Always meant to play it, but I picked up "The Force Unleashed" today for pretty cheap (only paid about $10 for it as I had money left on a gift card). It's not perfect, but I was in the mood for a hack and slash game so it's filling the need.

I heard though that it has one of the things I dread, and that's like battles every 15 seconds and nearly insane difficulty.

Not that I dread it as in doing it, but dread it as in playing it.

I'm only 8 hours in but there's barely any random battles and it's one of the easier RPGs I've played in years.

10 hours in now and I will say I am starting to get some game overs in airship battles. They are very fun and strategic and you can't really grind since the airship doesn't level up. And yes I quoted myself.

2 days later I beat The Force Unleashed. I may try another play through to try to get a few of the easier trophies here and there that I missed, but aside from that, I'll be trading it in when I get Modern Warfare 2 next week.

I started playing Faxanadu for the NES a few days ago. I loved it as a kid, but could never beat it. Let's see how far I get this time.

It's just brilliant.

However, I will argue that Castle of Illusion was the best of the 4 main Disney games on the Mega Drive.

Another game i'll remember fondly.

It somehow had 2d music too.

Quackshot was awesome. Splatterhouse was better on the TG16.

If I weren't moving soon I'd have a bunch of my old games out :(

Being a slight bit of an achievement whore, I looked through my Gamer Profile at some of the simple games I played briefly to see what kind of quick bumps I could do. I noticed I only had 200/1000 on Spider-man: Friend or Foe, so I popped that in. I beat the game easily last night but the achievement total was at 925/1000 because the final 75 is to fully upgrade all 14 playable characters. The thing is, it takes way more points to upgrade than you get in one playthrough. The final boss battle is worth almost 5X more than normal levels, so I played the Final Boss battle I guess about 7 times this morning to finish that achievement and get my 1000/1000. After that, I tossed in College Hoops 2k8 because I noticed I had a goose egg on that. Think I just played a game once, so I put it in and got like 230, unlocked like 7 achievements. Maybe now I'll treat myself to one of the new games I have sitting, waiting to play.

I fucking loved the lion king and aladdin on megadrive.

But ive been blasting through Wii Super Mario Bros, and i keep dying in the most retarded ways. Ive also had a couple of races in F1 2009... the stearing with the remote is horrid, im using the nunchuck like a normal controller.

Disney games were killer on NES too. I remember Lion King being really hard on Genesis (the stage after the stampede in the jungle, I think. Then again, I was like 10.)

Finished Nostalgia and the FAQ is under way. Hell of a game.

Dug out the Sega and roommate and I have been playing old Sega baseball games.

Also trying to beat GTA4, which I just got a couple months ago. I do a couple missions and then go off on a spree for an hour. Got to stay focused. Not sure if I can 100% it, these pigeons are a right pain in the ass.

I still say 'What a comeback' and occasionally 'Oh doctor' in my best Sega Sports Talk guy voice.

I have been playing Final Fantasy X these last few days. I have spent about 25 hours on the game, so far. This is my first time trying a Final Fantasy game, but watched my girlfriend play it twice, so it's been pretty easy to pick up.

It's the most n00b friendly one I think, and one of the best. Glad you're enjoying it. The sequel is a lot different but has some good gameplay if you can overcome the questionable design choices in story and characters.

My thoughts on FFX are well known. But it is easiest one to introduce yourself to the series. Try IX next. Not only is it a better game, it's also not that difficult to get into.

You don't like FFX? Souless BASTARD!

I hate that game. I didn't like any of the characters, I didn't like the story, I didn't like that basketball game and I loathed that it made me play it at one point and I really hated the voice acting.

Having said that, I liked it's leveling system and it's music.

...and the tag in, tag out fighting worked quite well.

luke...I don't even KNOW you anymore! :p

Nah, I can understand why someone wouldn't like that game. Tidus is a bit of a whiney bitch that couldn't (or wouldn't?) understand shit, but the story drew me in and the ending was wonderful.

I thought the story of X was awsome. But i couldnt take the big bads name serious. Was it trying to send a message to the world that sin will destroy you if you let machina rule your life?

I did hype it a lot before it came out. I was a little bit in love with the series at that time. I don't know, maybe it just didn't live up to the hype I gave it.

I should go back and replay it. Perhaps I was wrong.

...I wasn't, but it would good of me to check.

FIFA 2002. Bought World Cup 2006 on the cheap, but have never been able to figure out the controls based on what I was used to with 02.

I love me some FFX. Yea, Blitzball is horrid, and I usually avoid it except for the couple minutes where the game forces you to play. Really great game though.

I have to learn to stop playing Borderlands when I have to work the next morning. Impossible to put down until long after it's possible to get a fdecent night's sleep.
