You'd be hard pressed to find a situation where Mr Fuji is a major promo upgrade for somebody, but here we are.
It happened on my 14th birthday and it felt like a true dream match. Along with Bret and Sting, Mr. Perfect was one of the first wrestlers I cheered. And then Austin was my favorite as I grew older. The IWC was hyped for that Austin-Perfect match when it was announced. Sad neither guy was into it at the time.
Fuji's last match with Nord aired 11/22/92 so TECHNICALLY he and Yoko were under the same umbrella for a week or 2.I just don't think the islander shtick gets as over for him as the sumo one. Fuji also clicked well enough with him to make it work best.
Did it they address Fuji's just dropping all his previous clients to only have Yokozuna? Or was there a period where he managed a wacky stable of a sumo and a viking or something
AWA 1989 TV Survivors. That would've been a fun tag team for a few months if they wanted to wait on Yoko's big singles push a little longer.

Then the match was over after 5 minutes and both guys barely tried.
Ope, the tweet response didn't come through there. It was suggested Hennig was doped up based on his slow motion work rate. His last match ever was with David Flair. It isn't more of a fall than that.
I mean, could you have waited longer with Yoko? That would've been a fun tag team for a few months if they wanted to wait on Yoko's big singles push a little longer.

Still a bit shocking Luger could come in looking like he did and not get the Yoko push vs Bret. You have the steel forearm gimmick revealed quicker IRL and Luger is ordered to pad it. He pulls down the pad to KO Bret and "steals" the win. The Hogan post match run in goes the same. Instant challenge. A dazed Bret waves Hogan on. Luger tries to use the forearm, Hogan ducks and hits hits own AX BOMB-AH and drops the leg to stun Luger. So I've been watching a bunch of 92-95 stuff lately and have come to the conclusion that Made In The USA Lex Luger kinda sucks. Like in ring, when he's feeling it, he's great fun. But when he doesn't he's one of the worst top guys of the era. His promos are also just miserable and I didn't realize just how miscast he was. I'm a Luger guy but man. Something about those high rise 90s trunks just ruined the aura.
Other than the fact that he sucked in the ring and on the mic... sure?I’ve said it a million times, Kona Crush was the right guy for the all American Man gimmick and should been regular ass Total Package smug heel Luger.
