Ghostbusters was pretty good for the 20 dollar price point, but unless you're a GB fanatic I wouldn't suggested dropping 60 on it. I was surprised I racked up way more achievements than Venk did on it. :p

For the most part the color coded weaknesses are a good guide to how to handle baddies, but sometimes that isn't the weapon they're most weak against. The shotgun...er...Shock Blast was really effective against tons of enemies that had other weaknesses listed, for instance.

I paid full price for Ghostbusters, and played through the campaign a few times, and unlocked pretty much every single player trophy before trading it in. I can appreciate the multiplayer, but I got bored of it pretty quickly.

The multiplayer could have been so much more than what it was, IMO.

And unless I missed it, an online co-op of the campaign would have been nice too.

Been playing the God of War Collection since Christmas. I never got a chance to play the games on the PS2 so his is my first real crack at the series. Some of the puzzles and backtracking can get a little annoying, but man, are the cut scenes ever gory. Then again, I knew that coming in, but the amount of blood flying around feels like old school Mortal Kombat

Got Madden 10 for the 360 for Christmas. I'm used to playing it on PS2, and the controls are just different enough for it to be annoying. 0-1 as the Browns so far, as Mohamed Massaqoui appeared to have the game winning TD only to drop the ball when drilled in midair, giving the Vikings a 19-14 win.

I FINALLY finished Borderlands. Now I can play something else, anything else. It was a great experience, but I'm tired of looking at it. I think I'll start Uncharted 2 next.

I downloaded Dragon's Lair on the Dsi and fucking FINALLY for the first time in my life beat it. I got it on PC in like 1994 and never could even get to the damn dragon. So this was quite the accomplishment for me. Now if only they'd port Dragon's Lair 2 on there, as it's far superior.

Cranking through Borderlands some more, doing some Rust Commons East quests at the moment. I'm a sniper & I use sniper rifles even though every guide out there seemingly tells you to whore Bloodwing & use combat rifles.

On a new computer too, which increased performance far more than I expected. Granted I went from AGP to PCI-E video card, from 1GB 533 RAM to 2GB 1066, and a dual-core to a quad-core...but somehow loading times are 1/5 what they used to be (30 seconds now, 2.5 minutes then). Very nice in TF2 & the L4Ds, to be able to join right away & start playing rather than having the whole group get a head start on you.

You should join our league for season 2.

I picked up Mirror's Edge for £1.15! It's VERY frustrating at times.

Yup, that was my experience of it too. Lots of times when that stupid indy bitch just didn't do what she should have done... grr!

I've been playing alot of RPGS at the moment:

Last Remnant - 360
Vagrant Story - PS3 ps1 game
Valkyrie Chronicles - PS3

Enjoying them all and its nice to mix between them as their all pretty different in terms of style and content. The battle system in Last Remnant is awesome.

In my idiotic defence, it took me several levels before I realised I could disarm a weapon.

Along the lines of Madden 10, this is a fucked up season 1 in my franchise. As the Browns I'm 4-5, tied for third in the AFC North but somehow only one game back of the Wild Card. The NFC is so shitty that all four NFC North teams are tied for the division lead...at 3-6.

So my Browns are going into Detroit to take on the division leading Detroit Lions in a battle of sub-.500 teams.

Like I said, fucked up.

Literally cruising through NBA 2K9, now that I got the shooting down.... LeBron is a fucking terror once you get a few seasons under your belt and can develop his midrange and three-point shooting. I picked up an excellent point guard and rebounding power forward in the draft. The PG is starting and after some development, the PF will be too.

Starting five as follows (Detroit Pistons):

Jason McGee, PG
Me, SG
LeBron James, SF
Michael Beasley, PF
CAP, C

I just cranked up the difficulty level, because I'm tripling up the opposing team's score without really trying. When the Chemistry rating is up over 75%, its almost unfair because your players do exactly the right thing at the right time, such as when you coming down on a 2 on 1 or 3 on 2 break, the open man will cut to the basket or spot up for a wide-ass open jumper, depending on what he does as a player. If you hit him with the pass at the right time, its a simple button press for a dunk.

Speaking of dunks, I wish there was more variety, but there are more dunks than I first thought, and if you have a 99 rating in it, you can take off from behind the free throw line if you're going full speed.

Finished Borderlands. Thought the ending sucked.

Now playing Torchlight. Very addicting, the only reason I stopped is it's 3am & I'm starving.

Beat Army of Two: 40th Day over the weekend. Liked the gameplay..forgot how awesome it is to click a thumbstick and switch the view of how you're shooting (which comes in handy when going around corners or peeking thru doors) and loved putting a bayonette on an AK and impaling people onto it.

Story was "meh" with the whole morality thing being a decent side type that made it more interesting in finding out that the "good" decision was actually a poor one in the end.

Since I don't have any consoles at all at the moment, I've gotten back into emulators. First stop has been N64 and a real full playthrough of The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time which I never actually played all the way through way back when I had my N64.

Just started Brutal Legend. It's pretty funny and I like the look, but the gameplay seems awfully generic.
You're gonna be fucking PISSSSED with the shitty RTS aspect of it, if you haven't already got up to it.

Been finishing up my final seasons on MLB09 The Show. I wish they would've included an option to upload an existing franchise in the next game, which is due to come out in two months. Otherwise it's been a fun waste of time.

Played the first RTS section of Brutal Legend earlier.

Just....no. Way to needlessly shoehorn a completely different gameplay style into your action/sandbox game, guys.

My buddy got Borderlands from GameFly the other day, so he asked me if I wanted to co-op. I picked up the game cheap over Christmas, but never got around to playing it. Now I'm sad it sat all those months without being played. I know its gotten a lot of love but I just never got around to it. Now I'm debating waiting for him to continue or if I just play on my own. Think I will start another character to play offline.

Andrew, what are your thoughts on Persona?

(replaying ME1 because I originally beat ME1 on my roommate's 360, not my own)

(and plus I'm making a Sentinal because they look so bad ass in ME2)

I also just got Borderlands from GameFly. With ME2 complete I can get to that and Assassin's Creed 2....and FIFA 09 which I got because I had a GameFly rewards coupon that was about to expire.

Im getting ready to pimp Bioshock 2 tomorow, then im gonna get stuck into Assassins Creed 2 again, cause the loss of my save file 75% of the way through it upsets me still.

It's definitely more difficult and complicated than some of the more mainstream RPGs I've played, but it does a really good job of easing you into the gameplay and mechanics. The meat of the combat takes place in dungeons with multiple floors--the layouts are randomly generated as well. You can see enemies on the field, however. There are also items to leave the dungeon in an emergency.

Key to being successful is learning the enemies' weaknesses and knocking down the bigger threats. Grinding a lot helps. :) However, enemies weaknesses are documented in-game when you find them, so repeat encounters will be a lot easier. Your main character can switch between a number of skill sets--familiars of sorts--called "Personas" which have their own separate levels and earn skills. They can also be fused with other dropped Personas to make stronger ones. Your relationships with other party members and NPCs, "Social Links", can be built up to increase the bonuses you get by fusing the Personas.

I'm about 20 hours into it. I keep getting distracted by other titles, but it's not a difficult game to return to after a hiatus.

Since you posted and I finally saw this, I also completed the original Soul Reaver, and right now between Persona 4 sessions I've been playing the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, which is kind of like a 2D Zelda game, except darker and gorier, and of course you control a vampire. The amount and length of loading times can be really annoying, though.

I'm liking Borderlands so far, though the driving controls are dreadful. I wish developers would stop thinking that using the left stick to accelerate and the right to turn is a good idea, because it ain't.
