I know I created a thread for the movie on the other site but that forum now seems dead unless it's a PPV Sunday or a Monday night, so I thought I would create a thread here. Recently, Michael Bay released another clip of the movie of the movie and it gets awesome at the 1:33 mark:

Transformers Sho West Footage

Things that I noticed:

+ Optimus is holding a gun
+ Insecticons
+ Jetfire (with cane and beard)
+ Devestator fighting Bumblebee
+ Optimus is fighting three Decepticons (one appears to be Blackout) in a forest
+ An insecticon going down Shia's mouth
+ Frenzy version 2

Still no footage of Soundwave although this did turn up recently on how he may look:

I dunno if it's the clip itself or the size of the embed but that thing was loading waaaaay too slowly for me to have the patience to view it.

After never having watched the cartoons, I didn't get all the outrage about the first one. I enjoyed it- will probably check this one out, too.

I didn't hate it because I am a fan boy. I hated it because it was a bad movie.

This one on the other hand should be quite good.

Oh, and the video no longer works.

As a complete transformers geek, I cant wait. I loved the first one even tho it dragged a good bit. But heres hoping they dont murder the concept of the "fallen"

Exact reasons (amongst many, MANY others) why the first one sucked.

Entertainment Weekly had a write up about Transformers for their Summer Movie Preview. They were nice enough to include a picture of a robot and mention them once in passing. The rest was about how much stuff was exploding, why it was deemed too expensive to replace Shia's broken hand with CGI, and just how much the Air Force likes Michael Bay. I let out a smug laugh at all that rigmarole.

Did they say the Air Force liked Michael Bay b/c his movie could be one big ad for their coveted F-22? If so, LOL, didn't work out for them.

F-16s actually. Michael Bay demands quiet on the set out of respect for the F-16s flying over for a shot. The Air Force does it out of love, but not at taxpayer expense.

I know one of the Transformers is an F-22.
That would be Starscream.

And how the hell are you supposed to CGI someone's hand. I know there's a case in the Star Wars prequels but...yeah.

Hmm, I'm not so sure.

Bumblebee singing "I'm so excited" made me facepalm hard.

Megatron "talking" to Sam is also a bit weak.

I'm also unhappy to see the "wormy agent guy" back. I hated that guy.

Having said that, the TV spots look cool.

EDIT: I also had a chance to play with the new figures (Soundwave and Bumblebee), they were both flimsy and shit. I broke Bumblebee's head off twice whilst trying to transform him and Soundwave's transformation doesn't make sense/work, even when following the instructions.

I was looking at some of the Revenge of the Fallen toys in Target this afternoon. I noticed a Bumblebee arm thing that transforms from a fist to a blaster. When you press the Autobot insignia at the bottom of the thing, a short clip of "The Touch" plays. I nearly nerd-gasmed.

I had a full blown nerdgasm when that came into my (now) old work. I filmed it and showed it to my friends and didn't feel ashamed for doing so.

I read an interview with the writers of the film and this quote made me chuckle:

"We didn't have the script finished due to the writers strike, so Michael just went away and filmed some explosions until the strike was over. Then we finished the script"

Wheelie

Looks like they replaced Wheelie's annoying rhyming with lots of cursing instead.

And for the record, he is voiced by Tom Kenny - the voice of Spongebob.

I don't know if it's just me, but that looked pretty bad. When his "feet" get stuck in the mouse traps, was that supposed to be funny? This is going to be one bad movie.

Yeah, seeing a clip like that doesn't give me a lot of faith in the movie.
