-added for those of us who are already PS+ members, right?

Nope. Get your downloads fired up. Content that gets auto-downloaded is either specific first-party stuff, or in the case of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, if they pay for the right to be auto-downloaded to your console.

I took that question to mean the extended free months of having a PS+ membership required no clicking around on anything (which I also assumed to be true).

Here is an article from Gamesradar. This collector owns every NTSC PS2 release, factory sealed.

It supposedly only took 4 years, and he has WAY too much free money, IMO.

I found "Mark of Kri" for .99 cents at EBGames and picked it up. It's pretty fun stealth killing people. I don't play this sort of game very often so it was a fun change of pace. Doesn't seem to have much replay value though.

I'm still on PS2 but it's getting closer and closer to dying. I'll probably upgrade at Xmas time. People try to sell me on the Wii or 360 but I can't see myself switching brands. I'm not big on change so I'll stick with PS. Until then I'm going to try some of the more famous games from PS2 now that it's so easy to find them cheap.

Years ago during a buy 2 get 1 free sale, the guy at Gamestop fucked up when I bought Mark of Kri. It was $8, and was the free game. I also had an Edge card at the time (I...don't even know why really), and he took the 10% off the $8 after making it free so Gamestop basically paid me 80 cents to take Mark of Kri from them. That was also the day I bought Culdcept. It was a GOOD day for my gaming.

So, I see all these PS3 games that say they will display in 1080p if you have an HD input that supports something called HDCP. How would I know if a TV supports this?

HDCP is basically a technical DRM. Without explaining a bunch of stuff that I have gaps in knowledge of and am too lazy to look up on YouTube, as long as you have an HDMI connection (Or DVI? I dunno if DVI supports HDCP, but it should) from your PS3 to your TV, you are fine. Analog component cables can support 1080P, but without HDCP you will be cut to 480i or 480p.

That's strange. I am running my PS3 using HDMI and have a full HD LCD, however I can only run certain games up to 1080i. BRDs play in full 1080p though.

Anyone pickup LIMBO now that it is available on PSN? Played through it the other night. Nice little creepy platforming game. Somewhat pricey for the short(ish) length of the game, but I really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I finished it the other day. Really neat little game. Amazing atmosphere and design. Very solid and simple controls. Still, $15 is pretty steep. $10 would be about right.
