Its different and its taken some getting used to but I'm starting to really enjoy the structure it gives as well as the ability to evolve one story into the next. And its heart its basically the booking I did on EWR in my head actually spelled out for me on the show instead of just happening in my mind.
Biggest issues are that I end up feeling limited in my options, which is silly of course since I can write my own story or do an "unchained" story which is no different from an EWR feud. Or the bigger problem is when I book a whole bunch of steps in the story on a card but fuck up one "catalyst/support/target/subject" spot and end up doing it all for nothing. That and I've encountered a few stories that seem to have mistakes in the steps which sometimes force me to do a nonsensical angle or 1 or 2 I just haven't found a way to resolve and had to end/evolve the story after a bunch of failed tries.
I did write my first story, though, to set up a "simple" X Division 6 way feud and it seems to be working well enough. So I think I'm going to try writing some kind of mildly complicated World Title story or 4 Tag Team story and see how it goes. Figure as long as I make the first 3 steps easy I can evolve it into something else if I fuck up.
The game is really involved but I'm a micro-managing sort of guy so I'm starting to really dig it. I just finally got TV on in Japan so I'm hoping to start building a fanbase there and Europe since the economy is going up there while its in the tank in America and Canada. That sort of thing is kind of cool for me but probably doesn't interest a lot of other EWR players who just wanted to do the wrestling stuff.
Now if only the popular workrate guys in Japan like Bryan Danielson, Ultimo Dragon, and Jushin Liger would agree to negotiate with me instead of telling me they can get more money elsewhere. I swear, I'll pay more than your lowest deal.
