On the latest episode of the Limitless Wrestling podcast and they mentioned that there's an EWA Reunion six man tag team happening in Massachusetts featuring Dr. Heresy, Adam Booker, Aaron Morrison and some other unnnamed '00s New England indie guys dusting off the trunks for one last go around. Now this might make @Laz miss New England. Probably not but maybe!

In the Ray Odyssey thread on Kayfabe Memories, he tells a great story about him and Taz sharing a hotel room and Taz liked to go to bed early while Ray went out and partied with the other IWCCW locker room. Anyway, him and Vic Steamboat came back to the room at 4 AM and started jumping on Taz's bed to piss him off and Taz got up and gave Vic a shoot belly to belly suplex.

When they were making the loops in IWCCW, Taz would shush Ray Odyssey and Tommy Dreamer whenever Extreme's "More Than Words" came on the radio cause he loved it so much.

Dr. Heresy is actually working pretty regularly for a promotion in Central Maine called Vacationland Pro.

BAH GAWD! A fan has uploaded the EWA tribute match to YouTube!

Well. They look like guys who mostly haven't wrestled in 10-15 years but it's less depressing than Flair's last match. Also that venue looks cool as hell for an indie.

Yeah, sure, Jack almost kills Grimes. But true purests just know it as the night a sleazy porn company didn't deliver on two pornstars in a buck naked match.

I'm baffled as to why Sean O'Haire didn't have a run in mid '00s TNA.

He did wrestle the yearly TNA affiliated indie show at the AAA ballpark in Buffalo in Summer of '04 though. His opponent? ABYSS!

He was stuck in house show and dark match limbo until the post WrestleMania XX roster purge. He probably would have just missed out on that era. Sean O'Haire seems tailor made for Asylum era TNA.

Look at these cool dads.
The NWA picked up steam in the late 90s due to Howard Brody and what not, and that included Green Bay's indy group becoming an affiliate. Since I was on the fringe of the backstage situation for our Shindy (I knew several of the workers personally, watched WWF PPVs at a tiny hick bar with Ken (Anderson) Kennedy and his buddy Shane Hills (who still works locally) and was casually chatty with the owner a bunch of times and even attended a bar party/karaoke/booking meeting.
Long story short, the NWA promised them stuff like reduced rates to bring stars in and it never fulfilled the promise and potential.
Our group did get Road Dog, Lawler, Raven, Gangrel, Brutus and others. I probably saw CM Punk in the early 2000s and didn't know him from Steve for the most part.
Our Shindy also gave the world Hornswoggle, who was Shortstack at the time.
Kevin Kruger was probably the most notable regular as he had done WWF job duty a bunch.
Peter B Beautiful of Ian Rotton infamy was "The Wisconsin Cream" Busty Loades here. One of my favorites!

When Hornswoggle made it to WWE and came back to visit his buds at a bar, I went over to talk to him. Apparently I broke midget etiquette as I bent over to hear him in the noisy bar and he got pissed off that I didn't stand up straight and treat him like a full sized man.

That self reflection made me a little sad. Maybe I should have moved more into being a stooge for the local Shindy. I don't think I was too keen on driving several hours for a hot dog and hand shake though. Up until 10 years ago I pretty much worked every weekend.

Here's my buddy's largely botched attempt to tape me and Brutus meeting:

I cornered Beefcake in the bar later that night. I bought him some beers, but he sure gave the vibes off that he'd rather look for a Wisconsin 6 to give him a BJ than answer some geek's old school questions.

Looking up listings on Fite.TV if there's anything going on in rasslin that I forgot about and found this.

Oooooh

I'm imagining him wrapping his shin guards in barbed wire to deliver an EXTREME FIGURE FOUR!

(Dang it. I don't have any Fite credits available!)

Edit---Looking at Hammer's Cagematch. He did do a tour of Big Japan in '95 that included a no rope barbed wire death match with Kendo Nagaski.

Hot diggity dog, @BruiserBrody, this is on Tubi for free.

Series also includes a '00s Jerry Lawler Vs Curt Hennig match that is "Matches You Didn't Think Existed" thread.

I also see pro wrestling's preeminent NEW ENGLAND MAN the late great Tony Rumble is heavily featured in the series.
