I’m sorry but I don’t think Gen Zers don’t know and/or care who Ted Turner is. I think most people stopped associating him with those networks when they got rid of WCW and the Braves.

It isn't about if Ted Turner is literally involved, it's about the historical legacy and what those networks mean to wrestling, WWE specifically. It's a surreal notion. It doesn't matter if gen z anyone cares or whatever. It's the idea that WWE, the company who killed one of the things that MADE the networks what they are, could be paid handsomely to return after years. It's weird.

Not as WWE, though. WWE is the name of everything they swallowed up and claimed credit for saving. WWE is the winner's version of history. The WWF was a wrestling promotion that liked being a wrestling promotion, not the longest running action adventure series on television. It's hard to explain.
