Thats what always bugged me about the prequals. When i saw ANH, and the clone wars were mentioned i immediatly wanted to know what that shit was all about.
Cut to 1999, and I was under the impression that Phantom Menace would have Anakin as a teenager on tattoine finding that he is able to control shit etc, and gets recruited to the jedi way. The film should have ended with the clone wars breaking out.
Episode 2: Clone wars. A pg13 jedi vs clone warfilm (which i honestly thought the clones would be heel jedi versions)
Episode 3: Anakins final fall to the darkside which considering the badass he becomes in the suit, more than a OMG PADME DIED... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO would constitute.
IMO the whole premise to anakins fall was crap. He wasnt able to save his mother even when he got force vision about her torment, so they tried to pan that off for padme and him being desperate to save her, no matter the cost to his sanity.
Anakin should have been a tweener the ENTIRE way through the series, fighting for truth justice and the.. republic way, but going about it in whatever way he deems to fit to the required suituation.
The final complete heel turn should have been something along the lines of him being forced to choose between the jedi way about not choosing sides, or saving the republic and its ruler, Palpatine who has gave him guidence, he chooses the republic and turns on the jedis thusly we have vader.

Episode II 3D and Episode III 3D will both come out in fall of 2013. Episode II in September and III in October.
If this means getting to the good movies sooner I'm all for it.

I'm pretty sure everyone on the planet except for George Lucas wanted that to happen. I'm not trying to be a dick, but seriously, who the fuck wanted to see 8 year old Darth Vader? I will admit I remember thinking the poster with the kid but with Darth Vader's shadow was cool, but that was before I saw the movie, and before I realized a Star Wars movie could be that bad.

How about Thrawn? Not as intimidating as the Emperor or Vader, but he'd would add a less maniacal, more Bond villain element. If they want psycho, they could add another moff or admiral to be his stalking horse or public face. Not Zsinj (too big a pussy), not Isard (too localized, tries too much to be like Thrawn)... maybe Daala?
They'll most like leave canon alone though and come up with something new.

Hiring on the head writer from Knights of the Old Republic, Drew Karpyshyn, would be a good idea, I think. In more recent times, he was the head writer for the Mass Effect series for the first couple of games.
Also, if Disney is buying Lucas for so much money, there's going to be more than just three movies.
