New video from Jorn. I swear this dude is the ugliest motherfucker alive when he sings but his voice is unbelievable. I'd kill for he and Marco Heitala to work together at some point!

Everyone needs to listen to this. Or at least the last 10 minutes.

That sounds way better than I was expecting. A mix between Heartwork and Necroticism and blows every song on Swansong away. Bill Steer's vocals sound better than ever.

Feel free to skip this post if you're not interested in hearing another one of my band's demos.

Anyone listen to the new Amon Amarth yet? Any idea who's doing the vocals on Satan Rising? Almost sounds like the Ghost BC vocalist, though I don't think it's him.

I probably missed the discussion on this, but anyone catch the Black Metal girl on America's Got Talent? She's going to be highly sought after when she gets a little older if she can still do this.

So Frankie Bello (Anthrax bassist) is doing a live Q&A tonight at a Guitar Center right by my job. I think I might drop by for the hell of it (it's free) and maybe get a picture with him.

According to the GC website, the drummer from Shadows Fall will be there next Monday.

Skip the Shadows Fall drummer's Q&A. He's a generic metalcore drummer. All he'll teach you is how to time your kick triplets to the guitar/bass and maybe talk about that one remotely interesting fill he does in "The Power of I and I."

Funny because the people on line for the Bello thing were praising the dude and saying how much they couldn't wait for his session. Yeah, I'm not really a Shadows Fall fan but he's apparently not going to be talking about them at all but his other band, Toxik. Are they worth checking out?

Why am I now just getting on the X Japan bandwagon? My brother was super into them in the late 90's but I never cared to listen to their stuff. When I moved into my new place a few weeks ago, he gave me two of their CD's to listen to and am now officially hooked. Have been listening to this song nonstop since Saturday. I know they have quite the following in the states and now regretting not going to their show the one time they played in New York a few years ago.

The new Black Dahlia Murder album may just be their best one yet. It doesn't rely on the At the Gates-style riffs they used to rely on too heavily for Unhallowed, Miasma, and Nocturnal, and it's much more focused than Deflorate, and it's a good continuance of Ritual.

Yep. TBDM is the best band of their generation, easily. The only hiccup is Miasma, really, but with all of the lineup changes following Unhallowed it was expected.

On the plus side, Deftones and Ghost will be touring together. On the minus side, with Avenge Sevenfold.

I have a few friends that have seen them in the past year and they say they're really solid. They're big fans of the Deftones, so it might just be the fandom talking.

New Kamelot video for "My Confession". It's not "March of Mephisto", but it's still a good video. I'm holding out hope that "Veritas" gets a video at some point.

I saw Deftones nine years ago, and outside a couple of songs they sounded horrid. It could be where they were playing too because it was at the SkyDome where the acoustics are awful when the dome is closed.

I happen to be in Cleveland right now and just found out that Ghost joined up with the Baroness/Royal Thunder tour for one night only tomorrow. Actually missed Ghost a few months ago because their Pittsburgh show sold out.

Fleshgod Apocalypse is playing in Cambridge next Friday (August 9). They're with Wintersun, Arsis, and the uber-faggotry of Starkill.

Seeing Fleshgod, though, is imperative. That would mark seeing both of the big Italian death acts in the same year (as Hour of Penance opened for Cannibal Corpse earlier this year).
