Cornette and Bischoff basically have done a Face/Off scenario with regards to AEW.

Reportedly the Bischoff podcast numbers were shit. So, as one jackass once said, "controversy creates cash".

So that empire isn't really doing as great as the hype indicates. Arn, Tony and Eric have all had issues with getting ears to tune in.
Is Bruce doing schtick the only draw? Grumpy JR and never drew a dime Jarrett can't be doing boffo numbers.
Maybe 200 ads a podcast has soured too many people.

A few weeks ago Corny and Brian Last alluded to Bischoff's poor numbers. But, I think that was in comparison to theirs. Corny isn't ranked on the wrestling podcasts. I think they were making fun of that Bischoff would be down in the 80s on their listing.

Bischoff spends his first 10+ mins on some recent AEW comments he made and some he didn't actually say.
Eric tells Tony to tell stories, not just have random matches. This is from the man whose company is notorious for 95% of their TV results sounding like a random match generator.
Also one where they tossed a lot of matches on TV to fill time while the announcers droned on about the NWO.

The “Bobby Heenan” episode was 47 minutes of AEW talk, and other Indy stuff to open the show. I started skipping ahead after about 30 minutes.

So, I'm guessing Bischoff's total turn on AEW is a combination of trying to get those Corny numbers and him being butt-hurt over the Punk comments about Hogan.

Does anybody know who Granny is on the Wrestling Observer/F4W podcasts? She seems to be the comic relief who gets names of moves and wrestlers wrong and trailing off in the middle of whatever she's saying in occasionally hilarious ways. I thought I read somewhere once that "Granny" was actually a longtime Observer reader from day one and is working a confused elderly woman gimmick, but I could be wrong. Granny makes me laugh either way.

She's Bryan's shoot grandma, who by now has to be near 90.

I enjoyed Cheap Heat in the Grantland era. It went off a cliff when Shoemaker went to the Ringer. The Masked Man show was decent while Shoemaker had a rotation of co-hosts, but Kazeem was probably my least favorite of all of them, so of course he ended up getting the gig permanently.

Thankfully, Dan St. Germain being on the Masked Man Show led to me discovering Total f’n Marks, which is now WrestleRoasts. By far my favorite wrestling pod these days.

She just turned 92 the other day. I was listening to the show the other day, and Bryan mentioned that she started doing the show with them when she was around 75. She’s great.
I just about die laughing at some of the segments I hear on YouTube, like the one where Granny insists that Cup o' Noodles is her favorite food regardless of anything else. Not sure where I read that Granny was a gimmick. I'm glad that she's not; that makes me enjoy these segments even more.

My World With Jeff Jarrett is going to cover SuperClash III and his dad buying WCCW next month. Better be caught up on your weird serial killer podcasts before then, @BruiserBrody , bro.
The Gacy tapes is pretty good. Host is the son of Gacy's lawyer (and a lawyer himself). Gacy's lawyer gave him a bunch of cassettes with previously publicly unheard "interviews" Gacy had while explaining his actions to his lawyers, which the host uses to tell the case narritive.
Gacy's lawyer has made a few guest spots as well as others who have personal Gacy encounters.
The pod is taking the piss out of the Chicago police for planting evidence and doing their darnest not to look for any more bodies in likely spots. Not to mention ignoring warnings others were tossing at them in the mid 70s that Gacy was a creeper/rapist.

No one said anything about Jerry Lynn and Mikey Whipwreck having a podcast.

I had a "How come @Laz didn't tell me Jerry Lynn and Mikey Whipwreck had a podcast?" post like a year ago. It doesn't come up cause IIRC it isn't as good as it sounds like it'd be.

Considering that ECW was the first promotion to embrace the internet, it's amazing that there are no really strong ECW podcast. Brian Myers did a pilot for an oral history of ECW type podcast last year that was kind of interesting and I think might have been way to do it but it didn't take. I assume cause that format seems hard to pull off for someone who still has a pretty robust wrestling schedule and another successful podcast on top of that.

It's also not really surprising there's no decent ECW podcasts cause really...how many ECW alums would you want to hear and would be able to talk for 1-3 hours every week? Only three I can think of that could draw interest are Heyman (obviously I highly highly doubt that would ever happen), Joey Styles (who is too much of a MAGA Dweeb for even the wrestling industry), and RVD, who I think could be oddly really good but I can also never imagine him being a podcast dude.

RVD has really bad CTE. Dave mentioned they were doing some type of biography on him and his memory was so bad that they cancelled the original plan and ended up doing a biography on his memory loss. Dave also mentioned when RVD was in Impact he couldn't remember spots in the ring and had trouble doing very basic stuff.

In other words, he probably wouldn't be a good guy to podcast on stuff from 25 years ago.

83 weeks is a hot one as Eric discusses the passing of former WCW tag champ Judy Bagwell (didn't listen, obv.)

Corny released his pod LATE Sat. night, so listening to the Survivor Series preview while the show was unfolding felt a little silly last night. Still trying to plow through this as now we are on to a Rampage review that may be almost as long as the actual show. (Shocking update: Corny likes MJF and CM Punk, everything else sucks. Fresh.)

Somebody put me into a Corny rehab center so I can stop hurting myself like this,

I'll say it before anyone else does. Let David Crockett fill in for JR on Dynamite.

Also I did the McMahon acting horny chain of reactions when I saw his nWo satin jacket behind him, then the Monday Nitro baseball jacket, then the fact he was wearing what looks like a WCW Starrcade '99 t-shirt was me doing the falling over horny react.
