Yes...I've recently got a bit into '70s Styx and why they don't have the same kitsch appeal amongst the under 30 set that Journey does is a bit baffling. My only guess is that (for the most part) they don't have cheesy videos to go along with the songs like Journey.

One problem i've noticed with Styx is that with Dennis DeYoung gone, they pretty much refuse to play the songs where he was the lead singer. Tommy Shaw mostly sings the songs from back in the day where he was the lead singer. Journey on the other hand has always used singers who tried to sing like Steve Perry and are performing all the songs Perry sang.

Oh man, if you want some serious kill yourself shit, get Low's The Great Destroyer. You could just pick up the one song "On The Edge Of" and still want to fucking eat a gun. I've never heard someone play an instrument that made me want to die like the guitar on that song.

We're stuck with a shitty generic rock station at work, and this "Aint No Rest For The Wicked" bx Cage the Elephant is the worst goddamn thing playing now.

Duly noted.

Loading up the ipod for a vacation and realized I only had Clutch's 2007 album on my ipod. That was immediately rectified and now the house is echoing with the greatness that is their self-titled work. Rock N Roll Outlaw just came on.

And the ipod has all of their work on it now. Going to a be good plane ride.

This one is going to get me hell around here. Not willing to spend my cash on it, I downloaded CREED's newest album. It's......not.....bad. Not bad at all in fact. Mark Tremonti can still tear it up on a guitar at least.

Minus the Bear - Into the Mirror

First time I've actually heard a Minus the Bear song. I like it a lot. Sounds like a cooler Interpol.

That's probably my least favorite song of theirs. It's a mishmash of stuff that really isn't about them: a beat virtually lifted from a Ratatat record, a weird Mars Volta guitar breakdown, that girl, whatever. There's better.

Well, I liked it. :[

YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

This is way better than the radio version. Cooler lead vocals. If this doesn't make you want to break out into a big choreographed dance number, then, well, I suppose you're very lucky. It's an awkward feeling. I practically have to tether myself to my laptop to stop myself from doing big clunky dance moves during that chorus.
