There's a new Suikoden game of some sort coming out, but it's only in Japan, and for the PSP of all things. Not likely to ever see the light of day in America, so this makes me a sad panda. If it gets a UMD release I can at least port a copy over here, but I don't know if it's going to get a physical release or be download only.

Looking at the X-Men bundle for $24.9 on the Playstation Video Store, but all the movies are in stereo standard definition. Fffffff.

Long time wrestling fans and lawsuit followers may recall when McDonald's had Hulk Hogan testify about the temperature of their hot coffee.

This is how much I've changed as a gamer. I bought Ridge Racer 7 and I played it for awhile. I found out there were no trophies for it and I am kind of disappointed. How will people know how much time I wasted on the game? It's a good game even without the trophies.

So after much hemming and hawing for a while, I decided a needed a blu-ray player and wanted to play with my friends online (most of my good friends from California and elsewhere only have PS3s) and not have to pay for it, so I'm ordering a PS3 with a couple of controllers as soon as my trade in for my 360 arrives with Amazon and they give me the trade-in discount. I'll probably be getting about $150 or so for the console (older 20GB version) two controllers, and a game collection that spanned mostly ports games and whatnot.

So I'm going to be rebuilding my game collection with the PS3. Off the bat, I'll be getting Mass Effect 2 (was addicted to ME1 on 360) and Madden 12, and will probably follow up sports purchases with NBA 2k12 and FIFA 12 later on as well and I think I'm going to get Little Big Planet for my wife. Anyone have any other recommendations? I found most of the games I played were cross-platform anyways which is why it didn't matter to me much on what was exclusive to 360, i.e. I never owned Halo or Rock Band or Gears of War but I'm intrigued by PS3's apparently large collection of RPGs. I heard Uncharted is a pretty awesome game and I might want to pick up LA Noire as well (I'm aware it's cross-platform).. pretty nice that it doesn't seem any games require a disc change on PS3 and if they do, they're really huge games.

edit: Also, is it worth getting the 320GB version? I don't have any interest in Move and I somehow managed with the 20GB hard drive I had on my 360 mostly fine. It'd save me $100. Are saves and shit way bigger on PS3?

Don't bother with the 320 gig. You can easily upgrade the HDD later if need be. The game installs can sometimes be large but unless you are storing tons of videos and music on the hard drive you won't run out of space.

Is this thread just for PS3 or PS2 also? Because if it isn't for PS2 than ignore this.

I rented Shadow of the Colossus and The Force Unleashed from the local video game store this afternoon. I've rented the latter before but never got around to playing it because I was too caught up in X-Men Legends II. I'm hoping to at least start Shadow after DMC tonight.

Thanks for this; saving the $100 will allow for me to get a couple more games, too. I just ordered FIFA12 since there's a $10 credit and a free Fathead, too. Good to see the HDD upgrade is easier on PS3 than the 360, too. Looking at it online, it seems like it's about the same thing as swapping out the HDD in a notebook for a bigger one. Awesome!

Nice. Shadow is being re-released for the PS3 tomorrow. While I don't want to spend money on videogames right now, Shadow & Ico in one package is going to be hard to pass up.

My game queue is quickly filling up. I picked up NHL 12 the other day. Fantastic game which will chew up a lot of my time. Then I have Ratchet and Clank: Crack in Time to play. Also, I'm a PS Plus member, so I got RE1, 2, 3, 4 and Veronica X for $20 off the PSN this week. Plus I have MW3 pre-ordered.

Yeah, the Plus members got a sweet deal of those Resident Evil games. I'm not a member so I ended up paying $20 just for RE4 but I didn't mind too much because I love that game and don't have it anymore. I'm going to hold out on Code Veronica X until it's 50% off because that game is too old to warrant a $20 price tag.

I ended up ordering the Ico/Shadow collection for about $30 bucks so that's not bad. I'm playing all these re-releases though. My next purchase will have to be something completely new. I'm pretty much over the MW games though, so that's out of the question.

Just ordered my PS3 yesterday! To start off my game collection I've got:
FIFA 12
Heavy Rain
Mass Effect 2
LittleBigPlanet (mostly for my wife)
L.A. Noire

I'm probably going to be getting some of the older titles used or on special, but I really want Ico/Shadow and I'm thinking about the Uncharted games but don't know much about them yet. I'll also probably get CoD to play with my friends online.

On the bad side of things, I couldn't get trade-in credit for the 360 because I apparently entered in the wrong trade-in code, so instead of waiting another 3 weeks to go through the whole process, I'm just going to trade it in to Gamestop or sell it on eBay or something.

Shadow of the Colossus was way out of my league as a gamer. I've never been any good at puzzles or running/grabbing at the right time stuff though I like trying them. It's obviously a great game but I wasn't making any headway. I'm going to swap it for something else. The Force Unleashed is more my speed and is fun.

Chrono Trigger will be available on the PSN on Tuesday. I'll pass, but they hinted that Chrono Cross may be on the way too. I'm all over that.

Well seeing as Chrono Trigger is arguably the greatest RPG ever made I would advise you to pick it up and play the shit out of it good sir.

The version they'll be selling also has a few new endings that help tie in to Chrono Cross. Also, given the speed of a PS3 hard drive compared to a disc, there will be no loading.

Get the DS version. It has the animated scenes, and no slow loading times like the Playstation version had.

And two new dungeons, and a brand new end boss who is so god damned spoileriffic, but ties in to Chrono Cross perfectly.

Dream Devourer, who is Schala merged with Lavos, the same end boss of Chrono Cross

The DS version is easily the best version of Chrono Trigger. Overall I've surely still logged in more hours in total on the SNES cart, but I'm probably not far behind on the DS one. I've just played the ever loving shit out of that thing.

Has anyone downloaded any of the PS2 games that were released on PSN this week? I haven't played any of them, but I'm tempted to get Maximo or God Hand. Odin Sphere looks really cool too. The others don't interest me too much (Grim Grimmoire and Ring of Red) because I don't play too many RTS games.
